OCC: Ok, i have a prologue written already, but we can rename the characters...I know my RPGs have a tendency to suddenly halt, but that is because my computer has crashed. I have new software preventing crashes, so do not fear this, also this is for veteran RPers only. That being said...
Chapter 1-Preperations
The Shire had been ruled previously by Peregrin Took, the Thain. He had passed on, and with many other gifts, he passed on his crownship to a smart, young Hobbit by the name of Ethan. The world was in dismay, King Elessar had passed on, along with two hobbits who were wise, and loved by all. The entire Fellowship was gone, and no new King had been elected.
Elves were leaving, Middle-Earth was starting to weaken. However, the South was always growing. Harad was of trouble, as two wizards lead the nation of power, always driving. There were no Orcs in Harad, but there were things much more horrible.
Two Balrogs, and a horde of Dark Elves had gone to the Black Land, and Harad was ever advancing, ever advancing.
S.H., 1600. Ethan the Hobbit took role for the meeting of the races still left on Middle Earth.
"Are there any Dwarves, and if so, who is their leader?"
"Here here! I am Rytandur of the Iron Hills, leader of a remnent of Dwarves who are hungry for war!" Durin was a sturdy, handsome fellow, as far as Dwarves go. He was also very tall for his race. He carried a battle axe, a sword, and Mithril was hanging off him and his near twenty score men. He did, indeed look ready for battle.
"Sir Hobbit, I also know where twenty score more Dwarves are, though it is far. The Dwarves I am talking about have already started prepairing for war, reforging weapons, and rebuilding the great watchtower, Amon Sul."
The hobbit took this in, then continued roll.
"What nations have sent men?"
A sturdy fellow, very tall, rose. He immediatly sent his piercing stare at Ethan, though it was easy to see he was not angry.
"Dear hobbit, I am from Gondor, my name is ______, and I have at least three hundred men with me. But before I sit, I must ask a question. Why do you call us nations? Every soul can see that Gondor is no more a war nation, or a nation at all. We have turned into a Rohan, if you will, in the fact that we do not serve any soul, we do not have an army, we live on the plains and have remained neutral. But I guess this must be the way of war."
"This is news indeed, if we have such a leader as was your father!" said Ethan, then thought for a great time.
"So then it is," Ethan spoke, "I have at least one thousand Hobbits, we have two score Dwarves and perhaps two score more, and three hundred men. Well, then I would like to speak with the Captainss in private."
Suddenly, a tall, fair, blond haired lad walked in. It was quiet as he spoke.
"Sir, will you please wait for us? I have brought at least three hundred elves to fight in the war."
A great cheer went up as the soilders left to find a sleeping place and the Captains remained, ready to begin war discussions.
OCC: Well, if you want to join, PM me by Sunday of next week. I will then list you as a part of the RP.
P.S. In your RP, pick out one of the characters that matches your race...i.e. if you are a hobbit pick out Ethan or a soldier, and you can change Ethans name to whatever your characters is, but I am going to be the Dwarf Durin VII and I am changing my name to Rytandur, my RP character. That is all for now.

Our first spot(besides mine) has been taken. The leader of the Elves is a female, though she hasn't sent me her profile yet, for some reason! When I get hers I shall post mine. And this has 16 views, so why does nobody PM me? Come on people!

It seems there is a change! The position of the leader of the Elves is open, as I still have not gotten the profile from her. Yay Gollum has joined, and will be posting her character shortly, as will I.

Name: Rytandur Dwarf-Lord of the Iron Hills
Age: 400
POB: Iron Hills(Somtimes called Iron Mountains by other races.
Looks: Quite thin for a dwarf. About as tall as a normal dwarf...black hair, wears a brown coat, with a picture of the Kingdom of Kazad-Aref, at all times with Mithril under armor.
History:Rytandur was born in the Iron Hills, 1156 S.R. When he was only a young Dwarf, his mother and father were taken to the Fortress in Mirkwood, and Rytandur swore he would forever attack evil and the blackness by which it was led. However, when he was turning the age of 100, he went into Moria, alone. He did not know, however, that at the time Orcs were vastly multiplying. He had not even stepped into Moria-Gate and closed the doors when he heard arrows singing, and he prepared to take many Orc down, alone. But he found that someone shut the door to Moria. He wondered lost for many a year, for it was a long journey back to his home, and no Dwarveshad he seen in long ages. Then he stumbled upon the Kingdom of Kazad Aref in the year 1500 S.H., what is known to men as Weathertop. From there he got back to the Iron Hills, where he was greated Kingly, for the tidings of his tough road had been heard, and he now is a legend there.
Weapons: The Axe of Durin, which he found by Moria-Gate.
Other: He is most noted for having no beard, which is very uncommon among Dwarves. He father did not have one, and even though Rytandur never met him or his mother, he carries on his family tradition with no beard.

