The workshop will consist of reading groups, online tutors to help with all your questions and group discussions.

We will be starting with the hobbit and working through Tolkiens works.

Please post to let me know if you are interested.

Thank you

Yes, I think I'd like to take part and help develop your initiative if I can.
You can count me. Moreover, I'm going to refresh my memory on some subjects.
Anyway, I'd like to welcome any other member who would like to participate too.:)

Well, since I've taken over this project for Samjor I guess I should start by restarting it, shouldn't I?:)

The way I see it, most newbies to Tolkien's works here at TTF will be movie fans so the first thing I want to do here is create an outline of the differences between the movies and the books. This would be to make sure people understand that Newline Cinema's Lord of the Rings, however based upon, is not Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.

After that, yes a walk through and discussion of the Hobbit would be in order, wouldn't it? Many people read the Hobbit and most, like myself, forget most of it. Along with this book walk through and discussions there has to be some way for people to express if they are confused, so after each chapter maybe some of the more experienced Tolkien readers can clear up any confusions people have (volunteers?:)).

This is just the beginning of what I have so far, these two things. It is obviously early in the stages of planning and setting up, but suggests and comments are welcome.

So when do we start this outline about differences between the movies and the books? And where?
