I'm really into this guild thing. Also, I'm really into Japanese Anime. This guild was made for all those who love Dragonball Z, Zoids, Yu-Yu-Hakushio, etc. Joining is free and here we can discuss all Anime EXCEPT adult Anime.


So, what is your favorite anime show? Why do you like that show? Who is your favorite character? How many times have you watched the show?

I like Sailor Moon because Serena and the rest of the scouts show tons and tons of girl power. I watched the show EVERYDAY until it was taken off the air for some STUPID reasion.:) :( :D ;) :p :cool: :mad: :eek: :confused:

LOL! That is quite funny. I agree that you have to feel sorry for Brock. No one likes the poor guy. :( Do you collect Poke'mon cards? At Super Target, in Apple Valley, my hometown, they have a DELUXE Gift Charge Pack. Over 10 card packs for $20.00 !! Once I get my paycheck, I am going to buy it. Only problem is I don't have anyone to play with.:(

s about this gay boy named yugi and his gay friends. he had a millennium items which has a pharoah's soul trapped inside it. the pharoah is gay too. then ryou has the millennium puzzle. it has a tomb robber in it. he's sexy, and kool. he's trying to take over the world with malik (also has a mill. item wit a soul in it) and he's hott too. uh ...kaiba is waaaaaaaay sexy but i think he's on the gay pharoah's side now ...anyway eventually malik and bakura (the tombrobber) will lose and life will suck. LOL. it's a pretty good show though.

G Gundam is about this guy Called Domon Kashu . Every nation has a Gundam fighter adn they battle every for years for control of the earth. Domon id Neo Japans fighter and he is trying to find his Brother Kiogi an dget revenge on him for the murder of there mother

Don't even get me started with Hentai for the stuff that you would hear would be enough to get me banned for life.
I've been an Anime and Manga collector for a year and a half now, and I'm starting to develope quite the collection now. I have nearly everything from Mr.Miazaky's works with Studio Gibhli to Hentai and other Anime and Manga.

I never liked DBZ mainly because of the bad and repetetive animation and horribly childish plots. My favorite anime series on the other hand is the brilliant Helsing series, also Vampire Princess Myo makes me giggle like a little girl every now and then.

It would be really interesting to hear that what movies others here have and how long have you collected. So let's get working on this so it can be added to the guild list!

AAAUUGH!! I hate it when people say that! Spirited Away is not a kids cartoon! If anyone has watched any Studio gihbli movies then you should understand that they are not kids movies! Sure they have thing that appeal to kids but most of the things in them have remarks to japanese history and society!

For example Prinsess Monoke is another movie from the makers of SA and that movie basically is a metaphor for the 2nd World War in a fantasy world.

See Spirited Away! It's one of the Best animated movies to come out in years! I loved it so much that I ordered it from Hong Kong.

Depending on where you live, Cable TV can be pretty expensive. I can see why you're parents don't want to purchase it. However, it does have it's benefits. More movie channels, and news channels, and channels like Discovery Civilizations, etc. AND before I forget, Cartoon Network. ;)

I know it doens't seem like it but I am a big Anime and Manga fan. The current ones that I like the most are Inuyasha and Sakura Card Captors

I also used to be a big Sailor Moon fan but after watching Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon Super S and Sailor Moon Stars I just couldn't take it anymore.

Hey, does anyone know where i can get undubbed Fushugi Yugi?
I am a big fan of EVAN, and the movies were really pounding, a wonderful adaptation of The Book of Revelation.
I haven't seen Kenshin yet, but i am excited and waiting. Have you guys seen Vampire Hunter D and D: Bloodlust? Also, there is this really exciting semi-experimental anim called Bloodlust: The Last Vampire. Excellent story and really great artwork, though it has a few bumps and pings.
Still, one of the best anim i've seen was Rin-Goh (sp??). Man, excellent. The problem i see with anim is that most of the stuff is really trite and sappy, they expect me to oggle and ooze over some really pretty artwork. Hate to tell them, but i am not one of the numerous blind beleivers of the art of anime, and the **** that has been released here in the states is breaking me from anime.
Escaflowne is OK at times, too, though really childish and, as usual, really sappy and trite.
Kite was glitzy and glittery and sported the usual 'sex-is-art' post-modern trope, so i give it a low rank even though a lot of the art and narrative, as well as fight scenes, are really fun.

I have a collection of different Vampire animes including Blood the Last vampire and Vampire Hunter D.

I also have a short series called Helsing which is one of the best ones that I've ever seen, it tells about the vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing.