03-30-2003, 06:57 AM
Name: Baragund
Age: 30
Race: Man of Gondor
Ht. & Wt.: 6'2, 200 lbs.
Appearance: brown hair and brown eyes, medium cropped beard, wears a charcoal grey overcoat over chain mail fashioned in the manner of a mid-level officer of the infantry of Minas Tirith. Wears no hat or helm at this time.
Weapons: A long sword and a dagger.
Special Abilities: None in particular. Above average if not exceptional physical strength and endurance.
Personality: Loyal, brave and tenacious yet good-natured (think of a Mannish Sam Gamgee). Loves to eat and drink, and is an excellent cook. Would prefer not fighting but will stand firm when called upon. Also strives to seek a negotiated settlement before resorting to force.
As a descendent of The Faithful of Numenor, he holds the Eldar in especially high regard, to the point of perhaps seeing them a bit too idealisticaly. He thinks all of the elves are every bit as noble and good-hearted as a Cirdan, Elrond, Galadriel or Arwen. At the same time, he harbors a deep hatred of any servant of Morgoth, Sauron or any other dark lord because his father and older brother were killed in a particularly gruesome manner during the War of the Ring.
Background: Born in Minas Tirith, married with five children, employed during peacetime as a stonemason rebuilding and maintaining the walls of Minas Tirith, and now restoring the walls and bridges of Osgiliath. Presently lives in Osgiliath.
He comes from a commoner family but most of the family lineage is that of The Faithful of Numenor. A favorite family legend has it that one of the ancestors was stable-keeper to Elendil in Armenelos. Most of the family are artisans, farmers or career soldiers with occasional rises to "middle-management". Baragund represents one of these occasional rises by making it to the officer corps of the Gondorian army.
Career Highlights: Earned his officer's commission by rallying other soldiers during the siege of Minas Tirith after their commander was killed. This was at a particularly vulnerable spot where the south wall of the city joins the mountainside. Earned further accolades in the final fight in front of the Black Gates of Mordor where he and two others saved the life of the Prince of Dol Amroth by taking down a troll that was approaching him from behind. He was later shot in the leg by a poisoned orc arrow and needed to be healed by none other than Aragorn.

Ethan, Thain of the Shire
Age: 54
History: As a young hobbit, Ethan always enjoyed listening to the tale of the War of the Ring. When he came of age, he journeyed around Middle Earth and came to Kazad Aref, and learned of the Dwarves rebuilding of the great watchtower on Weathertop. He came back to the Shire when he was 43, and he was immediatly voted Thain of the Shire. Two years ago, he learned of the troubles of the world, and had been meeting with Dwarves in The Prancing Pony and Kazad Aref.
Looks: A fair, tall hobbit, in hobbit-stature. Blue eyes and blond hair, he is often clad in elven-ware, and when hunting wears dwarf mail.
Weapons: A Westerneese sword forged by smiths long ago.
Personality:Very business like for a hobbit, but, if in good spirits, he can be merry. He is often grim of late, especially for hobbits, and has a temper.
Other: A great leader, Ethan persuaded one thousand hobbits from the Shire to journey with him.

Necromancer,
Could you clarify the date the War in the South is taking place? If you don't mind, please let me have it in terms of the year of the Fourth Age as opposed to Shire Reckoning; that's easier for me to track.

I have a few ideas to move the story along, any other suggestions are welcome.
Who is going to be the King in Gondor? Who is the heir?
Who is the lord of Rivendell, now that Elrond has left Middle Earth?
Jimzeller- the year is Shire Reckoning 1560, nine years after the last of the Fellowship left ME.
P.S. Remember we will not stop in Lothlorien, for the Golden Wood lost its powere when the Ring was destroed, and there are no Elves there.

My preference would be to stay as true as we can to the 'historical' outline that Tolkien laid out in the Appendices of LOTR. That would be, among other things, that 1. Aragorn and Arwen are reigning in Gondor. 2. The heir would be Eldarion. 3. The lord of Rivendell would be one or both of Elrond's sons.
That messes up the back story a little bit because Necromancer mentions Gondor as reverting to kind of a nomadic people, like Rohan, and that King Elessar has died. An alternvative could be that Faramir is restored as Steward if everyone prefers to stick with the back story.

I think we are much further into the RP timeline than that.
The Necromancer

Yes, I was thinking that. I think that it would be best if Elronds' sons were not there, and we could introduce an Elf a little more fierce. The fun part about making someone new is everyone in the RP can shape him/her.
Also in Gondor, The King is definatly dead, and I think the heir should be killed too, but maybe he had a son who is prisoner in the wizards camp, or somthing? A twist?

I like both ideas as well. Perhaps we could establish a link between the elven ruler of Rivendell with, say, the elves of Mirkwood. Maybe she could be a cousin of Legolas.
Regarding a ruler for Gondor, how about a return of the Stewards since the second heir of Elessar has been kidnapped by the blue wizards? We could use Faramir or a son of Faramir.
BTW, Necromancer, how did you like DC? You were a hop, skip and a jump from where I live:)

Yeah we are moving! I made a Profile for our kidnapped heir, and you will see a big twist I put in, if you read it. But Eriasor will say nothing of this till at least Rivendell, ok?
Name: Nunberaid, which means Son Star of Aragorn
Race: Ranger of the North
Sex:Male
Age: 500
Family: In the line of King Elesser, Engilan was the son of now deceased Ranger Eriasor, who fought in the War of the South. He has taken leadership of the Dunedain. It is not uncommon to for him to walkl into a room and hear: Nurahaion, which means: the king has come.
Description: He looks almost iddentical to Isildur, indeed some men trembles when the saw him, for they thought it was the appocolipse. He is normally dressed in his Ranger garb, and he has a brooch of a star upon his shoulder.
Weapons: Narsil, though none know it, for he has never unsheathed it. He has hidden it with his clothing, for he was not checked over well when entering the camp of the Blue Wizards.
