It seems as tho generating 3D lanscapes is what everyone is facinated with... so if you want to do it with pretty much nothing go to...
http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen/
And download terragen... make some and post it here!
P.S. my stuff is very primative compared to what you realy can do with this program... so look around on that webpage for samples, it's truly amazing...

This is just something stange I made...

I downloaded it and this thing is pretty awesome! But it is really (really really) confusing...to me at least. I made something...it doesn't really look like anything though. I just sort-of went around and pushed all the buttons and moved everything around to see what I did. So here it is:

***How do you not crop it but is the right size to still fit? Because this picture is really cropped up.***

I made two more (which are better). I would post...but they would be small and cropped a lot. Does anyone know a way to crop that doesn't take from the size and image that much?

Ok anne... once you have made your terrain and are ready to produce the image what u need to do is change the size and the detail using the options shown in the provided screenshot... also if you could convert the bmp file to a JPG before posting it on here... its smaller and easier to view... if you dont know how you should be able to do it with paint... merely open your file and resave it as a JPG.

Also... to make your terrain look more realistic... you should have surface maps... use the open button in the landscape box, it should open to a list of available samples... eventually you can make your own.

P.S.: when you change the image size you will probly want 640 by 480...

Thanks, that answered my problem perfectly!

I know, I have done a couple more and they are much better than the first. The first one I had no clue what I was doing and I was just glad that I made a picture show up! Now I'm better!

This is one of them. It isn't a moon, it's the sun. I wanted a moon so I made the sky black and the sun white and it now shines like the moon! I love this one.

Here's another! I love this one too! I don't know how I did it...it was a mistake. I was trying to change the color of the land because it was black and I got so onfused and it ended up this way!

I am so bad at this compared to you! How did you make that design and get that camera angle?

I am really bad at making the right colors for the land? How many different 'childs' do you have? I have been trying so hard to get green grass with purple flowers for this one and I am no where near it...and tips??
