Hi all,
I am wondering what you all believe in. It seems I was told to post something like this, so here I am. This is basically a poll. Most religions are listed, and here you can discuss your beliefs, as long as it's PEACEFUL. I want no bashing OK guys? Soon, I will post my belief statement for us to talk about. Enjoy!

I am a Christian.
I believe Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world who came to die for our sins.
I believe that sin has polluted our world and the time will come when Christ will put an end to all misery and destroy sin and all who hang on to it.
I believe that the dead are awaiting the resurrection in the grave when Jesus comes again a second time and resurrects the righteous.
I believe in the ultimate destruction of the wicked and sin so God and the righteous can get on with eternity without any stain on His new creation.
I believe that we are in the misery we are in today because of man's choice to reject the creator and embrace sin. Sin corrupts and God has allowed man the freedom of choice to choose or reject Christ, and because anything good comes from God, our choice allows sin to reign in our world. But God will come and make all things right again.
And I believe in beautiful, handmade acoustic guitars...:)

Hi,
As I've promised, here's my statement of faith. I will not be online the next 2 days, as I will be taking care of my mum. :)
MY STATEMENT OF FAITH:
ON THE CREATOR:
I believe the Creator is known as the Great Spirit. The Great Spirit is genderless. With this being said, the Great Spirit is neither mother nor father. The Great Spirit is just that. A Spirit. It does not demand worship, prayer, or praise. The Great Spirit does not demand sacrificial services in order to forgive one’s sins. There are many names for the Great Spirit, such as God, Allah, Yahwaeh (sp?), etc. What the Great Spirit only demands is you obey it’s 28 commandments, & that you believe it is the Creator. The Great Spirit chooses not to intervene with its creation because they have ignored their maker, sinned against the Spirit, & refuse to accept other beliefs. Thus, this has made the Great Spirit sad and disappointed. Now that the Great Spirit is sad, it chooses not to intervene with mankind unless the situation calls for it.
The Great Spirit is the same God of the Israelites. The Spirit lead the Israelites out of Egypt, freed them from slavery, made them wander the deserts for 40 years, and then finally allowed them to come to the Promised Land. The Great Spirit is the same God who gave the Israelis the 10 commandments, King Solomon, & all the kings of old. The Great Spirit is actually an extraterrestrial being somewhere in the universe watching over it’s creation. Being an alien, the Great Spirit is all-powerful, mighty, just, and holy.
ON JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ was a prophet, who spoke the words of truth for the peoples of his day and age. Jesus Christ is not the Son of God, for we all are sons and daughters of the Great Spirit. Jesus Christ claimed to be the Son of the highest God to get more followers, etc. Since the Great Spirit is an extraterrestrial, Mary conceived Jesus Christ in her womb by the Great Spirit who had with her, thus having her become pregnant. Jesus Christ started the Christian faith and then died on a cross on Golgatha.
Jesus Christ did not rise from the grave as the Apostles claimed. They all were hallucinating the image of Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ day, the Pharisee’s were in charge and they stole the body of Jesus Christ and burned it so it the tomb would appear empty. Jesus Christ was just a mere human being, with a touch of divine influence. He was not the Son of God; instead, he is merely a prophet. Just like Muhammed, & Moses.
ON RELIGION:
There is no one true faith and/or religion. All religions lead to the Creator, even if the faith has many gods & goddesses. Christianity has made the claim that it is the one and only faith when this cannot be so. Jesus Christ said that He is the only way to the Father. The reason he said this was because he wanted people to believe in him as the Son of God. Jesus Christ, like Muhammed, wanted followers & was a prophet of the Great Spirit. Since there are over a dozen religions on Earth, they all lead to the Creator. They just choose to call the Creator a different name. The only false religion is Satanism. This is because Satan does not exist, for Satan is a state of mind. Just like Hell.
ON SATAN:
Satan is a state of mind. The mind is an amazing tool; it can make us think Satan is tempting us. Satan is like the Boogy-man, and Santa Clause. He is something the Christian world made up to make people believe in Christianity and Christ’s authority. As of 6/25/03, no one has come face to face with the Devil. However people have met the Great Spirit in dreams, visions, etc. With the fact being said that Satan is a state of mind, that means our mind is Satan, and we are Satan. We are our own Lucifer. Each of us is Satan, which is scary to think about, but one must acknowledge this fact.
An argument could be arisen with the belief that we are Satan. If we are Satan, than we are God. God too is a state of mind, except the belief in a Creator, and/or Great Spirit requires faith. There is no reason to believe in a Satan. Our choices determine our destiny. We can live in fear of Satan our whole lives, then we would die and find out Satan didn’t exist. How stupid we would feel! So, all in all, Satan is a state of mind. Which proves, that Satan does not exist as a real figure. Rather, Satan is a mental figure.
ON HELL
Hell, like Satan, is a state of mind. One can believe Hell exists and it brings forth confusion, anger, & depression. Most Christians believe Hell is a place of chopping teeth and screams of pain. This is true, except Hell is in the mind. The mind can produce feelings of sadness, anger, fear, & confusion. Some might say, these feelings would be found in Hell. Whenever one experiences these feelings, it feels like Hell. Hell is indeed, very real, except it is in the mind. It is not, I repeat, NOT a physical place, which one can see. It is an emotional place. There are no flames coming up from the Earth, no demons poking at you, & no burning flesh, so don’t worry.
ON HEAVEN
Being a UFO believer, and being a non-believer in a Heaven, I believe the very word Heaven is not the proper terminology for the afterlife. The very word Heaven, as quoted from the Dictionary means this:
1. The sky or universe as seen from the earth; the firmament. Often used in the plural.
2. Christianity.
a. Often Heaven The abode of God, the angels, and the souls of those who are granted salvation.
b. An eternal state of communion with God; everlasting bliss.
3. Any of the places in or beyond the sky conceived of as domains of divine beings in various religions.
Notice I highlighted the words “The sky or universe as seen from the Earth; the firmament” in bold font. This is something to think about: If this is what the word Heaven means, then Heaven is the sky, and that’s where the Christians go. I believe in a place after death, another Earth, where the animals, the Great Spirit, & the humans live peacefully. All religious followers are on this planet, and everyone lives in harmony. Until the end of the universe, if you will. This is my faith statement. I hope you enjoyed reading it, and your comments are welcome as I always am making improvements.

