Am I blind or something? I can't find the LOTR quotable quotes! Even with the search function they seem to have disappeared! What happened?

They are here (http://www.thetolkienforum.com/showthread.php?threadid=2916). I moved it to the Bag End forum.

Well - it must be contagious, because I can't find it either:confused:

Maybe a mod's move it or deleted it. or maybe the thread has on it's magic ring;)

edit just seen Nom's post. Can I ask why? and will you be moving The Hobbit Quotes as well?

I just moved it because it was a game and not a discussion. As for the Hobbit one, I will move it too, I just hadn't got around to doing it yet.

I'm afraid I don't see what the problem is. Bag End is in a 'General Discussion' area anyway, so what's the difference? Does this mean the Trivia both The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings will also be moved, as will the Quiz/Trivia in the Hall of Fire.

When I first join the forum I stuck to the LotRs and Hobbit areas because those books I knew. I got into the swing of things with thoses threads. I didn't venture to 'General Discussions' until much later on.

I will state I am not happy with the move and planned moves. I don't see the 'quotes' as just a game - it familarises the reader with the book and sometimes it leads on to further discussions. Taking them out of the relative book areas makes no sense. Being labeled a 'game' seems to demean it's participants below those in 'true' discussions.

I viewed it as being less "serious", so stuck it where the more light-heared threads go.
I did not know that people would be unhappy with this, I'm going to move them back, since people are unhappy and there is no good reason they can not stay in in these LotR and Hobbit forums... aside form (apparantly) my personal prefference?

Thanks Nóm. I just couldn't see the point of it that's all - I cut my teeth on them so to speak as others may have done - which is why I felt I had to say I was unhappy with the change.

No hard feelings I hope:)

It's no problem, certainly I would have spoke up and expected others to do the same if they had questions or disagreements. I am not happy about being told that my actions on a new job (that I go into timidly) make no sense though - but I'm just a very sensitive person in that way.

Anyhow, if no one objects this thread should be moved to member announcements. I guess?

Maybe sensitive isn't a good characteristic for a mod. We need to make some enquiries about the availability of dragon hide perhaps.;)
We all have differing points of view, the hard bit is trying to get the balance between them.
Humans are also 'creatures of habit' and we tend not to like change - maybe if you need to move a thread, you could give us notice - like eg - from so & so date this thread will be located here instead of here because....... It's just a thought and not directed at you personally.

And I'm still glad you're staying on as a mod.:)
