Sorrrrrrrrrry!!!!It's a sad day when you can't stick your bottom lip out every now and then when things don't go your way.
I just got back from a week in sunny Mallorca (I know, you never noticed I was gone!). It was like Blackpool, only with more sunburn. I booked a last minute deal; I was tempted by a very good deal to Bulgaria, but the flight out was from Gatwick (nr London) and the return flight would land at Glasgow in Scotland. I am still wondering if they found any takers.
I posted in the Birthday thread before I went, but I would still like to wish Lhun very belated birthday greetings and a happy and prosperous year ahead.
I'm sorry that I'm being so useless around here (although I don't appear to be the only one slacking off ;) ), but I'm being slaughtered by exams. They'll last for a couple more weeks, then I'll be going on holidays (to the Gold Coast in Queensland) for three weeks.
Hopefully after all that, I'll be able to contribute around here. :)

I'm being slaughtered by examsEveryone has to deal with life outside the forum - especially when it's something as important as exams (and holidays in sunny Queensland!) Oh for a real rabbit room to retire to and meet face to face over a cold drink.

Eledhwen,BG???You wanted to go to BG?oo you missed a great vacation thre, trust me.Iknow, I know! If only they would have flown us back to Gatwick instead of Glasgow we would have gone. Maybe next time I get the urge to fly off at a few days notice, Bulgaria will come up again. It's not straightforward with a family of five.

One dragon has returned from hiatus, namely this one. The apartment is not completely finished yet, but I'll be present nontheless.
Where do we stand at the moment in regards to this guild? Have we made definite plans yet whether we are moving to the books section, or are we still at a mexican stand-off?

"...There was the dragon, lying half across a broken hedge with his
horrible head in the middle of the road ...wide awake looking at all.
`Good morning!' said the dragon. `You seem surprised!
'Good morning!' said Lhun. `I am that. But to tell you the truth, glad I am , too!'
`Excuse me,' said the dragon. He had cocked a very suspicious
ear when he caught the sound of rings jingling, as the lady
moved. `Excuse my asking, but were you looking for me, by any
chance?'
`No, indeed!' said the farmer. `Who'd a' thought of seeing you
here? I was just going for a ride.'
`Then we meet by good luck,' said the dragon. `The pleasure is
mine.'
'And mine!' said Lhun. 'All mine, Master Dragon! And to begin with, I'd say that nothing much you'll find in these lands. Life, you know, has been going on without much hustle and bustle lately. And how about you? Far lands you seem to have wandered to. It happens that I have plenty of time today, Master. I would be delighted to hear your story. What say you?.... "

First off, I'd like to say
CONGRATULATIONS, ANGEL !!!!!!!
What you have achieved is of extreme importance ... and it is!! For this is one of those first steps we take in our lives fully aware of the power of free will that we have been blessed with.
. . .
Aaaah! Except for me, I know a certain Maya who must be bursting with pride now!!!
Enough! Too much good is not too good (for a wraith of course! :D )
Angel, "fat" I am only temporarily. Someone has to do the "dirty" job of "cleaning", right? ;)
As for flying ... Hey! Watch out! That dark cloud in the skies ... don't you think it's somehow strange? ;)

Hey, guys!
It's nice to hear from you all!
Of course, summer ... time to relax and have fun...
So, GG will come to the very right place where this can be done! ;) :D
And you Blue Angel .... C'mon! Don't be so blue !!!
(BTW, where is that Maya Queen of ours ??? )
And Findi is somewhere on the coast (though, poor her!, the weather is being so nasty!) .. And El - having her computer fixed ... People seem to have scattered ...
But I guess this is quite normal for this time of the year.
Yet, I, whenever have the time, don't miss to chance to read a line or two.
Meanwhile, the "Library" was cleaned and soon I will transfer there those threads from the "Noldorin Forge", that fit better in the "Library".
GG, for the NF I have a great (...or so it seems ... :p ) idea for an activity!
And Manv, I have another one for the "Caves".
And if you only knew how much I miss the "What if?" - stories!!!!
And ... a couple of other things .... ;)
But, 'tis summer!!!
Guys, and have you thought of the fact that just when the active season starts we'll have our dear friend gate7ole back? I know he's been impatient to come back after all that time in the army, away from Tolkien!
Meanwhile, I'd like to tell you as well, that the Webmaster has not answered to my letter yet.
But ... whatever his final decision might be, the community, I very much hope, is and will be here.
Wraithfully yours

