HI!
I Have already tried in the New Members' section with no luck. Following instructions, here I am. I have two questions. Is there a book about the languages of the Middle-earth and what is the word for 'Peace' in Sindarin or Quenya?
Hope to get answers soon. Bye!

Hmm, you seemed to have left your caps lock on last time.. :)
Welcome to the forums!

There are probably tens of books written about Sindarin and Quenya. Sadly only a few of these are as correct as possible. AN excellent (but outdated) book to get if you want extra linguistic background on the languages is a book called An Introduction to Elvish, by a person called Jim Allan.

But if you want some straightforward, accurate information about the languages, please visit a place called Ardalambion (http://www.ardalambion.com) (Arda = the World; lambë = tongue, language). It is the best site, and maybe the best place after the existing Quenya/Sindarin scholars such as a Helge Fruskrauger (oops, not sure about that surname) to get information about the languages, and all others used in Tolkien's books.
Have fun!

It's Fauskanger

But Helge is used to it (he once got a Friskyburger ;))

Sindarin: sîdh

You hear it in TTT when Legolas prays under his breath...

hiro hyn hîdh ab 'wanath
may they find peace after death

(the h is a mutation that happens if it's a direct object)

Sorry, don't know Quenya yet. :) But check Ardalambion (http://www.ardalambion.com), which should have links to a Quenya dictionary or two!

From Ardalambion's look at Fíriels's Song'

In LR:385 s.v. SED, a word sére "rest, repose, peace" is listed. The literal meaning of the Elvish text seems to be, not really "my heart resteth not", but rather *"there is not [any] rest for my heart". ~Helge F.
