State your favourite Quotes!!!

I will direct you to my sig...

Homer: I agree with you Marge...in THEORY. In THEORY Communism works!

Hehehe Homer's such a bafoon.;)

How many people actually know where the Simpson's live? It was only said in one episode what state they are from....

The_Swordmaster
04-17-2003, 10:03 PM
Yes finally a Simpsons Society. Can I join.

I think they live in Kanasas. I know the episode they told you were they where from. It was the Behind the Laughter episode.

Err, what are Simpsons? Are they something like Flinstones?

Mablung

My favorite episode when was Homer joined the Navy Reserves actually.

Aulë
04-18-2003, 10:02 AM
I don't think that they've ever revealed the state that they're in. Marge almost said Ohio in the episode where Homer & The Gang went to the Superbowl (a classic episode), and quite a few states have been ruled out.
I actually don't think they suppost to be in a particular state, since it's a fictional town and all.

The best character IMO would be good ol' Disco Stu. Hehe, what a legend! :)

Woo! A Simpson's guild - count me in :D Not an hour ago I was watching the one with 'la maison derriere', very funny. Damn the BBC though, they've cut down the number of Simpson's episodes per week just now, for some stupid Treasure Hunt quiz show. Wasting my (parents) TV liscence money on pointless game shows

Feanorian

Can I join I am a Simpson, Jon Simpson. I love the simpsons greatest cartoon ever. Its hard to pinpoint an exact favorite episode, but one of my favorites is the one when Homer gets medicinal Marijuana.

Aulë
04-18-2003, 08:17 PM
Yes, all are welcome. :)

I'm very happy at the moment. There were 4 Simpsons episodes on today! (And considering that I only have access to 4 TV channels, that's pretty good.) We get about 12 episodes a week (One of which is new)

Bart vs. Australia (One of my favourites, since I can quote the lines with the perfect accent) was on today, along with the Burns's Recycling Plant episode, the Musical Simpsons episode and the Clown College one.

Anyway, my Simpsons quote of the day is:
Homer: That's it! You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college! [leaves]
Bart: I don't think any of us expected him to say that.
:D

Seeing as you're from Pakistan, I'll let you off on this lack of knowledge ;) The Simpsons is a cartoon, set around a family - Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. It's incredibly funny, and very popular. I couldn't give you an official website, but the BBC one is (I think) www.bbc.co.uk/cult/simpsons
Aule:
the Musical Simpsons episode
I hate all musical episodes of anything - they're just annoying and completely pointless - especially that one in Buffy a while back, it was all I could do just to watch all of it

Can I join? I love the simpsons but everyone in my house hates it so I don't watch it much :( but I know what state Springfield is in I think. Illinois?

The_Swordmaster
04-18-2003, 10:24 PM
Well your correct thier is a Springfeild in Illinois but it is not the Simpsons' Springfeild. I think we should do a quote game. What do you say to that Aule.

Anamatar IV
04-18-2003, 11:13 PM
Aule, in the Behind the Laughter episode it was revealed that Springfield in the Simpsons is from Northern Kentucky! Probably just a random state but it's still knowledge.

I've always thought of these two scenes as the funniest:

[Lisa and Bart are sitting upside down on the couch]
[Marge walks in]
Bart: Allowence time! *ding ding ding*
Marge: You two don't deserve allowence!
Lisa: Sure we do!
Bart and Lisa: *ding ding ding ding ding*
[Homer comes running in]
Homer: Ice cream truck Ice cream truck!

and

[Bart and Marge are doing things by the window while Homer TRIES to put together a barbeque set]
Marge: Is your father done with his project?
Bart: Almost
Homer: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH [while running with an umbrella using it as a javlynn. He jams the umbrella into the "bbq set" and falls backwards. The ubrella opens as he falls]
Bart: Yeah, he's done.

:D

Site with slmost all the Simpsons scripts on it: http://www.snpp.com/episodes.html

OK, here's some awesome Hans Moleman quotes:

"Hello, this is Moleman in the morning. Good Moleman to you. Today part four of our series of the agonizing pain in which I live every daaaay."

"Oh no, I just made the last payment."
- Just before his AMC Gremlin hits a tree and explodes

My name is Hans. Drinking has ruined my life. I'm 31 years old!
-- Introduces himself at the Alc-Anon meeting

And now I want you to meet your new brother: Hans Moleman.
[Hans walks in dressed like Bart, holding a skateboard]
Hans: Cowabunga, dudes.
[Homer kisses him repeatedly]
Homer: Try it. It's like kissing a peanut! Heh heh heh.

Homer: Uh...excuse me, Mr. Burns?
Burns: [gasps] Poppin' Fresh! You glutinous little doughboy.
[Homer morphs into Poppin' Fresh in Burns' mind]
[chuckles] There's something I've wanted to do to you for
years!
[starts poking his stomach; Homer laughs]
Homer: [getting his eyes poked at] Ow! Heh, Mr. Burns? I, er, was
wondering if you'd like to sponsor my bowling team...for...
$500.
Burns: Ho ho, why, certainly, Poppin' Fresh! I owe my robust
physique to your tubes of triple-bleached goo.
Homer: Woo hoo! [runs out] Hey, everybody: if you want to ask Burns
for a favor, now's the time! He's doped up, or dying, or
something.
Hans: [running in] Uh, excuse me: I'd like to request $17 for a
push-broom rebristling. [shows broom with no bristles on it]
Burns: Why, it's that delightful TV leprechaun. I'm going to get
your Lucky Charms. [starts a drill]
Hans: Oh, no: my brains.

