i am sure all of you have had some strange dreams in your life of 33% sleep....i had my first dream where i began to fly.
i can honestly say it was one of the best experiences i ever had...i remember having a dizzy spinning feeling then i felt myself pulled out of my body...that was kinda scary until i realized i could control my movement.
wow

I once dreamed that I was in an episode of Lost In Space. Not quite the same as flying, but pretty weird all the same.

Um balrog we already have a thread for outcast dreams. Have a look around the board, it's here somewhere. I think it's the Dreamy thread.

Well, that one was started for people to talk about daydreams. We changed it so anyone could talk about any kind of dream. Looks like this person is planning on letting that thread stick to it's original purpose. Dream on! <--- not to be taken as the evil way of saying it.

Ooo, I love those flying-dreams:D they're so fun..I used to be able to control my dreams enough that I could "fly".
but not anymore =*( Now all I ever get are nightmares for some reason...>.<
Ugh, do you also get bad dreams when you're sick with a fever? I do. It feels like one moment you're really really thin, and then suddenly you get really FAT, and so on..and then you get rolled up in this big wave of sticky toffee (or grass) that's rolling towards you getting bigger and bigger..
and then you wake up. ..Does anyone else have these sort of dreams..? or am I wierd even by outcast standards:D

that is intense...
I dreamt of family members that die...scary...not killing them...
however they are only dreams...you won't be prosecuted for them by anyone but yourself.

Or something like that. oh well. It was along the same lines of dreams that you people were talking about! You can't expect me to explain a dream that I didn't even have! Let me see here. yeah, being awake does suck >.< hehe, when I was younger I used to think that we all are "connected" when we dream...
so the next morning I would stomp downstairs and yell things at for example my brother like "why'd you steal my yellow suitcase and feed it to the gorilla?!?! HUH?!?!"
heheeee, that would be cool though, if we all were in the same "dreamworld":D

I have that exact feeling! It`s so weird and unpleasant.
Can anybody control his dreams? I can. For example when I`m having a nightmare. It really helps.
Dragon
06-18-2003, 05:04 PM
heh, as far as I can remember, I can control my dreams but not my nightmares, 'cause if I could control my nightmares, they wouldn't be nightmaresr, would they?
Annushka
06-18-2003, 09:14 PM
That`s the point. You realise it`s a nightmare and are able not to be affected by it. Sometimes I force myself to wake up. What`s not so good is that when I go back to sleep again it continues:(
balrog

I think the innocence of being a child or being young is the very essence that allows our imagination to come into fruition...and the feeling of connectedness is a very positive emotional response.
the possibilty of a collective dream is there...on different levels...
maybe dreams are a projection of ourselves to different levels or dimensions of our thoughts or feelings...a connection to our personal reality... ! ? ! :)

Ask that question to someone you love like a family member before they die...they will have as much appreciation of your thoughtfulness as me.

very often my mom and I seem to be on the same "mindwave"..we read eachother's minds all the time:D
we even dream the same dreams on the exact same nights sometimes=) it's spooky.
our theory is that dreams are "memories" from the past, present and future..that explains dejavu's :D so we say anyway...
maybe we can see into the future sometimes, but we don't always remember everything?

You know when you've been sleeping really hard, and when you wake up you feel like you've been flattened? Yes. Good morning everyone!
I had a really weird, long, and complicated dream last night, but it started out with a third anniversary Readerville (Readerville.com, the other site I devote all my time to) convention I was attending in New York- Lyra (other YA from YA Reading Group) and I were the only teens, I think, though CK (who runs the YA Reading Group) was there, and other than that it was people I didn't seem to know- except Garth Nix (YA author), who just happened to look exactly like Patrick Stewart. Lyra and I wanted to kiss his head, only he wouldn't let us. He was kind of grumpy, really. And the dream went on like that...after I left the convention the dream switched to me at Patrick Stewart's get-away house place, trying to get in and kiss him on the head.

Well, the people in the dream (CK and Lyra) were from Readerville.com, and Garth Nix is the author of Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen (the awesome Old Kingdom Trilogy), as well as the brand new Mister Monday, which I hear is really good. And Patrick Stewart is Captain Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Professor Xavier on X-Men.

