So on our banners we'll have the Eagle with the green stone in the middle, and how about the armor is normal, but we use body paint for camoflauge and to show that its our army, maybe green and brown body paint?

That shall be the banner only the eagle would be bigger. SO then, now when we go into war we will have forest bodypaint for camo and banners with black background and an eagle with a stone in the middle. Hooray!

Another idea, but maybe it would need too big a picture to place in an avatar, would be something representing Frodo's vision of tall men with stars on their brows.. You know, a siloette with a star in the middle... I don't know... I'm not really very good at computer art yet... Unless you count this fellow.

i will talk to the high rangers and the Leader about this but i think that we should establish something.

our forum looks really ugly.

i mean...we have vote threads and all that sort of stuff, but do we need them.

i propose that we make it a rule only the guild council are able to create threads and if it says in the thread do not post then don't!!!

this is going to be disscused, but i think that untill futher notice all other member of the guild do not create threads.

It should be noted that our section of the forum isn't like that, however. With the exception of the Newsletter, which is authorized, the threads are mostly by guild leaders...

Rather than make such a strict rule, I'd say that we leaders should have the sort of relationship with the mods that we can ask them to delete any threads that do not meet our standards within this section. That allows for member freedom while still keeping order.

I already can count on the mods to delete, merge, or move threads at my request... if it is reasonable for them to do so.

No such rule is necessary, but I think the Rangers should know this is not a place for numbskull posts and threads. If they start popping up, we will have them deleted.

I think those are good number limits...and aDaHe, though he is very important in our guild, is rather inactive, so while i think he deserves a post in command, i think that High Ranger fits both his efforts (which are tremendous) and his level of activity.

I like the idea of keeping a small military force, but five hundred is what I consider the maximum. We might need that much to defend our home. Who knows.

There are new rules everyone, I am awaiting the final call from Elgee, but I'm pretty sure she'll approve it.

First off, myself and EverEve have redone the rules of positions so that it goes like this:
High Rangers- They search and find new recruits then bring them to the Majors.
Majors ne of the Majors(whoever wants to) battles the person who wants to join in the Battle Arena, then the Leader and Captains vote or denie him/her joining
Captains - Do the Newsletter and help vote in new members, and make decsions about alliances and other more important issues along with Elgee.

Secondly, if you do not try and follow what your are excpected to do, a vote will happen between the Captains and Elgee to see if the person is suspended. If you are suspended you will be told how long it will be for, after the time you may come back and try again. If you post in The Rangers Guild Space while suspended more time will be added to your suspension.

The thing is, the whole battle part is not really to see whether or not you will get in, but to see what kind of skills the person has. so, if you dont do entirely wonderfully in the battle arena, it doesnt mean you wont get in. see what i mean?

think of it as sort of an orientation deal. not only does it give us a chance to see how the person fights, but it also gives the guild a chance to see how the person Rp's. you dont have to do wonderfully in it, but you at least have to try. we can also see how quickly a person thinks on their feet....did i do any better explaining?

Its a guild, newcomers wont feel the loyalty that our characters to, and they wont want to do all that work to get into a guild, when they can join the Mithril Knights or HI with a simple "CAN I JOIN" post. its pointless.

Whats not to be comfortable about? The Arena is fun if you do it, and you can join HI wasily, but still have to go through lots of classes(which arent very fun). i wont agree with that either. participation is manditory to remain a member, but the form of participation should be optional.

To join:
Ask in the joining thread. All will be accepted, unless there is a huge reason for us (the ranger leaders) to think against it. that will be addressed via PM.

To Maintain membership:
post regurlarly in this thread, the bar, the rp or the arena. or all, but post regularly. Members should be given warnings after every 2 weeks of unexplained inactivity for a month, and removed from the roster after a month and a half. (nice long time)

ill submit something in the way of rank roles later, but these are my ideas for now.

High Rangers - Recruits sounds like a good job for them.

Majors - I like them doing the newsletter.

captans - can be in charge of welcoming new members and accepting them along with Ecte and Elgee. (by the way, Ecthe, i dont understand what your job in the guild is. i mean, your title) also can be helpful with keeping track of member roster and sending out PMs that address the members of the rangers.

Well Evie thought I desereved I higher rank so I made one, and it basically is a Captain just higher in rank. Also, Evie and I have made another idea that I think would welcome new Rangers well. What happens is the person asks to join in the Join Thread, then they are made honorary members of the Guild. Then they hang out for a week or two, once they make a few friends they challenge one (but must be a Major a higher) in the BA. This way when they are made real mems they already have friends and we have the chance to see how they act. WHat do you think about that Goldie?

Well I personally greatly dislike the Battle Arena. I'll fight a battle, but only if someone challenges me personally, like Dain did with the Smoke Art Contest tie braker thingie... Not that that was a serious fight... hehe neway. If you insist on making new members fight in the battle arena, I like the idea of letting them be on for a while. But... I don't see the point in having them fight in the battle arena. None of your reasons make much sense. They just seem silly to me, like someone is trying to exsert way too much control over the members here, and I am pretty sure it ain't Elgee.

I am not trying to control anyone, honest. :) And, no, it ain't Elgee. All I meant was that there needs to be some sort of orientation. Maybe it doesn't need to be the BA. They are simply ideas that we presented.

I pmed Ecth what I thought would be a better idea than the battle thing (I personally do not care for the arena).

I suggest the person submits a profile. A profile will tell us a bit about their RP'ing skills, character, etc.

We could also put together a set of more specific rules (against spamming, certain RP actions, etc) which they would have to agree to.

