Read that^^^
Sounds like a mixture of being far-fetched and true.

Seems rather suspicious to me. and in one of the booths, selling lotr costumes and accessories, the guy running the booth had a copy of the ROTK trailer. I don't know where he got it -- I didn't ask and he didn't say,
That doesn't seem likely to be the official trailer. I hope its not, cause it would be really bad if Sauron appeared in physical form at the last battle.

I think this has been revealed to be a hoax. Posted by Xoanon on TORN:
"Several other people from the same convention where Mr. Sieve apparently saw the trailer are reporting that there is NO video or tv setup showing ANYTHING of the kind. All just a fanboy pipedream? I'd bet on that...but you never know."

About That RETURN OF THE KING Trailer...

Report from Ain't IT Cool News.......
I’ve been e-mailed roughly 27 grazillion times now about the description that TORN put up about a supposed RETURN OF THE KING trailer, asking why we haven’t linked to it yet or mentioned it yet.
I’ve just gotten off the phone with New Line, and they reconfirmed what we had discussed last week. The description is 100% hoax. Never happened. There is no trailer for ROTK yet. The guy also claims to have a finished videotape of the film. That would be the film that isn’t finished yet.....

Sorry to bring the rain Elendil3119 but PJ has already said that Sauron will appear in RotK. He said not doing so would be like watching Star Wars and never seeing Darth Vader. I think he's right too. After all Sauron looked fantastic in the opening shots of TFotR.

Yes, PJ did say Sauron would appear. But he also said it may not be a physical form, he doesnt know how he wants to show him yet.

Maybe he won't turn up at the Fields in full battle armor. How about he hitches a lift on the back of a Nazgul Wing'ed Beast when he realizes the Ring's at Mount Doom. A final 'light sabre' battle with Frodo perhaphs. :D
He just appears as shadow in the sky in the book if I remember rightly. It could be a very visual SFX shot. After all he's just been an eyeball for most of the time so far. Also PJ said that the 'Mouth of Sauron' would appear (presumably in the right place at the Black Gate) which rules out Sauron appearing at Pelennor Fields.

At this point in the book, Sauron can take physical form, so if PJ does decide to show him as such, I wouldn't have any problems with it.

If you haven't read the book, then my reply may have been misleading. Sauron can take physical form, but he is never seen, in the book, outside his fortress of Barad dur. And in the final climatic scene where the Ring is destroyed, he is portrayed as a vast, ominous shadow that is swept away by the wind.
So your imagining was pretty darn close, spirit :)
