An idea i had whilst musing about on MSN. Thought it would be fun. ;)

So who on the forum, do you think is best suited to who for online dating etc?

My first suggestion, has to be a very obvious one. ;)

Nóm and Aulë.

They so go together, :D if you have chatted to them both on MSN, your'll understand.

P.S. If you get picked, you dont have to online date the person you are picked to be with, its just in fun and theoretical, no pressure at all. :). . . cept Aulë and Nóm by me :D

Anyone and me. I mean, it doesn't matter who it is, I can look good with anyone, and make the other person look good as well (not to say that they don't already).:D

I think we should match up Thorin and one of the founders of the Legolas-Lovers Guild!

They'd be soooooo sweet together!

MacAddict and I :D Oh wait, that happened already.... *cough*

Aulë

How could you say that, Thol?
Nom is the perfect member (no swearing at all ;) ), and is known as the 'Eagle Scout' of the forum. Whilst I'm the evil little sod who abuses people and gets warning points. :p

I know a matching :D
Celebthol and Starflower
They get along very well in the Hobbit Trivia thread :p (Sorry Starflower, it's kinda insulting to you, isn't it? ;) )

If it wasn't for Wonks, I think Snaga and Elgee would make a BEAUTIFUL couple!!! Just think of all those wonderfully moral arguments :D. And I'm sure the phrase "you're dumb, but in a cute way" would come up a lot :D

Aulë

LOL, it appears so, but foreign people are always more fresh and different, plus the English girls i know are. . . well lets they drink and have sexual relations a LOT to much for my likings, and i have noted that not one American girl i know out of about 30+, is like this.

N and D????

Hehe.

Does anyone catch my drift?

I wouuuld put Aule with Eriol and Celebthol with SF! They have the empthy.;)

10 thousand dollar question: who to match Inderjit with?

Nom is well obiviously.

Aulë

Errr.....Eriol is a guy.....

And how about matching up Niniel and Beleg? ;)

Nóm
10-26-2003, 07:39 AM
Beleg, why pick me for Inderjit? Though he is an intelligent and humourous guy who shares my Tolkien interest... we're SO much NOT eachother's types. He's seven years younger than me besides. I'd rather find someone 7 years older instead ;). And anyhow, Inderjit is a metrosexual (eats pizza, crackers, sandwiches, chips ;) with a fork [and knife? :P]... drinks ale with a straw ;)... doesn't go camping.... affraid of dirt... wears nicer clothes than I do... takes too long getting ready to go out... he couldn't handle me... has a better chance than I do with Gildor Inglorion... am jealous of his beauty... etc etc...) and I do not go for that. Besides... I'm not a good girl enough, nor attractive enough for him.

Beorn... hmmm let's see... there must be someone for you... hmm... okay... I decided it is a good thing you were not mentioned Beorn. Means no feels the need to insult you. :p

Hey Thol, you're dead wrong about Aule and I. The guy calls me an idiot over MSN for crying out loud. We're like a couple of school boys in the back of the classroom when the teacher is out.

Hmm... however... we both like our pizza with a 'nice crispy texture'.. and Aule doesn't eat his with a fork... so hmmm perhaps you are onto something.

Ah but he made cruel jokes about puppies  and is so grounded in reality and in with the flow of things as he lives in this world in truth being unaware of what it might be instead. Nevermind him!

He will IM me asking what that ment and I'll say "Don't ask me... I am just an idiot" ;)

I am not really sure what we have... ;) but I find it rather flattering, after all, Thol is a good ten years younger than me..

:D :D

Rhiannon
10-26-2003, 08:03 AM
Don't feel badly, Eliot, no one wants me either! But I'm a general nuisance, so that's understandable. And my domestic skills are....well, I kill spiders and cause minor explosions in the kitchen. Oh, and I shelve books. And I like my pizza deep dish with just cheese and lots of it. Fork usage varies according the pizza, location, apparel, and mood. Also whether or not I've been using the silverware to put on skits, which I'm prone to do.