Ah yes, the Aussie quotes. I can say them with the perfect accent :)

Homer: Hey give me one of those famous giant beers I've heard so much about.
Bartender: Something wrong yank?
Homer: Oh it's pretty big. I guess.

Marge: I'll just have a cup of coffee.
Bartender: Beer it is.
Marge: No, I said "coffee."
Bartender: "Beer."
Marge, slowly, enunciating: Coff-ee.
Bartender: Be-er.
Marge: C, O -
Bartender: B, E -

Owner: [sweeping a bunch of toads out] Get out, get out! Shoo, shoo.
Get out of here, yuck! These bloody things are everywhere.
They're in the lift, in the lorry, in the bond wizard, and all
over the malonga gilderchuck.
Clerk: They're like kangaroos, but they're reptiles, they is.
Marge: We have them in America. They're called bullfrogs.
Clerk: What? That's an odd name. I'd have called them "chazzwazzers".

Bruno: Ooh! Ah, that's it. I'm going to report this to me member of
parliament. [yells out window] Hey, Gus! I got something to
report to you.
[Gus tends his swine]
Gus: That's a bloody outrage, it is! I want to take this all the way
to the Prime Minister.
[they go down to a lake]
Hey! Mr. Prime Minister! Andy!
Andy: [floating naked on an inner tube with a beer] Eh, mates! What's
the good word?

Bruno: Nine hundred dollary-doos? Tobias! Did you accept a six hour
collect call from the States?
Tobias: It was an emergency call from the International Drainage
Commission in Springfield.
Bruno: Oh my God! There's nothing wrong with the bidet, is there?

"Talking out of turn...that's a paddling. Looking out the window...that's a paddling. Staring at my sandals...that's a paddling. Paddling the school canoe...ooh, you better believe that's a paddling."

happy, Lisa.
Mufasa: [appearing in the cloud] You must avenge my death,
Kimba -- I mean, Simba.
Darth Vader: [appearing in the cloud] Luke, I am your father.

Are the questions from any simpsons episod right?

Theoden_king
05-09-2003, 02:26 PM
Yes.

Alright, Homer and Marge met in detention but what were each of them in for? for a correct answer, two parts need to be given, what Marge did to get there and what Homer did.

Aulë
05-09-2003, 02:58 PM
Marge was in detention for burning her bra in a women's rights movement protest.
Homer was in detention for skipping wood shop class.

OK, for the next question, you have to say what the main plot line for the episode was:
'Bart starts up a Super-Barto Jackpot Drawing game in the dryer in the Simpsons' basement, and gets a few dozen kids to come along. Unfortunately, he blows up the dryer and breaks the gas lines.
The Simpsons can't afford the repair bill though, so Marge decides to sell her Grandma's Civil War doll to an antique store.'

FoolOfATook

Where Homer instantly befriends the owner, before discovering that the owner is actually gay. This gives rise to Homerphobia, until John, the owner, saves Homer, Bart, Moe and Barney from crazed reindeer, who Homer was trying to get Bart to shoot in order to make Bart "a man".

Who's picture did Bart use when he responded to his teacher's personal ad?

Theoden_king
05-09-2003, 03:18 PM
The main plotline?
Homer's phobia
Homer meets a homosexual named John and worrys that he will have a bad influence on Bart.

Is that what you mean?

Aulë
05-09-2003, 03:19 PM
Gordie Howe

It is from the simpsons, go to http://www.treehouse.com.ar/index
It is a Simpsons (and Futurama) Forum, just like TTF is a tolkien forum.

That is where I got the question, go to General simpsons discussion, the go to Top Ten Homer quotes read all the posts. It's in there somewhere.

Is FREEDOM! going to post another question anytime soon or is someone else going to have to do it?

I have just seen the episode where Homer frees the real owner of the power plant and he becomes the new boss and fires Mr. Burns. I laughed so hard at the lego land buildings that attack people, I think I was just in one of those moods because looking back it really wasn't that funny.

Wolfshead
06-10-2003, 06:02 PM
Well, he ain't posting, so I'll go ahead with one :D

"So the cops realised internal affairs was setting them up?!?"

Theoden_king
06-13-2003, 10:55 AM
Is the question which episode that quote is from? If so the episode is called "The joy of sect"

Homer signs himself and his family to a cult called the movementarians who are promised admitance to "Blisstonia" known for it's high level of Bliss, the followers of the cult are brainwashed but Marge escapes and hires groundskeeper Willy to kidknap her family and deprogram them. Bart and Lisa return to their normal selves but Homer goes back to the movementarians apparntly still brainwashed, he opens the 'forbidden barn' and denounces The Leader.

