Farathorn stood awaiting his students in the middle of a clearing in the nearby forest. The path that lead to the clearing was not at all difficult to find, but he left instructions on the Dorm, as how to get there.

For this occasion, the half elf had left his swords in his house, which for him was a rather unusual thing to do. Clad in a simple pair of darkgreen, linnen breeches and a brown leather tunic, he calmly took a seat on a tree trunk.

This is how the students found him, as they arrived one by one.

Sarin strode down the path slowly as usaul, but he was filled with excitement. This was the class he had been waiting for and was his specialty. He came to Scatha and sat down on the ground next to him after a polite greeting waiting for all the others.

Farathorn greeted his students and motioned them to sit down.
"Quel re everyone. I shall be your teacher for the next few weeks, unless the original instructor will return to full duty."

He calmly came to a stand and looked his students over.
"Hello Sarin, good to see you here. Charmaina, I seem to run into you in nearly all my classes." Then his eyes fell on Phenix and he extended his hand to him. "I don't believe we met before, I am Farathorn."

Grandlyon came in the clearing with a tired face on. The dwarf was trying to catch his breath and also trying to resist the urge to go after Farathron for making such a hard to find class. He was carrying one weopon his large double handed battle axe. He still brought it even though it was a hand to hand combat class. "Good afternoon Farathorn. It seems you like us to wander aimlessly through the woods. Don't you." He said toi Farathorn.

Phenix grabed farathorn hand " ah master Farathorn, It's a pleasure too meet you. I'm Phenix." he said and looked at the teacher...

Lita arrived in the clearing, shuffling her feet and looking rather downcast. Her eyes were red, but her face was lined with anger, and every now and then she would clench her fists and mutter to herself. " 'Lo, all," she grunted, then sat down on the grass with a sigh and a soft curse.

When the hobbit noticed the concerned looks of the students and the teacher, she looked up and said, "It's Licale. I can't find him anywhere. He's run off before, but not like this. If anything's happened to him, I"ll..." She clenched her fists again and went off into a string of mutterings under her breath.

Farathorn grinned at Grandlyon, remembering the dwarf from his earlier classes. "Aimlessly is hardly what I'd call it, after all, you did get here."

Calmly he turned to the rest, eyeing Lita in particular.
"Do not worry, Lita, a dog will return as soon as it gets hungry, knowing that it will get fed by it's master. Hello everyone, glad to see you have all made it here. Most people here have had to fight another person at one time or another, what I will do is to teach you to do so more effectively. Please rise everyone."

Sarin rose onto his feet slowly. He looked around at his other classmates then back at the teacher waiting for the lesson to begin very eager to learn something.

Farathorn glanced at Sarin and nodded towards him.
"The first thing you will learn is to dodge or block, then to counter.
Sarin, as you are the first to get on your feet, care to assist me in a little demonstration?"

The half elf walked towards his student and took a stance before him. "I would like you to slowly move, as if you were trying to hit me. This way I can show you all a few basic movements, that will improve your skills fast."

Then the instructor stood ready to move.

He cracked his back as the teacher walking over in case they had to do some more advanced manuevers. Sarin then smiled and threw his arm slowly forward towards Scatha's chest. He watched the movements of his teacher wondering which method he was going to use to dodge.

Charmiana watched as The teacher showed the class the basic manouvers. These were the essentials to good combat if you could not do this right then you would be in a bad situation when you tried the more compliocated stuff. Nevertheless Charmiana wished the class would go just a wee bit faster. Immidiatly after this thought went to her head she realized she was being unfair, many people were getting their first try at this.

Celebrien dashed into the clearing, realized that he was very late and quickly took a position next to Charmiana. "How much have I missed?" he whispered quietly into her ear. "Not too much, pretty easy stuff so far anyways." she replied. Farathorn nodded at Celebrien to indicate he wasn't mad. The class continued to go through their fighting routines.

Farathorn moved his torso aside slowy, while he grabbed the wrist of Sarin and calmly pulled on it. Sarin, now being pulled off balance, moved forwards with the momentum of the pull. The instructor rose his leg, which he kicked towards Sarin's lower abdomen, but stopped just before hitting him.

The half elf turned to the rest and spoke.
"Of course, once you pulled the opponent off balance, there is a multitude of things you can do at that time. You can strike him with your hand, one of my personal favorite moves is to step in while hitting at the throat. But do not test this particular move with your fellow students."

Sarin gave everyone a sly little smile. "But never be complacent either." He then reached down then grabbed Farathorn's leg with his left hand. With his right one he lifted both of their arms up and over Farathorn's head simultaneously pulling outward on Farathorn's leg. This spun him around and the force moved Sarin back onto balance while he had the instructor standing on one leg.

A mischievious smile crossed Farathorn's face, before he leaped up and kicked Sarin in the chest with his other foot. The force leaving him no choice but to let go, as he is pushed back. As he lands, Farathorn catched himself with his hands, then quickly got on to his feet again.

"Nice move, Sarin. But I didn't follow up on that kick, as it was just to demonstrate a point. I am not here to harm you, but to teach you to harm your opponent, while staying unharmed if possible yourselves."

A wry grin and a sparkle came to his face.
"Would you be able to do that move in full speed?"

Sarin stood up and dusted himself off. "Surely this is my only form of combat and hae devoted most of time to it." Sarin took up an offensive fighting stance and slowly advanced on the teacher. With a quick flurry of guarded hand movements he tried to draw Farathorn's attention there. When he saw his eyes upwards he jumped spinning his body and catching his left foot on Farathorn's side. In addition to dealing the blow he used it as a foot hold to push himself off and landing behin his opponent.

Farathorm moved with the blow to lessen it's effect, then turned around to Sarin. The half elf closes in on him and faked the intent to grab him with his left hand, then turned further and around his axis in a swift but precize move, while stretching out his right arm. The fist swept Sarin off his feet, as it came in contact with the side of his head.

"Good move, young man. I can still improve your skills however."

OOC: Nice post Mablung. Difficult move, but well described.

Sarin reached his arms downwards as he fell and twisted his body so his legs were falling over his head. He caught himself on his arms not keeping his head from touching the ground but lessening the blow so it did no damage then twisted his legs bringing them into the back of Farathorn's knees dropping him down. Then continuing through he used the momentum to right himself kneeling next to Farathorn. "I guess you can still learn a few things as well."

ooc: If it wasn't the only form of combat my character used or ever learned I probably wouldn't have tried it.

Farathorn grinned widely and shook his head, then proceeded to stand and helped Sarin up. "Good to see that I have at least one advanced student in here."

He turned to the rest of the class and smiled.
"How about we pair up in teams and practise some of the moves I showed, before this got out of hand?"

OOC: Good work Mablung. :)

Sarin stood next to Farathorn and shook himself a bit to get the dust off. "Yes do go easy. Injuries can occur even without an actual weapon."

Celebrien turned to Charmiana and asked "Would you like to face off a little bit?" "Sure, Celebrien, I'd be happy to." She said with a slight smirk. They slowly circled each other, throwing a few light punches every couple minutes.

OOC: Charmiana, check the Dorms, I'm going to post the beginning of our "dinner." :D

"You think you are ready for me? O don't think you can handle the pressure."

"Big words"

"Too bad this is a practise fight...I have a thing for moves which are not usually permitted.

"Ready to start?"

"Lets go"

OOC:

Eol, good post, as usual.

Charmaina, Try and switch between actions/movements and speach. Just speach is a little thin, which I know you can do better. :)
