I like to consider myself something of an artist... when I'm in a good mood ^.^
Anywah... I'll be posting some random psychobabble and artisticfulness, which is probably going to consist largely of LotR fanart--mostly potraits--on this thread from time to time, starting with this:
Legolas/Orlando Bloom Portrait
#2 Pencil... I think. Probably mixed with ebony.
I did this drawing more than a year ago, at age 14, right after the first movie came out. Because the movie-Legolas is very pretty, go him. Anywah... I'm aware of its imperfections, mostly in the mouth, and the lact of detail in the hair--that's because I was only really focusing on the face. Constructive criticism is welcome, as well as just comments... But keep in mind that this was the first real photorealistic portrait I'd ever done. I've developed some since then ^^
And yes, this is from a picture--a picture that many of you have probably seen ^.~

It was pretty good, to sat you were just 14 when you did it. I am speaking as a young artist (sort of) aswell, and must agree that Legolas is indeed pretty.
Oh, and why don't you get some more up to date work on?

14?
are you gonna take art as a proffesion?

Thanks, Cel :) You can see this f'real and on paper an' stuff this weekend! Go us!
I'll be gettin' some more up-to-date artwork up soon... just gotta find some that I like and is suitable for dis' place.
I dunno if I'll take art as a full-time profession. Mayhap. Or I may just have another job and work freelance on the side. Whatever works for me, I suppose :)
And while we're at it, have a rose.
Rose!
Ebony pencil.
Part of an art project earlier this year, a coupla months ago. It's about 3' by 3' and in ebony pencil... Good photorealistic stuff. I used to hate photorealism, but now... I've started to do more of it and enjoy it quite a lot more. Hmm.

I, for one, would love to check out your work.
For starters, you need to have a scanner to scan the pics onto your hard drive. After that, just save it somewhere as a .jpg (jpeg format is most convenient, I've found), then start a thread for your gallery here! Under where you type there's a section titled "Attach file:" then a blank and a 'Browse...' button. Hit 'Browse...' and then find the file that you scanned, hit 'Open', and then submit your post. It should upload it along with your text.

Thankjoo verra much, Celebthôl :)
Moonrose Stormpaw (Art Trade #2)
Drawn in mechanical pencil (huzzah.), colored in Adobe PhotoDeluxe.
This, obviously, -points at title- was an art trade. My half of an art trade. With Emilee, whose half was very much better than mine. -drools-
Still... I rather like this piece, even if the anatomy is a bit off. She's an anthropomorphic mouse, and an albino anthropomorphic mouse, at that. A very cool character, indeed.
And the all stylized-ish black writing next to her says her name, for those who hadn't figured that out already.
I heart PhotoDeluxe.

Another amazing picture, well done, but what is written on the bottom right hand corner? and who wrote it?
Jericho

In the bottom corner it says 'Her side of art trade so very exceedingly insanely painfully much better... -_- UGH.'
And it was written by me, in my odd handwriting. -rueful smile-

Ask someone at school for help with your scanner/the scanning process, since there's so many different programs and scanners and such out there that I can't really help you there...
Moonrose Stormpaw (edited)
Drawn in #2 pencil, edited in Microsoft Image Composer.
A MIC smoosh... because I got bored. Moonrose herself wrote the poem that's above the pic, so be nice and don't steal it or anything ^.^ I'm not really sure what I did to this pic anymore... I think it's mostly half-tone work an' such. Just playing around with all sortsa colors and filters and various things.

Aielyas
Drawn, again, in #2 pencil, colored in PhotoDeluxe. At about 4:00 in the morning.
He's my undead Ixi-thing. Drew him on impulse because I couldn't sleep, colored him the next day. His name is Aielyas. Yes... you needed to know all of that.

lol, Cel, I dun' believe you hafta be a member... I'm not!
Hee.
I draw tattoos! Designed and sold them to a parlor for awhile, even, and plan on doing so again should I find someone else that can hook me up. Good money in that... -evilgrin-
Mm, body art.
Tribal... Splatter.
Some sorta pen, I don't remember. And scanned in pure black and white instead of true color--that's why it's so defined.
I really like this. The tribal thing on the right was me being bored, but the droptag on the top left says 'Paradox', the name of a band that I know a couple of the members of. Did it for them, for kicks. I designed a lot of stuff for people like this... And as you probably figured out, the lower left says 'Paradox' as well. That's my handwriting. Like, my normal handwriting. Except for the arrows. Unless I have nothing better to do. My writing tends to get more elaborate as I get bored.
Yay for cornerpieces and dots.