I have recurrent dreams where I am in a tornado. Most of them are kind of fun, some are scary though.
I just arrived in Oregon for the summer a few days ago, and a bunch of people were talking about tsunamis and how Oregon is due for one, and also how it's due for an earthquake. That night I dreamed there was an earthquake, but I escaped it by climbing a tree on a hill as if I was trying to get away from a tsunami. Typical weird dream for me.
In case anybody doesn't know, a tsunami is a tidal wave.

I also had a terrible tornado dream just before I left to South Dakota to visit family...the first week I was there 300 tornados hit neighboring areas and states...gotta feel sorry for those who lose everything :(

I had a really bizairre dream when I was five that I heard singing in the front fall of my house, but no one else did. So I went to see what it was and this beautiful angel-like woman with long blonde wavy hair and all in shining, purest white gown was floating in the hall... she had no wings. then she picked me up in her arms, still singing and I flew around the house with her all night. But it didn't feel like I was dreaming. I would wake up in my bed the next morning convinced it was real. This went on for years upon years. Everynight I had the same dream until I still really am convinced that it was real. And considering that I believe in spirits and banchies and such, I actually do believe it was real cause I can pin-point the ending, when my mom rearranged the bedroom, so the bed was on the other side of the room, the 'dreams' ended... I miss the pretty lady...

You`re lucky! You`r dream is full of light. I used to have one when my mom was captured by some evil people and I had to find her. And it felt absolutely real though was always the same.
Arathin
07-05-2003, 02:47 PM
Well that is just one that I've had. I also had this recuring dream after the room rearrangement that I was being attacked by things. these things ranged from vampires (which wouldn't scare me now a days), zombies, ten foot tall pink bunnies (*shudders and twitches* that one still gets me), eight foot long hornets, little horned purple creatures that looked like something out of the Labyrinth for anyone who has seen that movie. of course, that wouldn't scare me now either...
I had this one dream when I was like 14 that the whole house was flooded with three feet of water in each room, but the water was full of the little horned purple things. So I couldn't get downstairs to my parents' room and they couldn't hear me like they use to be able to. it was tramatic cause when I woke up I swear I still bloody saw them swimming around two to three feet above the floor even though the water was gone. like I swear I sat up for hours utterly awake, scared stiff, watching these things swim in thin air. and I had my glasses on!!!

Arathin, those are quite vivid dreams...maybe you should re-rearrange your room to what it was like when you were young...I think a philosophy called Feng Shui describes the way rooms are designed with furniature has an effect on the energy or Chi of that room....maybe an interesting topic to look into. :D
Arathin

That would be interesting, but I'm not in that room anymore... Now I am upstairs and that room is the office... now a days I have a lot of dreams that are either tell of is not permitted on here because of young eyes, or just make very little sense to anyone...

