Last year, the guild had two contests. One was a random contest for two large size Tolkien paperbacks and the second contest was an essay contest on What Tolkien Meant to Me (I think). The prizes for it were a first edition hardback Silmarillion (US edition), a large size paperback of the Lays of Beleriand and a bookclub hardback edition of the Book of Lost Tales, Part 1.

It was a fun contest with one major drawback... it took me 9 months to get the prizes shipped. :(
