Why are you greatful for The Tolkien Forum?
Here is a thread made to thank WebMaster for allowing us the privelige of using his bandwidth on this superb Forum,
I would like to thank him for many reasons:
1) This is the best Lord Of The Rings forum I have come accross, the people here are awesome and for the most part its a pretty balanced in the way it is run :)
2) The people on here are great, and I know many of them as friends now and without the forum, I would not have met any of them.
3) Without this forum i would never have met Oren (the love of my life) and I am more grateful for this reason above all the others :)
4) It has kept me from lots of trouble in real life, as if I had never found this forum then i would be hanging around with the drop-outs and I would become a drop-out myself, I would also be subject to alcahol and drugs on a weekly basis and I would hate that, so this has kept me from lots of troubles :)
Thanks a whole bunch WebMaster :D

I was absolutely stricken when I first found the (original! woohoo) Tolkien forum; at last a place where people could discuss Tolkien in-depth and properly! But I was still flabbergasted by the utter depth of the discussions, and the interesting debates that took form. I owe most, if not all, of my Tolkien-knowledge (still rather lacking) to TTF.
But it wasn't before I became a Moderator myself that I realized that the forum was not just a fun place to talk about Tolkien's works, it was a system that needed constant upkeeping. Despite my position I have, however, tried to be a Member as much as a Mod.
And I have noticed so many fabulous features on TTF that I have seen nowhere else, or in very few places: the Warning point system, the 'Report post to Moderator' option, the larger team of Mods than on many websites, the real interest and participation of the WM himself, and the level of discussion which has been kept at an almost constant.
HOORAY FOR WM!! THREE CHEERS FOR THE TOLKIENOLOGIST!! :D :D

- Thanks WM for keeping Thol out of trouble:D
- Not many things are free today, so thanks WM for providing a free place for us to share our love of Tolkien & his works and meet many interesting people from around the world.

Not many of my real-life friends know anything about Tolkien or are willing to learn about his works, so I always felt alone in my love for Tolkien. TTF for me has been aplace where I can discuss Tolkien's works with people who are as crazy about them as me, and who respect my opinions, even if I say something stupid. And I have met many nice people here who I consider my friends, and are as valuable to me as my real-life friends.
So hurray and thanks for WM!!!!

I am grateful for more than I could say here...
For one thing, where else can we meet such wonderful people with such a great knowledge of Tolkien? And that's only a small part of it.

I am grateful for the Tolkien forum because,
1. It is the most "Homely" Tolkien forum I have ever come across.
2. For enhancing my common sense and my Tolkien knowledge. I have learned a lot from the time I joined this forum.
3. For providing me with people with whom I can discuss the works of a Genius which I love. I don't know a single person in real life who has read LOTR in full except for one.
Thanks Webmaster, thanks to the moderating team and thanks to everyone with whose help this forum keeps on running.
May God bless you all.

I am grateful for the Tolkien Forum for a number of reasons. First of all, it is a place where Tolkien fans can discuss and share their knowledge. There really aren't that many good Tolkien forums on the web, and I consider this one to be of the highest quality. Secondly, everybody is friendly (even the Mods  :p ). Finally, TTF has given me a greater desire to read more of Tolkien, and I have already learned much from this forum. It is a pleasure to be a member here, and I give my thanks to Webmaster for putting in so much hard work to make this place happen! HOORAY FOR WM! :)

It's nice being around people who actually take something seriously. Most people I know haven't even picked up a book in years, much less read LOTR in full. I like how people can debate things on here & respect each other's ideas instead of trashing one another, like I've seen on so many other sites before. WM, you are absolutely WONDERFUL!

First of all,I'd like to thank the Forum and its Moderators for that they made me get deeper in the Tolkien world for which I definetely do not regret!
I also would like to use the opportunity to thank every member of this 'community' for the friendly atmosphere and thorough discussions and debates.
I'm so happy that I have found here something more than just a team for post-answerings but a whole family!Thank you all for being so kind and leading me though the gates of Tolkien's Master World!
One thing that the Forum helped me develop is my English.I learned so much thanks to you, folks.Thank you!
I want to thank the moderators for the well-done job in the forum which has made it an ideal place for Middle-earth discussions.Because it is really the best forum, our forum!

Well *blushes*, thanks to everyone for their appreciation for TTF and the efforts of our valiant staff.
I believe it would be more accurate though to thank yourselves for making TTF as great as it is. All of you are truly the life blood of this site, the staff and I just help keep the cholesterol down.

But if you never created this site, then we could not take up the position of its life blood :). So all credit is due to your very good self :)

I have many thanks to give:
-AS an Author, RPing here and at MERPG had helped so much. If I ever get my book(s) published I will put a thanks to the site in it!
-I know no one that loves and researches Tolkien as I...and no one in my school has read the books! My frieds sort-of like it...never read it. Here is aplace I can express myself and talk about my love and life...Tolkien.
-I love everyone here! I am not the most social kind...mostly because I hate all the snobs in my school...and all of you guys are my best friends. We ahve things in common and everything. One night I was reading one of the thread and I was laughing so hard, you guys sound like you've known each other for years. You talk normally and say opinions and I laugh at how we love each other!
I don't think I could ever be so grateful for joining this website. I live here almost...every day I spend hours on just reading and posting here. Now the only problem is getting rid of my lotR-hating sister so I can make this my homepage and use LotR wallpaper and screensavers...
Anne, thank you.:)

well, for one thing, I'd like to point out that TTF has become my saving grace. They may not know it, but without a certain couple of members here, I'd be knee-deep in Wicca and Magic right now. But now I don't know if that's what I want, thanks to those two members. And I would never have met them if not for this site. Thank you Webmaster, very much.
Also, I want to point out that RPing has become a very important part of my day now. It's a chance for me to step out of my world and into a world where I can be myself. Thank you again, Webmaster.
And for another thing, I should point out that I've met some of my best friends here, and without them I know I would be very depressed right now. Without them I would still think of myself as worthless, and God only knows what my life would be like right now without them to help me through bad times. Without this forum I would never have met them. Thank you again, Webmaster.
And for yet another thing (and probably a final thing;) ) I'm treated as an equal here. If someone says something against me, or something I don't agree with, I can voice my opinions, no matter who they are. And people judge you by who you really are here, not by what other people tell them about you. It's a wonderful thing. Being equal with everyone on this forum is, to say the least, more than I ever get the privelege of in my real life. Thank you yet again, Webmaster.

TTF is wonderful site not only because I can discuss LOTR with huge fans like myself (they are so hard to find outside of cyberspace, don't you think?), I have 'met' many cool people, on the net you can be anyone, the people are very nice, and they are good to go to for advice or venting. All in all, TTF is a V.cool place. :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) :p