The quote;
Wait, I'm confused about the movie... so the cops knew internal affairs were setting them up?

was referring to a movie that the movementarians made their guest watch, Homer has a short attention span and makes up his own movie.

Aulë
06-13-2003, 06:45 PM
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah Leader!
Nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah Leader!

Quite a summary there, TK. We ought to bow, or something. There was me just quoting from what had been on the tv a couple of days before...

My Deep Thought was a hit to that episode as well - it's one of my favourites :D

Theoden_king
06-16-2003, 11:53 AM
It is a very good episode. I can't think of anything at the moment so I'll just go with Whats Homer's next line?

Homer: Well, the evening began at the gentleman's club, where we were discussing Wichtenstein over a game of backgammon.

Scully: Mr. Simpson, it's a felony to lie to the F.B.I.

Homer:

Nothing to do with the quiz but I really like this conversation between Lou, Eddie and Chief Wiggum,

Lou: You know I went to the McDonald's in Shelbyville on Friday night.

Wiggum: A what?

Lou: A McDonald's restaurant. Eh, I never heard of it either, but they have over two thousand locations in this state alone.

Eddie: Must've sprung up overnight.

Lou: You know the funniest thing, though, it's the little differences.

Wiggum: Example?

Lou: Well, at McDonald's you can buy a Krusty Burger with cheese, right? But they don't call it a Krusty Burger with cheese.

Wiggum: Get out! What do they call it?

Lou: A quarter pounder with cheese.

A little Pulp Fiction parody there.

Wolfshead
06-16-2003, 07:17 PM
Yeah, quite a nice Pulp Fiction parody :)

I know the episode you mean with the quote, but I couldn't tell you what the next line is.

Has anyone seen how after Homer all comedic cartoons have a stupid character very similar to Homer. One such example would be Peter from Family Guy which by the way is almost as funny as The Simpsons and Bill from King of The Hill they both have similar Homer manerisms. Infact in one episode they made fun of Family Guy and Peter although I cant remember the exact episode.

Who in the what now? I wanna join:D The Simpsons is just so fricken awesome. The only cartoons I find funnier are Monty Python cartoons... (Those things are really funny!) Anyway, I'm asuming all you's peoples know where the simpsons live. Even rookies can figure that one out. And yes, Hank, Peggy, and Bobby were sitting in the stands during a game in the episode where Ned was the coach and stuff... I believe it went, "HANK: We (came or drove) 2000 miles for this?!" So anyway... I've just asked my trivia question; What state do the Simpson's live in?

Aulë
09-01-2003, 02:28 PM

And, I REALLLY want to know what state the Simpsonn's live in. How do you knokw?!

Aulë
09-01-2003, 05:48 PM
No one knows.
Matt Groening has never revealed it.
Why, you ask? Because the Simpsons are FICTIONAL!

Some people keep on coming up with theories (Like we discussed earlier on in this thread), but Springfield does not belong to any U.S. state.

Khôr’nagan
09-01-2003, 05:58 PM
Kentucky. They said so in the "Behind-The-Scenes" special they did. It went something like, "What's this Kentucky family going to do next?" I forget the exact context, but I do remember 'thiis Kentucky family' very vividly. I believe they did it in a way that you weren't paying attention to what they were saying at the time, like drawing your attention toward something going on on the screen rather than what's being said. I didn't even notice it when I watched it, my friend said later that they said it, and sure enough, the next time I saw it, it was there. (By the way, the comment 'Even rookies can figure that one out' was sarcastic.)

BlackCaptain
09-01-2003, 06:08 PM
Ohhh yeah I remember that! I think that would be too obvious though wouldn't it?

Aulë
09-01-2003, 06:19 PM
Ah yes- but Kentucky is not a coastal state.
In the cartoon- Springfield is on the ocean (Remember the shipment of Hot Pants in the "soul mate" episode? Remember the time Willy was deported because of the illegal immigrant laws? The fact that there's a rocky shoreline and a lighthouse (even one operated by E.A.R.L) clearly shows oceanfront.)

There's no Evergreen Terrace (nor Evergreen St., Ct., Ave., Blvd., etc) in Springfield KY. And Texas is only 1200 miles away from Springfield KY, not 2000 like Hank Hill said during his cameo in the "football" episode.

The thing you must remember is that it wasn't a 'proper' episode. Kang and Kodos were featured, for goodness sake! Do you take the Halloween episodes seriously?

Also, it was changed to Southern Missouri a few repeats later.

Khôr’nagan

Homer no function beer well without. - (Homer) Well, if you can't trust the unknown narrator, who can you trust? The Germans? Ooh, the Germans are mad at me. I'm so scared! Oooh, the Germans! - (Mr. Burns)

Oh, and what's more, people on the Simpsons are idiots. [Stone flies through office window] 'Look Smithers, a bird has become petrified and lost its sense of direction.' Doesn't that give you a bit of an idea?

Aulë
09-01-2003, 06:34 PM
Hehe- I just found out that Andy Serkis did the voice of Gollum in that Simpsons episode (Ep Name: 'Dude Where's My Ranch?'). :D
