Having looked at Lhunithiliel's interview, I have a book to recommend (but maybe you have read it already, Lhun). I don't even know if it's still in print, as It's few years since I read it (this is looking less and less like a helpful post).

Because you love animals, and seem to be a Douglas Adams fan, I suggest you read "Last Chance to See" by Douglas Adams and Mike Carwardine. These two men travelled the world to see animals on the brink of extinction, and Adams wrote an account of the trip. In that book I learned that Adams had a total grip on reality whilst being able to ignore it at the same time to do something totally ridiculous like write a computer programme, (to show a bird who lays its eggs in a pile of dung of precise size and shape to maintain the temperature for hatching), which calculates exactly how much dung the bird will need and how deep it must dig to obtain the correct temperature.

I know you're not 'religious', but your choice of animals you'd like to be is interesting; it reminds me of the last verse of Isaiah 40: "...those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Also, Fay Sampson wrote a series of Analogous childrens books (Pangur Ban the white cat), where the Christ figure was a dolphin. Spooky!

I would also like to know, Lhun, what sort of book you would like to write (or are writing/have written) for publication?

And what have you got against Spring?

And, my boss, i like Sting too.
How was that:
I dream of rain...yerei yerei I dream of gardens in the desert sand....

Or you prefer the older, mellow Sting?
You forget the sun and this jealous sky when you walk thru fields of gold...

I prefer that:

...In his arms she fell as her hair came down
Among the fields of gold

Will you stay with me, will you be my love
Among the fields of barley...

I guess I'm too emotional when I listen to Sting's music;)

Thanks friends! :D

Now... El, thank you for the reccommendations! I'll see if I can find that book. Curious mind is this Mr.Adams, isn't he!

And the spring.... I don't know... It just does not impress me... Winter is so inspiring ...when snow is all around and everything is so white and pure... And autumn - so colourful, so quiet...!
Summer - the life is felt! But spring...

As for the book... Well... a few pages written :o ....and still have to figure it in my mind...when...and ...IF...I finally find some rest and peace to do that! ;) :)

Sting....... My favourites by him: The shape of my heart; When we dance; Mad about you.... and of course the Desert Rose! ... Lots of his music "turns me up" :D

**************

Hey, Findi, where are the other interviews?

BTW, EXCELLENT WORK MY FRIEND!!

EXCELLENT!!!! :D

Anthony Kiedis, in one of RHCP's songs entitled I Could Die For You, sings:

...Close the door and
No one has to know
How we are... ;)

Sorry for that, but I couldn't prevent myself from quoting (RHCP's mad fan!).

Now seriously...
I know her a while, but it seems to me like I've known her all my life (maybe even in 'previous life', too--that's a thought, huh?;)). We've got so much in common...

All right, to all curious people ot there:

We wanted to get Sting perform live for the event, but the man said on the phone that he was busy, so the engagement has temporarily been postponed :) .
He sends greetings to the Guild!:D
Any other questions?

Why don't we ask RHCP instead?

Are you serious? Sting?
I don't believe it...and you spoke to him?

Just goes to show the ignorance of young Americans, but... Who's Sting? And who's RHCP? Never heard of any of these guys... (or girls)... I get that they're bands (of how many members, I do not know) and that Sting is a major group, (or Finduilas is a huge fan), but that's all I can gather from your posts. I may be the only American that doesn't know them, but I still don't... I like science and writing poetry way too much to go in deeply with music. I love Classical, but Rock'n'Roll every now and then is good. I love The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones (and yet I'm only 15...)

I probably know less about american/european music bands than most people, since I live in a country with a very strong national musical industry. But, I know that Sting was the lead singer for the band The Police, and that he is a quite successful solo performer now. And that RHCP stands for "Red Hot Chili Peppers".

Don't worry Khôr'nagan, you aren't missing much :D; except of course for the brazilian artists, everybody is missing these... I bet you would recognize both Sting and RHCP if you heard some of their musics, though.

Gil-Galad

Well,RHCP or Sting?I prefer Sting,that's the music!
Or I if you ask me I would invite Stereo MC's of Fun Lovin' Criminals!

Finduilas

Hmmm...yes, if you hear Sting, you will definetely recognise him.
You should know the remix of the song I'll be missing you by Puff Daddy, well, the original is performed by Sting.

Btw, what about Gloria, Desi Slava or Anelia. Or you might prefer Azis... :D

I have enjoyed reading about everyone, especially those I do not speak with on MSN and knew very little about.

Eledhwen,

What does it feel like to visit the Eagle and Child? It has recently become a dream of mine to go there, to Oxford. I would like to see many places associated with Tolkien but especially that pub. I find it strange for me, because I have never before felt a need to visit a place because of historical value. That is just how great a person Tolkien was, I guess. He has interested me in language, real world history to an extent, and made a believer in God out of me though my faith/hope is not enough yet.

There are parts of the Eagle and Child which feel like you're still in the first half of the 20th century - from the front door to the end of the Rabbit room it's like that; then you reach the extension over the old stable yard which is now a dining area. In the Rabbit room framed on the wall, is a note the inklings wrote to the landlord to certify that they had just drunk his health. It was signed by all present. I imagined them sitting there, drinking, talking, smoking and laughing (not difficult, as the Rabbit Room seems to be populated by Tolkien clones).

Oxford pays little homage to Tolkien in the way of commercial tat. There isn't a Tolkien-based tourist attraction anywhere that I can think of, apart from just going and looking at where he trod. Birmingham, on the other hand, has produced a leaflet called "The Tolkien Trail" taking one to his childhood haunts. It would be useful if Oxford did the same.

I also want to visit Cheddar Caves (http://www.cheddarcaves.co.uk) which I read in 'Letters' was the inspiration for the glittering caves, and I'd love to find the glade at Roos (extreme south east Yorkshire) where Edith danced while John Tolkien watched, and he was inspired to create Luthien.
