Man....no offence but you really confuse me..weren't you a atheist? I'n starting to think that you are either a) on some kind of drugs or b) just making fun of us, by acting so strange. Ah well..errr...good luck.

Inderjit, I believe Jesse was confused himself for a little while. I am glad that you have found your way back to Christ, but I am sad to see you leave. Do check in on us if you change your mind. Though I can't see how He would make you give up your possesions, interests, and hobbies unless they were destructive/demeaning to you. Fare thee well Jesse.

ah, but that's what Monks do. They give their entire lives to Jesus Christ. It's a little bit similiar to Nuns actually. (I think, don't hurt me if I'm wrong) they devote everything to the Lord, and they are happy that way:)

Hi all,
After thinking over this decision, I found that it was stupid. I mean, one can like Jesus Christ & like Lord of the Rings at the same time. I just think I was confused on what I believed in. Yes, I am back and...
I am back to stay forever and ever amen.
I am sorry I posted this thread. I upset alot of people and disappointed some others. I can't be a monk, that isn't my destiny. I also like Harry Potter, for there is nothing wrong with that either. See, in the past, people told me I couldn't like Harry Potter, Star Wars, & Lord of the Rings & still be a Christian. One thing I find was that it wasn't Christ leading me away TTF and making me give up my hobbies. It was Satan, AKA the Devil.
Now that I am aware of his tricks, I will not fall into that trap again. If you all could just forgive me, for I know Christ already forgave me. HE knows a monestary is not my destiny. My destiny is to be...myself. Wherever the road leads, Christ will walk it with me. If you want to read my new belief statement, PM me and I'll send it to you. It'll be long...very long. That's a forewarning. I've made a mistake leaving TTF. I find I can't get away from the place my friends are. I do not need to talk on any Christian forums to find fellowship. Nor do I need to listen to CCM to know Christ loves me. It feels good to be my old self again. I've been away too long.
Here's my belief- One does not need to read Christian books, talk on Christian forums, listen to Christian music, etc. to be a Christian. I support Insight For Living in prayer. Never would I donate to them. They have my home address, but I will not write to them and I hope they don't send me mail. The point is, just because one likes things besides Christianity doesn't make him not a Christian
In Christ,
Jesse B.

Thats true Jesse. I don't know why someone would tell you you can't like all of those things and still be a Christian. That is just pure legalism.

I think you where trying to imitate Christ! Maybe on a sub-conscious level any way! They death and resurrection ring a bell? Paganism will always rule supreme!

I tend to differ, but this isn't the place for that kind of debate...

I was simply stating the general opinion that if Mother Nature had wanted us to be Christians why didn't she put us all in Nazareth with the other tribes of Judah? Basically because us Aryans and ours ways would have forced us to kill the Sanhedrin and burn Golgotha to the ground! If Jesus were our Savour then we alone would have sacrificed him ourselves to the God of the ocean! Or the green man! Yes the men of Europe where never and will never be the brides of god, we are the Goy that worship the gods of the forest!
<Part Removed by Beorn> However I do agree this is not the place to discus such matters!

It makes me pretty annoyed when I read that people are saying things like this. Tolkien was a commited Christian, and so to say you can't like Tolkien and be a Christian seems pretty strange to me.
I would be very wary of people who try to tell you what you can and cannot read, whatever the words they use to justify it. There are so many varieties of Christianity, no one needs to just latch onto the narrow-minded parts and blindly accept what they are told.
Its good to see you are making up your own mind what you believe Jesse. Remember: life is YOUR spiritual journey, and noone elses. Other people can give you pointers, but only you can decide what you believe.:)
