Pelennor Fields, easily. PJ has repeatedly shown his skill in depicting battles (although he's sometimes unclear as to who belongs in said battles...)

Definitely the Battle of the Pellenor fields. I'm just hoping PJ won't mess it up too bad. All of the stuff on the list is gonna be awesome though.:)

I went with the battle at the Pellenor fields. After seeing the results, it looks like that is going to be a landslide. You'll definitely be able to tell who's read the books when it comes to the Eowyn scene.

I would have been looking forward to the black gate opens, but PJ ruined it by opening it too early, the place where he had it open (in the book) is called the black gate is closed!!

I'm looking forward to everything! One part I really want to see is Eowyn and the Nazgul. If PJ does it right, then it will be awesome. I also want to see what the ending will be like, but I don't want to be watching the ending. I don't want it to end!

me neither!!!!!!!! i never want these movies to end! i have enjoyed them so much (and still do!) i'm really excited for ROTK but i'm gonna miss looking forward to a new movie each year! i think it would be fun to have them put all three movies together in the theater and you would be there all day with other LOTR fanatics! it would be a long day though! anyways, i too i'm totally psyched for everything in the ROTK!

I was looking forward to seeing the scouring of the shire, but since PJ decided not to include it I guess I'll just have to hope that I get to see Merry and Eowyn topple the Witch King.
I think the paths of the dead could make a nicely spooky scene, but again I can't see it making it into the film.

I am really looking forward to seeing Aragorn emerge as the true king and hero. PJ is building up to it little by little. I hope the climax is spectacular. Come to think of it, maybe that is what he has planned for the Paths of the Dead - Aragorn commands a huge army of the dead and whips the enemy.
PJ had better have Merry stab the Witch King's leg.
I have a bad feeling that he won't though, since Merry's sword hasn't been given it's background because the hobbit's didn't go through the Barrow Downs.
As long as PJ doesn't stuff the whole movie up big time, I shall be happy.
I know there will be changes that I won't like, but hopefully they'll be outweighed by the pros.

I can't wait to see Gandalf the White in all his glory in the battle of Pelennor Fields. PJ better not jack it up, but as FoolOfATook said, PJ can depict battles well, so I have faith in him.

Merry had better stab the Witch King's leg! I don't think the point about where his sword was made is all that relevant in the movie to his heroic deed.
Well it wouldn't make sence.
The only reason that Merry's attack on the Witch-King was successful was because of the history of the sword.
No ordinary weapon could kill the Witch-king

Well, look at it this way, Pippin. The sword that Eowyn had was not the work of Numenor, yet it pierced the Witch King...in fact, it was Eowyn's sword that delivered the death blow.
So I'm inclined to believe that the ancestry of Merry's sword is not all that important. What is essential is that only Eowyn and Merry together could have destroyed the Witch King.

A few scenes:
--Gandalf at Isengard, saying (hopefully), "Come back, Saruman! I did not give you leave to go...you have become a fool," and then casting him out of the order and Council.
--Pippin with the palantir...also Aragorn with the palantir, but I don't know if that will be shown.
--Mostly, though, I'm most looking forward to seeing how the Ring gets cast back into the fires of Mount Doom. I have read the book, so I know what happens :D ...and I know some people have concerns (rightly so) about how the scene will be shown, but for me, that's the pivotal (and climactic) scene of the film, even if it will be short. It's what everything is leading towards and what everything depends upon. I'll bet the whole film's gonna be spectacular!

Everything! I really can't wait to see rotk .. I have never wanted to see any movie sequil more ...
so I have to think of what to vote for ...
ALL of the scenes listed ... plus paths of the dead ... reunion of arwen and aragorn, merry and eowyn fighting WK ...
aragorn looking into the palantir, HOH scenes
Seeing aragorn being the king he is meant to be is going to be awesome ...
I told my children I may by tickets for two showings on the first day ...

From The Return Of The King, Chapter VI, The battle of the pelennor fields
No other blade, not though mightier hands had wielded it, would have dealt that foe a wound so bitter, cleaving the undead flesh, breaking the spell
This makes it seem Merry's sword was important in kiling the witch king
Yes, since Merry's sword broke the spell, Eowyn was able to kill the Witch-King.
If Merry had not stabbed him first, Eowyn's attack would not have hurt the Witch-King at all.

Theoden_king and Pippin, I'm afraid we will just have to agree to disagree on this. From my perspective, Eowyn delivered the death blow...Merry's stroke caused the Witch King's blow to go wide, missing Eowyn, giving her time to gather her strength and finish him off. FWIW, movie Merry does not have just any old sword, he has a Noldorin sword given to him by Galadriel in Lothlorien. :)

There is no particular event in RotK that I am especially looking forward to, more the atmosphere of the entire film - FotR was magical, TTT was dark, RotK will be heroic. I think that overall it will be stunning, both story and cinematography-wise.
I'm curious to know how they'll portray the last few moments of the Ring's existence though.

like most people, i'm really excited to see it all!! But I'd hafta say actually I really want to see Shelob's Lair. The battle of Pelannor Fields is gonna be awesome too, but there was something about shelob and frodo's time there that really interested me. I absolutely LOVED the end of the 2nd book... "Frodo was alive, but in the hands of the enemy." or sumthin like that! i thought it was the best cliffhanger, but thats beside the point!!! I just really want to see all of RotK right now!! dont wanna wait til Dec.!!!! :(

The Battle of Pelennor, on Eowyn's behalf.
I'm really looking forward to Eowyn and Faramir- I'm hoping Faramir's character will be fixed (bad TTT, very very bad! Rhian is most displeased) and that Eowyn will get more screen time.

Most definitely........Shelob's lair.
I thought that chapter was absolutely the MOST terrifying. I had no idea that Shelob was a spider. I can't wait to see what she will look like on the big screen. The chase in the dark, the chase outside, the fight between Shelob and Sam. I have never looked at spiders in the same way since I read it! Just can't wait.
Interesting that it was Sting that Sam used to battle her with.....the same sword Bilbo used to slay the spiders in The Hobbit.

There was a pretty intense part of the book where the Orcs lop off the heads of their fallen human enemies and then catapult them into the city over the walls - a clever anti-morale tactic.
If PJ puts that in the movie I'll be impressed.

I'm really looking forward to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. That will be awesome! Hopefully the Paths of the Dead are in the movie also, along with Shelob's Lair, the killing of the Witch King, the destruction of The Ring, and basically the whole movie! :D

I think the Paths of the Dead will be especially impressive. I've got a feeling that PJ will do a frighteningly good job on it. ;) What I'm NOT excited about seeing is the rumoured appearance of Sauron in physical form at the last battle before the Morannon.

I`m looking forward to Pelennor Fields, we`ll see many more Oliphaunts and Trolls involved in this battle. I`ve read somewhere that what we see in Pelennor will make Helms Deep look like a barroom brawl. This film is going to seal it. BP in Feb hopefully.

I'd go with Pellenor Fields. Battle of the Hornburg in TTT was hopelessly inconsistent with the books but was realllly cool anyway. I'd also like to see Aragorn on Dagorlad. I hope BotPF takes up half the movie. Thibk (whoops--think. HEHEHE)- Oliphaunts!!! Even the word sounds cool: Oooooooolllllliiiiiiippphhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuuuuu uuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnttttttttttttssssssss sss............................................... ...................:D :D :D:D
