Seriously, what is your idea of a fun day? Is it a quiet evening with a "Hobbit"? A 500th time watching "Star Wars"? Or do you have a wild side and prefer to play "Twister" in your undies?
:)

I choose out with friends because that`s what makes me forget about different things disturbing me. That`s relaxing and refreshing. I have a lot of time to be alone, to read or watch my favorite movie. All that is a common part of my life. So going out with couple of friends and doing crazy things is fun for me:D

I have fun on different levels not including a spindle and colour dot grid forcing close proximity to persons not wishing to get close to!:)

my fun is producing music while smoking my pipe weed...

going out for good food and movies with friends...

roasting inferior marshmellows and falling wizaeds...

:D :D :D

I had to go for the book thing. Of course. But then, Star Wars and sleep sounds good, too. :D

Star Wars is good, so is the book.

But I like to sit in my room on my bed or in my soft chair, turn on some music (DC Talk, etc.) and throw myself into my stories.

I also like to work with my hands. Fixing things, making things, etc.

Dragon
06-20-2003, 04:01 AM
I spend a lot of time fixing things.......probably 'cause my mom and lil bro sppend a lot of time breaking things that they can't fix:rolleyes: :o

engineering rule; if its not broken, it doesn't have enough features

'nother one;don't fix it unless its broken...(oops! too late!!!)

I enjoy a few beers and a good game of pool at my local pub, followed by a night of intense passion with a supermodel.(maybe this should go in the dream thread):D

My Idea of a Good Time:

1) Freshly popped bag of Kettle Corn in bowl

2) 16oz glass of chocolate milk (shaken, not stirred)

From this point things depend on how many members of my family are at home/in the general living area. If there are none, or those present are willing to accomodate me (it does happen some times), it proceeds as follows:

3) Navy blue recliner

4) A good/stupid/funny/entertaining movie

5) Running commentary provided by yours truly in between stuffing face with popcorn and slurping chocolate milk out of large spoon

If the house is over run by crazy people and noise and evilness etc., it proceeds like this:

3) Pillows on the floor in my bedroom at the back of the house

4) Big band/Broadway/Celtic/Classical/Opera CD

5) Really good book.

But that's when I'm feeling particularly decadent. Most evening I'm either mucking around on the internet, or writing if I feel inspired, or daydreaming, OR (and this is the majority) lying in my bed reading.

YayGollum
06-21-2003, 02:35 AM
Star Wars is good, so is the book? Do what? Which book? I can think of about 27,000. oh well. The newest ones are pure evil. Anyways, Oo! I like this Rhiannon person's idea! Besides the kettle corn stuffs.

A good time for me is either

*A tramp through the woods, but only with my best friend, because talking with her distracts me from the bugses and makes it fun

*at home, on the computer doing stuff, while playing my favorite music(which is an eclectic mix of all kinds of stuff, excluding country), watching a decent show on TV, and reading snatches of an Agatha Christie mystery. Yep, I'm a multi-tasker.

*watching a Star Wars movie, or a comedy at home with my Mom/best friend and a huge bowl of super buttery popcorn(preferably Orville Redenbachers) with a big glass of black cherry koolaid

*spending the entire day/evening at a bookstore with huge comfy chairs, occasionally eating a pastry or piece of cheesecake at the cafe

Rhiannon
06-21-2003, 06:58 PM
Oh yeah- spending all day at a bookstore (especially a used bookstore) with trips to the cafe is definitely my idea of a good time. But since we haven't got any good bookstores with cafes here, I do what I can ;) (we have a Hastings, which has a small and pretty poor book section, and a couple of really small used book stores that are primarily romances)

I would be curious as to what electronica you listen to....

downtempo, trance or intelligent....maybe other you could share!!

The-Elf-Herself
06-22-2003, 09:29 PM
Some downtempo, some intelligent, some trance. Mostly stuff I download off Kazaa. I also like downloading trance remixes of classical music pieces(hears purists gasp). Yeah, I know, they may not be the best, but they're catchy and when I need some music for cleaning, they work. Nothing much of any other kind.

I voted for a night out with friends. Hey, I may be a spaztic looney with almost no social skills, but I have to get out of the house some of the time. Cabin fever is not a disease I like catching. Plus, all my friends are as insane as I, so everything works out ok. Especially when we go to the mall and sing "Fifteen Men on a Dead Man's Chest" at the top of our lungs just to make all the preppy mall rats stare. So much fun. :D

Oh yes, I love the bookstore thing. Especially Barnes and Noble, cause every one has a Starbucks attached. Frappachino. Mmmmm.