Gate7ole back????Finally!!!
I remember the old times with him and "The What "If" Game".It has passed a long time since I saw him here for last time.I hope his is done with his military service.
It is getting quite interesting here, with the returning of some old members.I see also Beleg around-nice to see you here ;).
Lhun just send me a pm about your NF's idea :) I am eager to read it.What is more I would like to start Economy of Middle-earth.Volunteers?I think that in the following two weeks I will publish the beginning of my work concerning The Numenoreans.
But let me first take my flight back -9 hours more !!!!!!! and 12 till I kiss again my girlfriend!!!

Guys, to start those activities I'm speaking about, just as well as to continue the existing ones, people are needed. Right? :)
And people have scattered because of the summer vacation.
However, ... how do you want me to let you know my thoughts about the new ideas - in PM-s or openly in a thread?
But .... both of you, if my wraithish mind is still clear, are in charge of two large sections of these halls.
So... Don't you have what to occupy your mind with ?!!! :p
Oh, and GG, I'll probably need your help for moving some threads around.
**********
P.S. Manv, is M. on archeological excavations somewhere in the country? I wouldn't be surprised! So many new ancient sites have been recently discovered!
Anyway, when you "meet" her in the ether, pass to her a "Hello!" from me! :)

Hello from Bulgaria.
I thought I was going to have a nice time in my country,a vacation that I deserved. But I learned about my grandfather's death one month ago.Nobody told me while I was in Belgium because they were afraid of my reaction and what I would have done if they had told me.
That is why I needed some time and I went to the mountains for a week.I just do not know what is happenning with me-since some time I've had nothing but bad luck.
Tonight I am going to the seaside for a couple of days, because I do not want to stay at home and when I am back I suppose I will be online.
Lhun, just pm-me with the things you want me to do.Actually I am in SOZOPOL,do you want to visit me these days?
or if you want call my mobile,we can arrange something.
By the way I am almost done with the first part of my work concerning The Economy of Numenor.

Posted by Lhun in the Events Game:BTW, why don't you drop by the "Happenings" -thread and tell us where you've been, what new experience you've gained, what adventured you've passed through ... You have been away so long, dear Lady!
Well, if you really want to know where I've been... Here's the short version: I was on a bike tour through India, lived with Aboriginees for some weeks befor going to Guatemala as a nanny for a family of friends for two months.
:-D
Just kidding, since April I've been hanging around at school at my beloved Lake Constance, trying to stay awake during lectures and getting good grades for my diploma. If it wasn't for the lake to swim in and the tourists to laugh at it would be soo boring in Constance. But these two make up for everything.
And before that, I think I told you I was in San Francisco, CA to do an internship there for the winter. But of course you remember, I was quite active during those months, not having much else to do.
It's just that during semester I don't really feel like thinking much outside lectures... I don't know how you feel, but I always feel a bit tired and burned out after class. And when you have to read about 200 pages of "scientific" articles per week you don't really feel like reading anything more demanding than "Gone with the Wind". And to admit, I don't even feel like going online and ruining my eyes staring at my computer.
And what new experiences I've made... well, the most life-changing experience was my boyfriend who broke up with me while I was still in the US. And on coming back I, still madly in love, had a hard time learning he really didn't love me any more. So for the first time I had to cope with not only a broken heart, but with a whole life broken to pieces. (Luckily it is mended now and treated well by another wonderful young man.)
To all lovesick girls around here: Never, NEVER, listen to people who tell you that everyone has to go through this at least once and that it will be okay someday. This is not just the flu! Go out and treat your broken heart. Cry, fight, make your mistakes. This is about YOU and not about everyone. And if you want to make a fuss about it, do so and do it loud. It will help. Only keep in mind to calm down when you start feeling silly. That's the point where you're not in love with that guy any more.
That's why I've been away for such a long time.