Alright this is rather long. this was my morning this morning... and my dream this morning inside my morning...
Alright... my mom got me up at about 6:15ish this morning just because I had to wake up ten minutes before I left at 8 to bring my brother to school. That wasn't really so bad because I fell right back to sleep. and slipped into the most bezairre dream... It was SPCC (St. Peter Central Catholic, my old school), meets Notre Dame, meets Hogwarts, meets Christmas speical... I mean insanity abounds.
So it starts I am in class, Division I guess because Trawlawney is teaching it. and we are all given these cards with stamps on them. a purple stamp for every good act done in the last week, a red one for every bad act. my card is full of red... So I storm off to my locker because it is the end of the school year... and christmas... right... anyway, so at my locker, which is outside in a forest without snow in it... there is a teacher meeting, they are being 'observed' by the Ministry of Magic I think. Well Trawlawney comes out, as a cat, McGonagall is no where to be seen... She becomes herself, deathly drunk, and starts ranting at me... about the Ministry people whom she is standing in the middle of... I say, "She is just having a severe mid-life crisis and needs some time alone." very unlike me and pick the cat, she is a cat again, up and carry her over to a bench.
She, the cat, then starts trying to kiss me... and the Ministry people look really confused, but Dumbledore has some sort of tinkle in his eye. Then everything fades, and I am standing in the Kindergarden part of SPCC with a witch student, her best friend, and her father. They need to get out of here for some reason. So I lead them out while avoiding all the killer beasts there are if you take a wrong turn...
So we get out and I am standing in the basement of Notre Dame, facing the spcc kindergarden teacher alone. nice lady, but still. So she asks me what I was doing. "leading them out" "I am glad you know the safe way, but what if you had been hurt" (we're suddenly outside spcc now, only where the cement parking lot was, where we are, is all grass... she turns to me "we don't need you in the hospital wing for the weekend" I agree, because apparently I once saved her from one of the Kindergarden area monsters. "So did you use the same path" "yes and I led, they didn't touch a thing."
Now we're watching this african woman brush out this african man's hair from a braid that went down past his butt. and me and her are holding eachother. the african couple turns and waves at the school and me and the teacher to inside... suddenly we're standing in her office and I am telling her about Trawlawney being a cat, animagi, and how sirius is a dog because we were talking about the christmas specal and how sirius was controlling the sleid somehow, but she didn't know how. so I told her he is a dog and that is how, but she doesn't believe me, and I am about to tell her everything about Remus and all when...
Harry and Draco storm into the room, sending me flying to the other part of the couch so I don't look like I was snogging the teacher. they are dressed as Santa's elves... and Harry sits down at my feet and draco turns on the tv which I only just noticed and he sits on harry's lap at my feet. I watch the tv and suddenly I am in the scene, not me like I had been, but I am there watching it as if I am the camera or something.
There is a stage, Dumbledore is santa surrounded by trees and snow. a sheild with four slytherin boys, topless, comes out. they look really confused, but somehow I know they're slytherin. then everything is in a real forest and there is this creepy tree with glowing yellow eye. d/s says follow the something trees. and the sheld takes off with a several screams from the boys and a joyful woof from the deer leading it... then I am at number four privy drive watching harry unhook the "deer" the boys are all inside and dumbledore is with harry. harry lead the 'deer' into a dog house and takes off the suit so Sirius the dog appears. with a barking laugh he digs into the dog food and says he wants to be harry's new christmas present. so harry can keep him as a pet dog.
meanwhile inside, the four slytherin boys are in a room that looks exactly like the kindergarden teacher's one that she, draco, harry, and I were in. they are all sticky and are surrounded by playing cards, which keep falling all around them... one boy is 'catching' them all with his body. and another one says, "there really is no point in you catching all those" and a third boy says, "yeah but he is good at it though. I mean look at his moves, just let him." (I personally think the boy catching all the cards was Woohyuk... it looked like him and he was dancing like woo does... So then the woo-look-alike-card boy collapses against the couch as the door opens and terror seeps from it. all the boys fall back and...
I wake up because my brother is shaking me saying that we're going to be really late getting him to saint john's if we don't leave in two minutes... Someone want to explain???
Dragon
07-08-2003, 05:08 PM

Ooo, it's fun being unconcious :D really it is. I think so.
sometimes I used to try to either hold by breath REALLY long, or hold my head upside-down for a long time and then get up fast so I'd get dizzy..and other wierd things to make me faint. (I know it sounds like I should be in some kind of help-centre thingy..)
But I stopped after I realized that could be sort of dangerous.
whenever I faint I "dream" wonderful dreams, and I don't know that I'm dreaming until later...sometimes I can't even tell the difference between something I dreamt and something that really happened:eek: :D
(-Arathin- do you always dream that vividly(or perversly;)) I do. Vividly, I mean...it's a wierd kind of "talent", in a way:D some people can even control their dreams...)

I barely ever dream, so it's really interesting 2 read this thread, 'cause most ppl dream every night, and I only dream ....like, once every month. but when I faint, I have terrible dreams, most the time it's the same one, but when it isn't....
whe I faint I usually dream that I'm trapped inside a solid metal box filled completely w/ water and I can't get out no matter how hard I try. and I hear voices, not like they're saying words, but I know that they're calling to me even tho they're not speaking.I usually eventually knock out one of the walls of the box, only to find myself in a bigger boxand now the ppl that I hear, they're getting louder, and it sounds like they're screaming, and I'm sure if I could just break this box open, then I could get 2 them, but I never do, and when I wake up, it feels like all the water is going down thru a drain, and I am being pusshed up until I see what's really happening.
It always gives me terrible headaches, and once when I fainted I fell forward onto my face and got a bloody nose. and I have 2 breathe reeeaaallly deeply or I feel lke I'm going 2 faint again, and that's not something I want 2 happen.