When I'm not surfing the net or posting on my six different role playing forums, I'm reading. Lately lots of Wheel of Time. But mostly, I do excaclty what I'm doing now. My dad thinks all this internet role-playing ect. isn't healthy. He's tried grounding me like eighteen different times, but the fact is nothing much can keep me from here if he keeps taking his French bride to Park City to listen to jazz. :D

The real FUN would be a night out with my friends.... no, not a night - no nightclubs, don't like them... but a day out with my friends - picnic or garden party or just being together and talking... :D :D :D

Having good time would be:

* reading a book
* listening to music
* watching TV
* doing something at the computer --> mostly being at this forum of course :D
* oh, and sleeping also - how could I forget that :p:D

Dragon

Rhiannon
07-27-2003, 05:48 AM
I don't SLEEP, but I go and lie around in my bed and curl up with my pillows and make up stuff- unlikely situations centering on myself, or re-writing the plots of books to suit myself.

Dragon
07-27-2003, 05:50 AM
mm, I do that at night until I fall asleep, I usually don't get 2 sleep until 12 at night, but I have no trouble at al during the day

BTW rhi, do u have the pop up thingy 4 PMs?

Rhiannon
07-27-2003, 05:58 AM
Got PM, D, PMed back

I do it at night too; after reading. And during reading, I take short, 'introspective' breaks a lot; unless I'm really riveted. You can tell I'm totally absorbed in a book if I don't put my finger in it and stare at nothing for a little bit every ten minutes or so...

Dragon
07-27-2003, 06:05 AM

Aerin and I have a hobby of walking into this particular popular girls store in the mall, forever 21, and picking out their UGLIEST clothes (pink fuzzy bear shirt, aaaaahhhhhhhh!), then "trying them on," the whole time taking secret pictures of them with my digital camera which I sneak in in my bag :D It's great fun!

Although, I can't see how those girls who actually wear that stuff stand it... it's so tight and uncomfortable and just plain ugly.

Dragon

Awwww...Bran, I heart you. :D I agree that sleep is overrated. While it's nice and relaxing, I guess, most of the time you're not even conscious to enjoy it. And there are so many other things to be done - I always feel like I'm wasting my time sleeping. If I could live without it, I would.

My mom with my aunt once did something like that. They were looking for bathing suits and found really ugly ones. So they decided to put them on and get photographed. You can only imagine how hard they laughed and the faces of the shopassistants. Now those photos are on our kitchen. and not to forget my Mom was 50 and my aunt 52 at that time. So the pics are hilarious. Mostly cause the bathing suits are really weird:D

It's still not as good as my brother trying on a bright orange dress(no camera though:( ). What made it even better was that he asked the cashier where the fitting rooms where, while holding the dress in mid-air. He got a couple funny looks, but they can't refuse to tell him. It was hillarious.

Rhiannon

We love you Bran!

I like to go with friends and try on prom dresses. In Japan the old BX had three dressing rooms; two little ones, and a big one in the middle. So we all went in to the big one and just camped out, with me going out to fetch the most bizarre dresses I could find (because none of them were big enough to fit me, of course, so everyone else was doing the trying on). We found some great ones- of course we gave them names. The best was Irene's 'floozy dress'. It had feathers! There was also a night club dress, a ding-dong dress (er, as in a bell), and one really risque red number that we couldn't get anyone to put on. Fun fun fun.

Haha, that's great, Rhi. I voted for a night hanging out with friends, cause we always manage to find something crazy and entertaining to do. Like one time we accidentally set the basement floor on fire. It was okay though, we managed to put it out without any damage, so we didn't burn the house down or anything. It was quite funny afterwards.

Bran- I'm afraid I'm not your internet stalker, my "deep thoughts comment" is actually a joke between me and some friends. Ever been to muffinfilms.com? That's a strange coincidence, though. I can change it though, if you'd like, I just couldn't think of anything to put in there.. and it just popped into my head. I'm just back from spending the weekend at my friend Angel's house, for her 17th birthday- which was actually a week ago, but the party was Friday.

And the opiates of our shared presences took affect and I indulged in outcasty behavior.

We met a few more of Angel's more local friends at a pizza place, and I got....hyper, I suppose is one word for it. Weird might be even better.

Have you ever noticed how the silverware wrapped up in the napkin looks like a sleeping bag? I had my menu upside down as a tent, and Mr. and Mrs. Cutlery were sleeping in it. All very innocent. Only then the tent collapsed, and when they tried to canoe home in the garlic bread dish it capsized, and tragically they both drowned (Mrs. Fork Cutlery got her prongs stuck in the river bed) And then there was a funeral, but I couldn't get anyone to light the funeral boat for me, so we buried it in a mound...only later we exhumed them for forensic investigation.

