Well, I thought I would post a brief advertisment for a small play by email game I am involved with, in the hope of attracting new members.

The Fifth Age is played over a mailing list, and each player takes over one realm of Middle-Earth (there are 16 in all). Basically, you control it and act as a king (or queen). Obviously, it can't get too complicated, but there's a structured system for military updates and battles. So you can ally with people and attack others and so on.

The list has just over gone a major revamp, by me, so we're looking to recruit to get the game up and running again. We have 9 or 10 kingdoms up for grabs, so if you like role playing, and would be interested in playing or in finding out more information, please PM and I can email you the application pack.

We do have a website, it being www.topica.com/lists/TheFifthAge , however, there isn't much there, it just gives you a bit of info about the list.

Members will need to be commited to playing, just dissapearing without warning is annoying and it disrupts game play.

Well, I look forward to receiving a huge number of PM's :D

This particular PBEM is very enjoyable, although it is a comitment its not VERY time consuming and is really quite fun. As Craig said it has just gone through a major revamp and we havent been running for a while however it is that good of a game to sit around and wait for it.

The URL doesn't work for me either.

It works for me, so I assume it's because you're at school. Your school's server will have blocked Topica due to it being email-related or something. That's why you can't get it in my school. Anyway, I've just looked at it, and it doesn't really tell you any more than I already have.

However, if you do want to know more, just tell me and I can email you the application pack. It's only 300kb :)

As I'm not at school, since I graduated 2 years ago- that is not the problem, Craig.
Infact, it is now working, so I presume that their server was temporarily down.

Come on people this is a great game, and for those of you who think you may not know enough Tolkien well then your wrong LOTR is fine of course the more the better. The game is very fun and simple you should at least follow the link.

To whom it may concern

We have 6 spaces available now, a few have been taken up. We're looking to get started properly on June 1st - that isn't a deadline for new members, you can still join after that. So if anyone's still interested, now's your chance.

Just Kidding:rolleyes:

So it is. Our game has gotten off to a good start but its frozen now due to Craig's leadership conference.

It wasn't a conference as such - it was a week away funded by the Rotary Club where I got to build my leadership skills, meet new people and generally have a great time. It was at an outdoor activity centre, so we did a lot of stuff like rock climbing and wind surfing.

Ahem, to get back on track now - I'll sort out the list again now I'm back either tonight or tomorrow - it's looking increasingly like tomorrow now due to the huge pile of stuff I have to catch up on, including sleep...

Sadly, due to restrictions on my time, I'm unable to run the list anymore, and as no one has stepped forward to take over, the list is closing permenantly tomorrow. Which is sad, because it's been going a long time, but I'm just too busy (which also explains my abscene on here as well). So, you're too late :(