Also, Escaflowne was a awesome movie, the series that it spawned were also really good, but since you can't buy them sepparetly here in Finland you have to buy a huge collectores package that costs about 150 Euros. :(

Who was it that was going to see "Spirited Away" some time ago?
Did the person like it? I'm interested to hear, the movie has gotten more publicity around the world now that it won the oscar for best animated motion picture. Here in Finland they brought it back to the theatres to a bigger place also.

If you want to see a few very good anime movies, I suggest that you take a look at "Ninja Scroll" which is based in Feudal Japan and is, like the name shows, about ninjas. Another good one is "Akira" which allready has achieved a sort of cult status around the world as it is a flagship for Anime in the western world. But if you do see it, make sure you watch the original Japanese version since the dubbing in the English version is just awful.

I've had it for about 3 months now. And the moment that I had seen it in the theatres (last fall) I've been trying to get people to see it. I even posted about it here in the beginning of the thread.

The movie was awesome, everything was in place and the entire whole just worked so well that it's pure genius.

The charecters were great and lovable, the music rocked, and the animation was superb.

But I urge you, see it in Japanese with English subtitles. I saw it in English and it was awful, I just couldn't stand it.. :mad:

I do not know which anime is being talked about on this page but I have seen Spirited Away. Spirited Away is done by the same Director as, The Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky.
I must say that Spirited Away is one of the best that he has done. I would type out his name, but I find that it is long and I can't remember so.. sorry. But the movie is one of the best I've seen. You should see it if you haven't yet.
I do not watch most of this anime you all talk of. I watch things like Cowboy Beebop, VanDread, Trigun, Inuyasha ( which is my favorite so far!:D ) I'm more into the "adult" anime. I do not like Pokemon, or DBZ, or Digimon, or any of those half thought out serries. I believe the anime sucks, and that the plot lines are a little carried out too far. Like someone thought of one battle, but they couldn't think of anything else to they made a serries out of one battle. Oh, if you wouldn't mind I would like to join. Do I need to PM Jesse?

Oh. I don't watch much of Gundam. I look for animated quality, I suppose for when it was made it is really good, but, I'm more modern Anime. The only things that I accually like watching that aren't what I consider quality anime, is Unico and The Last Unicorn. But I'm not sure if both of those apply to Anime.

I've been trying to get people to see Mr. Miazaky's works and I personally love them. I have nearly all exept Om-Poko which I didn't like that much.

Has anyone watched Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust? I think that it's one of the best Anime movies about vampires.

Spirited Away is done by the same Director as, The Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Castle in the Sky. I do not like Pokemon, or DBZ, or Digimon, or any of those half thought out serries. I believe the anime sucks, and that the plot lines are a little carried out too far. Like someone thought of one battle, but they couldn't think of anything else to they made a serries out of one battle. Oh, if you wouldn't mind I would like to join. Do I need to PM Jesse?

I don't even consider Digimon and Pokemon 'anime'. They are just children's shows. However, I do like DBZ, I just download the uncut stuff. Cowboy Bebop is a great show. Have you seen the Escaflowne series? I just finished it last night, good stuff. Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite movies ever. Anyways, I would like to join too.

BTW, Rurouni Kenshin happens to be an awesome show too, ElvishHellion.:) Mononoke is pretty bloody, but it's very well drawn and has an excellent storyline.

Speaking of Toonami, you guys should really check into some other anime. Toonami edits everything blatantly, leaving little of the original cartoon in place. If any of you use Kazaa or iMesh to download music, then you could easily pick up some episodes of Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Evangelion and so on. Trust me, it's worth it!:)

Hey Eol... I don't get my Anime from cartoon net.. only Inuyasha.. I get most my anime from an Anime store thingy where I rent my anime DVD.. hahaha! And Eol is absolutely right about them toning things down. Really get the dvd versions if you can... then you get extra footage and you can watch in the original lang.. wich can be quite revealing at times... *nods to self*

My favorite shows are:
Inuyasha (#1 always in my heart)<--I have ep. 1-26, japanese with eng sub, ep.1-3 in english, (don't have money right now to buy anything else), english manga #4,11,12, and japanese manga #25 and 26. (much cheaper, but I don't understand anything...:))
Rurouni Kenshin (maybe someday I will actually see it from the beginning to end, right now I only watch it when I don't work.)
Cowboy Bebop (Haven't seen the end yet, but I know what's going to happen...)
I also watched G Gundam (cool show), Yu Yu Hakusho, and couple episodes of .hack//sign (is it still on? Cartoon Network likes to change shows often, and sometimes like to show episodes not in the order, but at random...:))