And so on and so on...And after that we went to see 'Freaky Friday', which was actually pretty cute as I mentioned, and then we all came back to Angel's and watched The Princess Bride and I tied with one of the other girls at Scrabble, but only because she was hoarding the Us so that I couldn't use my Q.

Rhi, I believe we have to be related somehow(other than GoO siblings). My friends and I have created and entire post battle battlefield out of the entire table. Actually created a decent looking cannon out of a couple plates, a cup, a cherry, and straws. Yes the battle was horrendous between the spoons and forks, many casualties lay strewn about the tables.

I just did a scrapbook page of the time we went to Fort Walton Beach in September...That was the neatest day. I liked Florida.

It's 6:19pm in dull, flat, boring Oklahoma...I had a bagel for breakfast, two cheese sandwhiches for lunch, and- holy cow, I totally forgot about my popcorn! I must have popped it an hour ago, and it's till in the microwave...heehee...ooops.

And now I need to go make a cake in the shape of a horse head!

BranMuffin

As well you should be Tal.

Your welcome to come anytime Kai. But I recommend coing in the winter like Tal is. Any other time and it's too hot to do anything.

Rhi old popcorn is the best, especially week old popped popcorn, or kettle corn. A cake in the shape of a horse head? For what? Do you also make Goat's head cheese in a goat head shape?

Rhiannon
08-18-2003, 08:23 PM
Wait I was wrong...we went to Fort Walton Beach in December! And it was wonderful.

Yes, the old popcorn was good, but really...stale, yick. But an hour was okay.

Cake in the shape of a horse head for the ten year old's birthday party that I did, because she wanted one, BUT it didn't come out right...so we decided it was a kangaroo and it became an Aussie birthday at the last minute. Worked very well, too.

I hadn't eaten popcorn in years (braces do that to you- I don't chew gum either) but when I discovered that I love Kettle corn and I could eat a whole bag for only three points...woo-hoo! bring it on!

*Tries to think of something witty to say in reply to the horse- head- turning- into- a- kangaroo story, and fails miserably* Well, funny story anyway.:D
Hmm, my idea of fun. The quiet night with a book sounds like me. Especially if I get to listen to music while reading. But I'm really the happiest when my camp has this huge game of capture the flag out in the woods, involving the whole camp, with some slight alterations to the rules to make it have kind of an American Revolution type theme. That game rocks.:D

I enjoy watching freshmen on the first day of college running around like those skittish little lap dogs. Then I give them confusing directions. He he he he he!

BranMuffin
08-26-2003, 09:39 PM
Oooh fun stuff.

Giving directions to go to the end of the hall in the round building (actually have a round building). Selling elevator passes(there is one now but only handicapped are allowed to use it). Telling freshmen about the pool on the roof of the round building. Then combine all three and sell them an elevator pass to get to the pool on top of the round building and to get to the elevator go to the end of the hall way.

Like the faculty would actually tell you there was a pool on top of the round building, yeah right. That's were they go on break so they don't tell anyone about it but their secret got out. Oh yes it did...

In my high school, all the art and shop classes were in the IA building, which is across the lawn from the main school. Anyway, Our HS being two stories, they decided to number the IA building classes in the 300's. It was really funny when freshmen tried to get to the "third floor." You could tell them stuff like, you have to take the elevator to get to it, so they'd try to get an elevator key from the office and get told to bug off because they didn't have a limp as an excuse. Or tell them there's a secret staircase to the third floor that can only be reached through the janitor's closet... the list goes on. Ahem. Of course I never did any of these evil things. After all, I was a Student council officer (by default- no one else ran) and had to set a good example.

Oh man...Froggum, Bran, that's just evil. Especially the end of the hall in the round room. *Shakes head*

But I have to admit...

That was hilarious. :D

I was a freshman last year. But I was like D and got a map and found my classes ahead of time. :p This year I'm a sophomore...and a very kindly, benevolent, unevil sophomore at that. The only thing that bugs me about the freshmen is that they all seem to think that they're cooler than me because they're popular and I'm anti-social. :o Ugh. It's not that I'm on a crusade for popularity or anything...I just want them to listen to me when I'm talking to them instead of treating me like I'm invisible. I'm the older one here anyway...where's my authority? Stupid preppy people. But anyway...that's more of a lash out at this specific class of freshmen, not freshmen in general. Next year I'll hate the sophomores.

Sickening. But no, along the same lines as what this Kailita person was ranting about ---> What is fun is to be evil and anti-social and sit in a corner and just sit and watch the normal ones. It can be very mind-boggling and sickening and things, though. Like *shudders* this recent thing that I noticed ---> Someone called someone else's name from across the room. That person was talking to someone else at the time and automatically and brainlessly raised their hand and waved in the direction of the person calling them. Creepy! The person then looked confused when he noticed that his hand was up in the air. Too scary. They are sheep.