I do read a lot of Harry Potter, D, but I didn't try to make that a perverse dream... it just was. Yeah I always dream very vividly, but not usually that perversely .... of course there are the dreams I make myself have and those can be perverse... by make, I mean I pick a topic and if I bend my will and concious around it correctly, I will dream about that thing; a person, object, theme, anything really. I can usually tell just before I go to sleep if I'm going to have a dream or not. it is strange...
I've never fainted, but I have a friend who fainted in my arms like four times in ten minutes because she had like nemonia or something and was at school. I mean I was bloody scared, having her just keel over in my arms... She's lucky I was already holding her cause she was dizzy or she would have cracked her skull on the marble floors at school the way she fell. It was unnerving for me. She woke up really confused though. Couldn't remember why the hell she was on the floor, or why I was fussing over her like I was. I never fuss, but when your friend passes out in your arms, you tend to fuss no matter what.
Recently I've been having this recurring dream that I meet up with a member from the Korean band H.O.T., which broke up two years ago. and he likes my style and stuff so the band reforms with me taking the place of the guy that is still in music... it is wierd because I just keep having it and each time it seems to take up where the last left off...
I always dream while sleeping. I can't remember even one time I slept without dreaming. Though sometimes I don't remember what I dreamed about, but I always remember that I dreamed about something.
When I'm ill or feeling bad I see all kinds of stupid, annoying and even tiring dreams. How would you like spending all night trying to find something that doesn't exist, and knowing that it doesn't exist at the same time. Believe me, it isn't very pleasant
Anyway, I dream about all kinds of stuff - from driving a car (which I've never done in real life) to being killed. But I often see very interesting dreams. If I wrote them down, they would make quite good and interesting books.
Anyway, a few days ago I dreamed that I was Aragorn. :D Tell me now that I've either read too much LOTR or spent too much time on this forum (which is actually true) and I should stop doing that :p :p :p

I've been dreaming a lot lately, but I haven't been posting them because they haven't all been exactly PG13 if you know what I mean... well this is dream from last night as posted in my lj...
I had yet another dream last night. I was at college near the end of freshmen year I think. I hadn't had a boyfriend(or girlfriend for that matter) the whole time there yet. my best friend in my grade(I was in Savannah and got to see mark relatively often) was a native american guy(Lacoda sp?) named Michael Little Creek and I don't remember his last name... but everyone called him little creek. So I'm laying in bed one night, no classes the next day, my roommates are gone, one to see family the other her boyfriend, and I hear the door open.
I had given little creek my spare key in case he ever needed to talk and the door was locked or people were asleep. He paused in the doorway to my room. "you're not sleeping are you?" "nah, come on in. what's up?" he knelt down beside my bed and kissed me. It was so pure and so chaste...... then he got up to leave and I called him back. he lay down beside me in bed and we just spent the night like that, him holding me close to his body smelling my hair, me with my face buried in his chest. It was so comforting. *sigh*
I even was able to stay in it until past 7:30 because I haven't been able to sleep past then lately and I got up at 8:30 today. and I mean damn was he good-looking. His hair was really long too and so soft-feeling. Also he was thin and sinewy but strong and protecting. Now that is a dream I want to return to!

I had a really odd dream a while back...
My youth group decided to all go shopping at the mall. So we left for the mall and the guys and girls split up to go do our own things. Well, I randomly met up with Orlando Bloom in the middle of Sears. Apparently I already knew him...maybe some other dream I don't remember? Well Orlando and I left everyone else to go do our own shopping...only we had a rather unique way of doing it. You know those games where you have to stand back to back with someone and link arms? Well it was like that. Mr Bloom and I were back to back, arms links, walking ALL OVER Sears searching for visors. I'm not sure exactly why we were looking for visors but I know we just HAD to buy visors. We couldn't find any anywhere...but we continued walking around the store like that. Weird.
It should be noted that while I think Orlando Bloom is cool and all, I'm not a huge fan of his...so him showing up in my dream was extremely random. So yeah, that's my dream.