Spamming is normally the mods job, but I would set a standard somewhat over what we now have. . . and something specific.

Recruiting and all is a good idea. I still think the profile idea is preferable.

i dont agree that we should boot members because they are inactive. hey look at me!!!!! i was away for a whole month!!!(or 2) and i came back as a major.

i think that it is the ranks duty to pm members that have not posted or been active in anyway to ask if they are still wanting to be inthe guild.

joininf should be less harsh...we need members. we are not at that kind of point (members wise) to be able to say, no you sux so you cant be in. Again look at me....i haven't gone into the rps at all!!!!

so i think that we could use the rangers II thread as a council thread (we dont use it for anything else) and the ranks talk about this until they come to a disision (sp?).

BTW i will post a bmp in this thread as a basic idea for a rangers icon(for the webpage) and if anyone if artistically inclined can they work on it and basically anyone can comment on it.

I can see if someone posts once or twice and then suddenly never comes again and never does anything with us kicking them out. Some people post that amount on the entire forum and then leave, loosing interest.

However, if someone has a good prior record, we should give them the benefit of the doubt if they disappear. Perhaps after a certain amount of time, if they are high up, give their position to someone else. If, however, they give us warning "Hey I'm going on a vacation and will be gone." etc before they leave then there position should remain static. . .unless they are saying they will be gone for more than six months.

On rank jobs :

High Rangers - Try and get new recruits for The Rangers.

Majors - Newsletter and help break ties of voting that happen between the Captains and Elgee.

Captains - Newsletter (if the Majors don't do it) and they discuss and vote on important decisions with Elgee.

On kicking out members : A member of the Guild needs to post how long he/she will be gone, if they do so, their rank stays. If a member leaves without notice and is gone for 2 weeks will go down one rank (unless he/she is a Ranger) after another 2 weeks(1 month) the member is kicked off, but has another 2 weeks to ask to rejoin without any hassle.

On new members : New members will need to read the rules and expectations thread that will be soon made (don't worry, the expectations wont be very tough).


The votes for these rules were unanimous, so please try and do them, thank you all.

the news letter is bacically a whay in which the ranks communicate important infomation to the guild so that they do not have to send and tell everyone indiviually.
it is how ever set up so that once a week someone that has spent a reasonable amount of activity in all ranger threads and affairs is able to keep a overall view of the guild update for the rest of the guild.

while it might not be as important to the guild with numbers as low as they are, when we get member number up to about 1 mil
we will need it badly

this aside guys, we need to get our activty up.
i dont know, but i think that if we dont keep it up we are likey to get our guild space taken away.

also i have been working on the website and i think that i have it somewhere near presentable, i do how ever need ideas and stuff that i can use in the site especially in the form of long essays and stuff.!!

i will therefore create a thread that we can post ideas and items that we like in so that i can put it in the webpage(seeing that i is the guild website i think that we should put our guild stuff in it)

ok and keep that activity upuppuupup!!!

A party really doesnt take that much planning. Honestly, just say there'll be a party for the ranger's hitting their 20th member, and do it. Or are you making this a multi-guild party? In which case, simply assign someone to send out invitations.

Personally, my activity in this guild dropped as of late because of all the party talk. We are rangers. Our RP is declining, though we have an awesome story going. We dont need Bar/Inn activity, we need people posting in this thread, the other ranger thread, the RP discussion thread, the wars (we always need someone active in that, i suppose), and possibly the battle arina.

Thats what we NEED to keep ourselves together as a guild. lets focus more on what we NEED than what we WANT.

I personally am against the Sadaam thing. We have to remember that there are probably people here deeply affected by this war. I know at least four people who have loved ones on the front line right now. One of whom I grew up with. I am not anti-war, although Goldie is. I am neutral to the whole thing, but I would not participate because I feel it would be mocking those that I know and others know on the front line.

Normally when things get dull we start fighting again, but instead I'd suggest having a counterplot. . .the badguys get a new and evil plan to stop us (We have a scene where the dark evil guy is telling a minion to do something vague and scary sounding) we discover some great secret. . . some sort of odd plot twist.

Ok everyone here's the deal, I will be checking and if you haven't posted in a Ranger's thread by Thursday you will be suspended for a determined period. I'm back everyone, I just got back from a family trip to Venice and Paris, great fun. I would also like to advise everyone to join ME RPG.com which is where all rp's are going, also I think are Rp still has much to go and not enough time to finish before it's closed like all the others. The Rangers have technically applied for a guild space on the new site. Whether or not we'll make a complete move (or if we have to), I'm not sure.

i have an idea...what if we move all the rp stuff over to merpg and have this one for ooc and administration stuff. why not?

we can make it so that they (new guys) have to join here and then we let them get used to the guild here (the bar and maybe a intro rpg) then when they are comfortable they can move to merpg.com and do hard out rps with the rest of the guild.


btw does anyone think that we need an election. like decide the leaders of both places(if we want them to have different leaders) or just get an active leadership for our guild to get moving.

I think for the sake of clarity leaders should be the same on both sites. If you guys think we need an election, we might as well have one. That's up to you. Most of our positions aren't elected, so it would be only the top two up for grabs.

What's wrong with the leadership we have now? Different leaders for different sites would only add to the general confusion and chaos of moving, in my opinion.

And aDaHe, I like that idea of having this place for OOC and such and having MERPG for the all-out rp's.

That would make the most sense, HG. Thank you for the suggestion (the thing about ooc and ic. The election thing really depends. I don't know how Cir planned to have guild leaders set up in MERPG, meaning if he planned to have them change every so often).