*Laughs* That is scary. But also kind of funny. This Kailita person says that Yay is very right. What is NOT an Outcast idea of fun - at least not for this Kailita person - is being dragged to a mandatory assembly at school while the ASB officers try desperately to get you to buy their stupid shirts and ASB cards and be "school spirited" and "involved" and "social". *Shudders* How disturbing. They were spoofing Pirates of the Caribbeans - "Pirates of the ASB-an." :o They get worse and worse each year. This Kailita person shakes her head and makes the sign against evil. New idea of fun: driving a good amout of time to see your gf or staying up REALLY late talking on the phone to her.

And wearing your socks inside out...

Rhiannon
09-17-2003, 05:59 PM
I'll have to try the socks bit. I'll pass on the GF.

Rhian's outcasty ideas of having fun: playing around in Wal-Mart, terrorizing the general populace, using nautical terms randomly (and wrong), and designing heraldry.

BranMuffin
09-17-2003, 06:39 PM
The socks idea actually makes a lot of sense. They are almost always designed wrong, with the seem in the toes on the inside to where it hurts your feet. Plus some poeple think it is good luck.

WalMart terrorization is always fun..I'm shure you've probably seen the 50 fun things to do in WalMart. If not look it up. My friends and I went to sleep on the beds in Sears once the sales people woke us up rather rudely though. I guess they don't like the fact that some of us were snoring and others were drooling...some did both.

My youth group terrorized a Safeway (grocery store) here on the way to winter retreat, heehee... we have the whole thing on film too! The boys were pretending to pee in the trash cans while waiting in line for the bathroom, and everyone was randomly taking things off the shelves and making funny comments on them, and then Aerin, I, and Billy crawled soldier style down one of the aisles..... SOOO much fun!

I also like to make swords but I can't really do that now because I need a new grinder blade:(.

I had a lot of fun last night....

I went 2 a halloween party at a friends house. everyone had really cool costumes. me and 1 other person co-ordinated to be kitties (not a word! we found some really cool masks, so we have an excuse!) one (guy) person was a woman, one person shaved off all his hair except down the middle, and spiked it up in a mohawk and then had a chain running from his ear to his nose adn some eye-shadow (he would make a good goth... ppl were trying 2 convince him to wear his hair like that every day) one person was a hobo, one was a devil-lady, one was a showgirl, one was.... oh, I don't remember what decade, but she had the really really big white boatneck sweater hanging off one shoulder so you could see one of her bra straps, a skirt, jazz shoes and leg-warmers, the plastic bangles and earings, that was cool, one girl was a pirate, one was a "cat stripper from the matrix" haha, that was funny, there were one or two otehrs, but I can't remember. anyways, we watched... or rather, put on the rocky horror picture show and sort of looked at the screen funny in opportune spots, there was a lot of piling on top of one another on the couch... I sort of....avoided that.... ppl tried to ambush me, and it didn't work *flexes muscles* haha...not really, they just pretended they were trying 2 ambush me. we went trick-or-treating (my idea!) and we ahd lots of fun, we hit some houses twice! mmmmmmmm.........candy............then after all the guys left... we ran around in our underwear in her backyard. fun stuff... that was great...:D :D :D     :D :D :D

My goodness, D, that is way too much fun. You're not allowed to have more fun than your older sister on Halloween. :p

I, being the classy older sister that I am, also went to a Halloween party. A very large, wild, rocking Halloween party.

With two other girls. Making three in all. ;)

We did have fun, though. Since there were only three of us, there weren't as many people to split the candy between. :D And we watched Moulin Rouge (weird movie to watch on Halloween, probably, but we couldn't find The Bride of Frankenstein *shrugs*). It was fun...if not large, wild, and rocking. ;)

I went to a kind-of-Halloween Party! Our church has a Fall Festival, with game booths and hot dogs etc., and I, being a master face painter, went to work. Actually I went so I would have an excuse to dress-up (and boy howdy did I look nice...Forest green 12th-ish century type dress with a gold belt, very pretty).

I was at this marching band party last year, and as a first-year hazing type thing, we watched this sad old kung fu movie and everytime someone yelled something martial-arts-ish you had to take a drink. Half of us were drunk half an hour in. I, of course, was not, because my boyfriend watched me like a guard dog when I drink and takes my Sex on the Beach away if I start laughing too much at things that are not funny.

But I am rambling. Watching and making fun of drunk people is much funness.