HA HA HA!
That's a really funny image. Lomie and Orlando Bloom back to back through Sears. Hee hee.
I had two really vivid dreams while I was gone (must have been sleeping on my grandmother's couch that did it); They don't make much sense when I try to explain, though they were actually really coherent, but the most interesting thing about them was the setting (oh yes, and I was a superhero and my boyfriend was blue, but other than that) it took place on this ranch, the inside of which looked like the Bombay Company had been at it, and the outside of which looked like the setting for a Zorro movie; dessert ranch type thing. Except the big misquite looking trees around the house. They were really big, with long branches, and they were made of leather. Yes, leather. And the branches with shaped like camel and giraffe heads. And one of the trees was technicolor.
Oh yes, and the super-villian that we had to fight was a midget, and his name was....
The Theologian.

Wow I had a wacked dream last night.... I think it came from reading Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy when Arthur and Ford are stuck on prehistoric earth.
Anyways, I somehow was transported back in time to prehistoric earth, during the ice age. I "woke up" in a pile of snow, with all these guys in furs staring at me. I must have had a Babelfish in my ear cause I could understand what they were saying. They invited me to live with them, so I did for a long time. Then one day it was mammoth hunting time, so I begged and pleaded with the leader to let me go and watch, as long as I didn't get in the way. To get to the mammoth herds we had to trek a long way through 15 feet deep snow, and I kept falling into crevasses or mammoth traps. Finally we got to the place, but what's really weird is that the mammoth trap they used was this huge ramp thing was made of steel, and painted black with yellow flames. The mammoths would be chased up it and then fall to their deaths off the cliff it ended on. Then my dream seemed to fast forward in time and we were building wooden ships out of snow and mud, for some reason. Then I walked up this hill and secretly watched the tribe leader ask this modern day lady (it wasn't me) to marry him, heh. Then I was suddenly transported again to my parent's blue minivan, and we were driving down the highway in Colorado, heading east on a vacation, apparently. We drove for awhile, then it felt like I'd "fallen asleep" in the car and then "woken up" again to different scenery in a different state, but I was so sure that I hadn't fallen asleep. I watched the scenery roll by (lots of greenery and lakes) while my dad drove and read a book at the same time (don't ask me how, but he was doing it *rolls eyes*). Then all of a sudden I looked out the back window to see something, and to my surprise the car behind us is a little yellow mini with the steering wheel on the right like a british car, and my boyfriend is driving, his dad's in the passenger seat, and his brother is in the rear. :| For some reason my bf has a blonde goatee (he's dark-haired) Anyways, I clambered to the back seat of the van and spent what seemed like minutes trying to catch his attention. Finally I did, and made my dad pull over to this picnic area, where my bf's *whole* family is there, parents, both sets of grandparents, sister, bazillion brothers (for some reason he had several more than he really does). I sat down at this picnic table with him where his mom and one grandmother were sitting, introduced myself, and asked where in the heck I was, cause I didn't know. His mom said "Central Florida", and I just about fell off my bench. I asked how in the heck I got there if I was in the car no more than an hour, and it takes three days driving to get to Florida from Colorado, and his grandmother said that "That's cause people always take the longest route, and if you know your way, there's a route that only takes an hour." Then I said "Oh.", shrugged, and waltzed off with my bf over to this lake, and woke up. Weird, huh?