Aulë
10-26-2003, 08:07 AM
Rhiannon and Dain II Ironfoot would be a good match :) They both seem rather obsessed with Eowyn, and could spend their days rambling about how admirable she is, and abusing people like me who critisize her. :D

metrosexual is a newish term coined to describe the modern man, who cooks, cleans, spends his money on designer clothes, has skin and hair professionally treated, and generally is behaving in a "non-macho" way , they are called metrosexual as they are definitely heterosexual but have ventured into a territory previously occupied by gay men . Think David Beckham , he's the perfect example

:)

Yay and Rhi would be ideal :)

I didn't abuse you!...I merely made you think beyond your petty attempts to cause trouble! I like Dain. Dain flatters my writing ;)

You kill spiders???
Oh yeah. We have big monster spiders running around. I think Shelob's offspring migrated to Oklahoma. And my sister is like you, she can't handle them (this is really entertaining, because she's the 'tough one'). So I have to do it for her (which is also really entertaining- "Hey cool, Rachel, look! Its legs are still wiggling!" "Aaaaugh!").

Rhiannon... I think men have bad taste in women. At least, that's how I get myself to sleep each night . Prefering to have some lady who doesn't put on silverware skits is madness!

The spiders would not be the only thing to die in such a relationship. Nope nope nope. No offense to Yay. But he's a pessimisst and I am an idealist...and I have a spork.

OBSESSED WITH EOWYN, AULE?

More or less defensive of her accomplishments, which certain people dont give her credit for. ;) And of course, how can I resist not supporting Rhiannon in her quest to Eowynize the world? (A futile task, I must say :p )

If only Elbereth were a bit younger, I would definitely lay the magic French charm on her. Yowza! Who could resist that?

HLGStrider

I think I could resist it . . .

I can kill spiders when I absolutely have to, but normally I am shaking and miss and they fall off the ceiling and run at me and I scream. . .it isn't pretty.

I can bake ANGEL FOOD CAKE!

Gosh, how could you not know Eriol was a guy?

Elbereth and Eriol might have a chance. . .they're even in the same age group.

Does anyone remember me and Gil-Gilad? That was an odd number.

Spiders tickle. Spiders prickle. Spiders are all icky-ickle.
Spiders itch and spiders scratch. To your belly they attach.
Spiders crawl and spiders creep. Jump on me while I'm asleep.
Spiders smirk and spiders growl. I see a spider. Then I howl.

I wrote that without any pre-planning whatsoever. Can you tell?

Rhiannon
10-27-2003, 03:38 AM

When you leave a dead spider upon your wall, it's called a Hunting Trophy. I do that all the time. . .until Mom makes me wipe them down. It serves as a warning to other creepy crawlies. . .

I like moths, however. Moths are sweet. . .and lacewings. . .and junebugs. . .and most things other than Spiders. Not Stink Bugs of course. . .but for a different reason than Spiders.

So no one try to match me up with a spider or a stink bug!

The Japanese eat crickets....for breakfast.

Let's see...I know Tal well, but I knew her long before I joined the forum. I know The-Elf-Herself and Kailita pretty well, and I'm getting to know Dain, and I'm familiar with Eliot's reading habits. And I know Eriol's views on love and FoolofaTook's views on John Donne (v. important)...

Never fear people! Elbereth has come to the rescue!!

I've come to make sense of the jumble of matches to make a clear list of who is with who.

