Hi This is my first post to the message-board.
I know the release date on LOTR.net for Return of the King is Wed Dec 17th 2003.
Does anyone have any details about the Wellington New Zealand world premiere release date ie the first world-wide showing.

I ask this as my wife is a great LOTR Fan an I am hoping to book Flights etc for her to be there at the world premiere release as a secret surprize for her.

thanks for any help anyone has.It still may be to early yrt for details too.

Don't know the date of it, but I did a quick search at TORn and there was an article about someone arranging accomodation for people who were planning on being there, so I'm assuming they'd know. Emailing them might be your best bet for info. Here's the link to the article about it: http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/7/1045112046

Might I say what a lucky lady your wife is. :)

I checked out that article, and the only date mentioned was December, so I'll bet Wellington is opening "The Return of the King" about the same time as everyone else (Dec. 17??).

My family and I are going to New Zealand for the whole month of August (can't wait), but we'll be way too early for the movie opening. Does anyone know of any final filming that Peter Jackson is planning to do in August?

My son Jonathan (age 7) looks just like a Little Frodo, and he's hoping to meet Elijah Wood (you can check out Jonathan's photo on my website).

I would appreciate any info. anyone could give me!

I met a family from Wellington, and they told me that most of the movie sets were torn down. That's a shame, because LOTR fans and tourists like me would have loved to see Rivendale or Lothlorian. The one remaining set is in the North Island, a couple of hours drive south of Auckland. You can find out about it at New Zeland's premier website, www.purenz.com/

Apparently there was some trouble with the Wellington premiere, but it seems solved now. TORn had some news about it.