Jesse it seems you contradict yourself
Jesus Christ is not the Son of God, for we all are sons and daughters of the Great Spirit
and
Since the Great Spirit is an extraterrestrial, Mary conceived Jesus Christ in her womb by the Great Spirit who had with her, thus having her become pregnant.
If the great spirit is the god figure and Jesus was conceived by Mary and the Great Spirit then he would be the direct son of God which would also put a hole in your second and third sentences under section: Of the creator. Seeing how the Great Spirit is a generless extraterrestial conception with a human would be impossible unless this extraterrestial was more then an alien but creation himself, beginning and end, which I will get to in a minute.
The Great Spirit chooses not to intervene with its creation because they have ignored their maker, sinned against the Spirit, & refuse to accept other beliefs.
is also rendered useless when you take this statement by yourself into account
The Great Spirit is just that. A Spirit. It does not demand worship, prayer, or praise.
Praise is defined as a Noun and a Verb
Verb: 1 : to express a favorable judgment of : COMMEND
2 : to glorify (a god or saint) especially by the attribution of perfections
Noun:1 a : an expression of approval : COMMENDATION b : WORSHIP
2 a : VALUE, MERIT b : archaic : one that is praised
Praise is not just what Christians do on Sunday mornings. Praise is a lifestyle. I desire to praise Jesus through my actions. I want my life to be AN EXPRESSION OF APPROVAL to God.
This is not just a Christian view. If I were to ignore the great spirit or sin against him then he would choose to not intervene which is similar to if I disobey God I will be punished.
Being an alien, the Great Spirit is all-powerful, mighty, just, and holy.
How does being an alien make one all of these things?
I respect your beliefs but cannot take them seriously. You have no historical proof to back up your allegations/words. That is what they are..words..allegations...ideas. This is not bashing, but debating.

So, does this mean you are an Atheist? Oh, and Inderjit S, I apologize for leaving your faith out of the options. I just did not think of that faith. Sorry old chap.

Beleg_strongbow,
In the Koran, what does your holy word say about Jesus Christ? I am just curious. I'm not a Christian so I wish to know what the Muslim's think about Jesus.

Lord Jesus was a Prophet, but he was not the son of God.
Because God has no kith or kin, neither is he dependent on anyone.

I think this should be multiple choise question because I consider myself a both a Hindu and a Christian.
I was baptised Anglican when i was a baby (just as a fomality though cause my parents are atheists) and I have read the bible, I live by the morals it teaches and I have a very strong love and admiration for Jesus Christ (hes a great person whether hes the angel-son of God or not). Most people where I live are familar with the basics of Christianity whether there religious or not but Hinduism (specifically Krishna) has recently opened my heart to God. Hinduism and Christianity are amazingly similar in many ways, and as far as I'm concerned its just two different styles of the same belief. Most people say how can you be a truely spiritual if you dont even know what religion you are? But i dont believe thats true at all.
"Even those who in faith worship other Gods because of there love they worship me" (from the Bhagavad Gita)

Well, I guess I'm a "scientologist" in other words, scientifically minded. I think it's a bit strange to describe a scientist as having "faith in science", almost like science is a religion as well, when it isn't, it's the study of the natural world.

Well the is a church called the Church of Scientology and it has a number of followers in North America (and maybe around the world, I am not sure).
If you look at Scientist in general you will see that there is a great deal of belief in what they do. See when one scientist publishes a radical theory that contradicts an old established theory, and then step back and watch the sparks fly :).
It becomes similar to the Spanish Inquisition.
E.g. Cold Fusion, and the cancerous effects of Tobacco, and Life on Mars.

I`m an atheist. But I do believe in science (though there is a possibility that people use its results against themselves). And that doesn`t have to do anything with Scientology.
Organised religion is dangerous. Cause it puts people in groups. And that makes it much easier to control and manipualate them.