So first lets see what couples did not make the cut:

Nom/Aule - too argumentative
Snaga/Elgee - too scary!
Eliot/Legolam - too abusive
powersauce/ Gandalf White - too incompatible
Aule/Eriol ??? - too many boys
Inderjit/Nom - too little in common
Niniel/Beleg - um....I really don't know why?
Ciryaher/DainII - too perfect...but not meant to be ;)
Rhiannon/YayGollum - too little interest
Dain/Elbereth - alas...he was born too late

Your Suggested (but not confirmed) Couples:

Thorin/LegolasLuver
MM/Thorin
YayGollum/The_Elf_Herself
Aule/Lhunithiliel

Eliot/Arabeth
Eliot/Feonorian
Eliot/Hobbitgirl
Eriol/Hobbitgirl
Eriol/Elbereth
RangerDave/Elbereth
Legolam/Legoman
Legolam/Beorn

Decided Couples:
Glorfindel/Anyone
MacAddict/Talierin
Celebthol/Starflower
Aglarthalion/himself
Rhiannon/DainII

Well that is what we have thus far...I will post my choices soon.

Elbereth
10-29-2003, 06:09 AM
First of all, before I make my choices I want to express my extreme attraction and like to all metrosexual men! Maybe it is just me...but I don't see anything wrong with an attractive guy who is well kept, well dressed, cultured, and sensitive to a women's feelings. And heck yeah a guy should be able to cook and clean as well as a woman! There is nothing wrong with that!

*phew!* I'm glad I got that out of my system...anyway back to my choices for TTF couples.

Galdor/Ms. Greenleaf
Dr. Ransom/Bethlarian
Legoman/Tookishgirl
Mrs. Maggot/ Walter
Turgon/Chrysophalax
YayGollum/Tar Ancalime

And the many matches of Beorn:

Beorn/ WM - :D hehehe
Beorn/ (:p) - ya know I luv you guys!
Beorn/ with his computer
Beorn/Wonko - no wait! Snaga will kill him!!

aww, Powersauce I do want to match with you, but you see that my amazing, prophetic, telekenitic mental skills informed that our match bodes ill for both of us. :o :(

A year makes a whole lode of difference.
For example I am fifteen and I call a seventeen year old girl auntie because she is two years the eldar of me.
1 year + 1 YEAR=Two year.
So one year is VERY important.

Saucy
10-30-2003, 07:52 PM
The girl has to be younger...its weird otherwise....
because gurls mature faster. so even though its only one yr, depending on the person it might seem like more.
and BC is too concided;)

can we all just remember that this is about our ONLINE identities , and POTENTIAL ONLINE couples. This is not about going out on a real date wiht someone and what not..
and yes, Beleg, there is nothing wrong with a big age gap between people who go out, it depends on compatibility. Some people can be really mature at the age of 15, while some poeple might be incredibly immature at the age of 35.
If you're looking for examples, look at Demi Moore and Ashton Kutchner, literally , she could be his mother agewise. Also J TImberlake and Cameron Diaz, they have 12 years between them if I'm not mistaken...

And I for one am very pleased at being paired up with Thol, I think he's a very nice young man :)

Yeah...age doesn't matter as much as the people do...though, say, being romantically involved with someone who knew you as a runny-nosed two year old might occaisonally be awkward.

Me, I like older men. Like, Sean Connery type older men.

There isn't such a thing as an Oregon accent. Everyone who lives here comes from somewhere else and has that sort of accent. . .at least it seems that way sometimes. My great grandfather was from Missouri, for instance.

Though I have been told I mispronounce veil.

hey what's wrong with Elgee and Gandalf White?

The beard. . .I don't date guys with long white beards. .. or pointy hats. And then when I would be trying to get into the bathroom to do my makeup in the morning he'd be in there and yell out, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"

It would never work.

or Thol and Elgee, if we are going by age

He's younger than me! I don't do the younger guy thing. . .Plus I'd be too busy correcting his spelling to enjoy the relationship.

Naw, neither of us have the chance with her, she only goes for older guys

True. . .and only older guys go for me. My grandma complains that I'm always getting looked up one side and down the other by guys over forty. I don't notice this from younger guys.

Then she can go with MD!

Is that Michel Delving? I'm really not sure. . .

Celebthol and Flammifier.

GASP! FLAM'S A FEMALE????

Gandalf White and Elgee.

Why list us twice?

