If you love the outdoors and want to share your experiences, here is the place to do so!!!! I was just in Colorado. It was very nice: the weather was beatiful, and the views were spectacular. Come one, come all, and join the guild of outdoorsmen and women, and exchange.....well, exchange....GOOD STUFF!!! You know the deal:) :D ;)

Ooh, I'll join! I am a huge fan of the outdoors. I hunt, fish, hike, bike, camp etc. :D I'm hoping to go on a canoe trip up by Canada in August. I like canoeing, but kayaking is cooler, IMO...

As long as you eat what you kill, hunting's ok, but I hate hunting for sport! But yeah, kayaking is better than canoeing, I think so also.

There are 3 different kinds of hunters:
1. Those who hunt strictly for food, and do not kill anything that they do not absolutely need.
2. Those who hunt completely for 'sport' and do not use anything that they kill.
3. Those who hunt for 'sport' (i.e. fun), but have respect for the animals they hunt, and make as much use as possible of the game.
I am definitely a '3'. There really aren't many '1's anymore, and I absolutely despise '2's.

I love the outdoors, hech I live in the out doors. I love hiking the most those. So can I join?

Of course. The guild's open to any and all. And BTW Elendil, I respect your philsophy, though I disagree. No joy should be taken from slaughtering inncoent animals, regardless of whether you use the game afterwards, IMHO.

So, do any of you like paint ball? It's considered a out door sport.

Paintball is a blast! I've played it at camp 4 times. But boy does it hurt to get hit! The only major problem with paintball is that it's so expensive. :( Airsoft looks like a great alternative to paintball, though you litter wherever you're playing with plastic pellets.

Yeah, paint ball is a blast. Me and my friends are in to paint ball and airsoft. Paint ball is alot more of a adrenalin rush, airsoft is fun but you're right, you do litter wherever you play.

Yes, you're missing out, but if you ever consider playing, let me warn you, it hurts.

Kinda hard to be an outdoorsman and not love the environment....

I think that often, hunters are the strongest and most reasonable conservationists. Enviromentalists (extreme or otherwise) essentially would like to see the earth taken over by animals.

HEY!! that's an unreasonable stereotype. Just because some are like that, doesn't mean that you should judge all environmentalists by that standard.

I am an environmentalist. May I join?
:D ;)
If you want to discuss it in depth you will see that environmentalists can be reasonable... even when not at gunpoint.

No, I don't -- I'd rather talk about brazilian rain forests :D
However, I must defend my brethren if the hunters come for them!

I love being outside. I just spent 6 weeks on holidays camping with an organisation for people aged 12-25, who like nature and want to know more about it. That means we observe nature, and try to learn the names of animals and plants, and try to understand why they look like they do and what their function in their environment is. Very interesting really. And also it's very nice to share this interest with other people, cause most young people are just interested in tv and computers and it's nice to meet people who like nature. If you can read Dutch, look at our website www.njn.nl

I love the outdoors, everything about it.
The way the shade of green in leaves is always changing, flickering brilliant green in the sun, or dark in the stormy wind. I love the sound of rain on water, and I absolutely adore animals and trees.:D
I like to canoe and kayak (kayaking's the best, but I'm not as good at it) and rock climb. But my favourite thing to do in the woods is just to hike around, climb trees, and take in the beauty.
I don't mind hunters as long as they use what they take, but I couldn't shoot animals. It just doesn't sound like fun. I like to do archery but I would never go bow hunting. That's why my brother, who likes to shoot guns, scares me. As he gets better, he's talking about going hunting, yet he swears he would never eat venison, turkey, squirrel, or pretty much any kind of wild game. (He's a picky eater.)