What a dream last night!!! I watched this "Mummys: Mysters from Egyptian Tombs" thing last night on the History channel, actually very informative and then went to bed, exhausted at ten... Well last night I had one warped dream. It is starting to fade so this won't be overly coherent.
I'm walking through this empty street and it is like I'm not really there, just this spectral me watching. I enter the basement of this house through the wall. It is this guy Mike Chausai's room... I knew this guy in 6th -8th grade from school and everyone, including me, had a crush on him. The room has a glass covered ceiling and in the center there is just this one Tarot card siza and appearance painting. Then I'm standing in the middle of the park with this guy, whose name I forgot, and I'm this girl named Jen, but it isn't me... So this guy is playing with a ball when suddenly this figure in white, how do I explain this... he like unrolls from upon himself into this bald guy who is suppose to be like the head angel of god but doesn't have a halo or wings... me and the guy with the ball bolt down the street to mike's house. the guy throws the ball through mike's window and we hide inside, but somehow the Tarot painting thing got broken by the ball. This guy all in black appears and offers to help us fix it and keep the unrolling guy from us.
We fix the thing by taking one of mike's glass tarot cards and screwing it over the broken part of the ceiling. Then suddenly, the ball guy is dead, taken by the unrolling guy, and I'm myself again and am with the guy in black and the unrolling guy in this massive library. The two guys gave me a choice. To go with the unrolling guy, drink some water he was offering, and become and angel of the lord eternal(which didn't suit me because of my differing religious beliefs)... or to go with the guy in black, whom was the lord of "hell", and be his bride eternal(which suited me a bit more, but still not really because of my differing religious beliefs)...
so here I am and these two are trying to like pull me apart and I'm backing into a space between two book cases, when Johhny Depp appears behind me... Only it isn't like Johhny Depp the actor... He's a vampire, and he offers me a third choice, to become a vampire through him. You'd think, those of you that know me, I'd immediately jump at the offer, but I actually was quite rational and had him explain what exactly a vampire could and could not do... then I jumped at the offer and he bit me while we made out behind one of the book cases... Then I'm laying in my bed, with almost no blood in my body and he places his sliced wrist over my mouth.
Then Louis, like Anne Rice's Louis, brings a man in for me to feed upon, which I do expertly. I lay back down in bed beside Johnny and am surrounded by Uncle Stoker(Bram Stoker for those of you that don't know of my relation to him), the queen of the vampires, Lestat(again Anne Rice's Lestat, and oh he was good-looking!) and Vlad the Impaler Dracule aka Dracula Himself!!! There is some conversation, blah blah blah, and then I get out of bed and start to dress only to wake up and find myself on the other side of my room half dressed... and I don't sleep walk!!!

Well that was the whole 'God, angels, devil' stuff... I'm a Naturalist aka Pagan, Earth Child, Wicca, whatever other name you want for us... you know... worshiping the Earth spirit Gaia and her children that bring the rain, wind, snow, seasons, plants, and then there is the sun and moon which we also worship and all that loveliness. Actually I've been having a lot of odd dreams lately... If you are more interested you may read them on my livejournal user name Arathin obviously... they are all in my memories... it is just that they aren't all exactly PG or PG 13 so I didn't post em here.

in the last two months my dreams have made strange developments that puzzle me why they took the direction of my past.
i have had countless dreams that have gone to memories of not only high school but also junior high. i am seeing and interacting with people from many years ago, literally waking up and thinking how long lost most of them were in my waking life.
hmmmm.....maybe i should call some of my true friends to say hello......

Here's a strange one I had a fewweeks ago... I dreamed that I wanted holes through my feet, one at the base of each toe (where the knuckles would be on my hands). And, I decided to create these holes myself. And, all I had was a screw. And, my mom wanted to watch. So I got started, I screwed one hole in my foot. No big deal. Then I started on another, and it hurt so incredibly bad that I almost passed out, I threw up all over the place, and my mom freaked out and ran from the room. That's when I decided to stop. Pretty strange, the vivid detail that I experienced was rather disturbing. People I tell that to are concerned with the psycological implications of that, but they never explain what they're thinking.:D

I don't usually remember my dreams, but sometimes I have that one where I find myself back at school or at work and suddenly realise I'm naked(I've been told this is about insecurity, having my failings exposed), but instead of panicking and trying to hide etc, in my dream I'm usually like "Hey so what? Its pretty comfortable. Come on everyone, what's your problem?" and I carry on my everyday type activity naked.
Does this mean something? Am I just not worried what people think? Am I worried what people think, but don't want to admit it? Am I just some weirdo who wants to walk around naked in public?

uhm, I don't think so..:D when you dream you, ah..forget certain things. Important things that you other wise wouldn't think twice about..(like being naked)

I would say it is more along the lines of...
You keep your failings hidden and don't try to let them be known, but when someone figures them out or reminds you of them, you don't particularly care that they discovered it/them.