I read books and kill spiders. And throw rocks at stupid people. Also drink chocolate milk, eat Kettle Corn, recite The Princess Bride, and have a boot fetish.

TIM: Behold the cave of Caerbannog!
ARTHUR: Right! Keep me covered.
KNIGHT: What with?
ARTHUR: Just keep me covered.

ARTHUR: What, behind the rabbit?
TIM: It is the rabbit!
ARTHUR: You silly sod! You got us all worked up!
TIM: Well, that's no ordinary rabbit. That's the most foul, cruel,

ROBIN: You tit! I soiled my armor I was so scared!
TIM: Look, that rabbit's got a vicious streak a mile wide, it's a
killer!
KNIGHT: Get stuffed!
TIM: It'll do you a trick, mate!
KNIGHT: Oh, yeah?
ROBIN: You mangy Scot git!
TIM: I'm warning you!
ROBIN: What's he do, nibble your bum?
TIM: He's got huge, sharp-- he can leap about-- look at the bones!
ARTHUR: Go on, Boris. Chop his head off!
BORIS: Right! Silly little bleeder. One rabbit stew comin' right up!
TIM: Look!
[squeak]
BORIS: Aaaugh!

ARTHUR: Jesus Christ!
TIM: I warned you!
ROBIN: I peed again!
TIM: I warned you! But did you listen to me? Oh, no, you knew it all,
didn't you? Oh, it's just a harmless little bunny, isn't it? Well,
it's always the same, I always--
ARTHUR: Oh, shut up!
TIM: --But do they listen to me?--
ARTHUR: Right!
TIM: -Oh, no--
KNIGHTS: Charge!
[squeak squeak]
KNIGHTS: Aaaaugh! Aaaugh! etc.
KNIGHTS: Run away! Run away!
TIM: Haw haw haw. Haw haw haw. Haw haw.
ARTHUR: Right. How many did we lose?
KNIGHT: Gawain.
KNIGHT: Hector.
ARTHUR: And Boris. That's five.
GALAHAD: Three, sir.
ARTHUR: Three. Three. And we'd better not risk another frontal
assault, that rabbit's dynamite.
ROBIN: Would it help to confuse it if we run away more?
ARTHUR: Oh, shut up and go and change your armor.
GALAHAD: Let us taunt it! It may become so cross that it will make
a mistake.
ARTHUR: Like what?
GALAHAD: Well,....
ARTHUR: Have we got bows?
KNIGHT: No.
LAUNCELOT: We have the Holy Hand Grenade.
ARTHUR: Yes, of course! The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! 'Tis one
of the sacred relics Brother Maynard carries with him! Brother Maynard!
Bring up the Holy Hand Grenade!
[singing]
How does it, uh... how does it work?
KNIGHT: I know not, my liege.
ARTHUR: Consult the Book of Armaments!
MAYNARD: Armaments, Chapter Two, Verses Nine to Twenty-One.
BROTHER: "And Saint Atila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying,
'Oh, Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow
thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and
people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies,
and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large --"
MAYNARD: Skip a bit, Brother.
BROTHER: "And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the
Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three
shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting
shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two,
excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once
the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou
thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe, who being naughty
in my sight, shall snuff it.'"
MAYNARD: Amen.
ALL: Amen.
ARTHUR: Right! One... two... five!
KNIGHT: Three, sir!
ARTHUR: Three!

Is that where it was from? I'm afraid I've only seen that movie once. :( And I missed the Black Knight and witch-drowning scenes. :( :(

I'm sure we can come up with someone....

Eliot, first of all I want you to know that it's not because of them that I must ask you that, but as I find myself your avatar particularly annoying and as you don't seem to be planning to change it... I'm afraid I have to say it: Would you please try something else for a few days, just to see that you can live without it? I'm sure that we are all ready to help you.;)

S'il te plaît.

Mmm... I would understand if someone doesn't like Marlene Dietrich...

I hope that you will forgive me one day. Just know that I had to do that for your own good.:D :D :D