The new bulgarian reporting......(with the faint hope that he will be safe from the wraith's anger:)))))))
I'm willing to incorporate here all the bulgarian colonies I'm part of, but this will be difficult (since almost none of my friends doesn't like Tolkien as much as I do:). So, you'll have to be satisfied with a single new bulgarian member for now.......
I'm working on the character of Turin Turambar (for The Gallery of Characters), and what's more - I'm willing to open a sort of discussion for him. How do you perceive him? As a tragic hero, beaten by the fate, or as an overprided fool, destroying everything he touches? Of course, the answers have to be based on Tolkien's works...
I'm waiting your opinions, and I'll try to incorporate them in my article about Turin. Hope I'll have enough time for it with all my duties going on...

gosh, "a single new bulgarian member for now"! gee, yea, that's really tragic... c'mon!! i can't remember the time when "a single new PL member" have joined... but still, don't feel very lonely with this :D
concerning Turin, well, i guess i've opened a thread (some time ago) about sth connected to him... it must have been very long ago, cos... i'm not very much into deep "scientific" discussions anymore (too "short" :( ) and i think it wouldn't be useful anyway... but you may search the fora; it's somewhere over there...
welcome aboard (btw, i'm not wraith yet; but watch out if you have in mind hanging out with her; it's contagious :p)

Now.... Soltan, it very much depends on what "twist" your idea about Turin has in order to decide where to start your discussion thread about him.
Perhaps, however, the best place for the moment shall be the The Silmarillion (http://www.thetolkienforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6) section of TTF.

One of the worst news is that everythinga that was saved on my old hard-disc is lost, including the 20pages work on the Numenorean,I guess I have to improvise on Monday :) (don't ask about my 16GB music collection   )

Hey folks,
since I'm a huge fan of computer games as well as Tolkien I'm willing to post and discuss with you an idea of mine:cool:
It's about an action-RPG (those who have something to do with games will know this type), taking place in........ MIDDLE EARTH (how unexpected:D :D ); just before and during the War of the Ring.
Anyone interested? If yes, name a place to post a thread with the details I have developed so far:)))))))
Astaldo
10-29-2004, 08:45 AM
Yeah I'm interested on this. The best place I think is the RPG section. Waiting eagerly to begin your story Soltan. :D
soltan gris
11-09-2004, 09:39 PM
hey guys,
just wanted to let you know I watched today for the first time the teaser of the RoTK Extended edition. I WAS SMASHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
Just like the other Extended Editions, this looks like the ACTUAL and COMPLETE work of Jackson, rather that the movie we saw in cinemas last Christmas, as compelling as it was! I CAN'T WAIT FOR IT TO ARRIVE:eek: :p :D
And, Astaldo, conserning my game idea, I took a look in the RPG section of the Forum and I found out that we are talking about different thinks here. The games started there are actually Online RPGs, with their stories and adventures developing in real time by real players, and by means of tekst messages. My idea is for an actual graphic game like Heretic and Hexen (if you know what I'm talking about:) and I'm gonna think of somewhere to put it in so you guys who are interested could express your opinion and maybe propose new development ideas;)
Now, anyone with a connection in the game developing industry?
Astaldo
11-09-2004, 11:06 PM
It seems that I misunderstood. And frankly I don't know this Heretic what it is.
soltan gris
11-20-2004, 05:53 PM
It's an old fantasy - action game. Fighters, swords, magics and stuff.....it was really cool at the time.
Now, of course, it's old-fashioned already. But if someone still remembers it , he'll have a general idea what I'm talking about:p
soltan gris
11-20-2004, 06:04 PM
OK guys, I decided to put my game idea in the Noldorin Forge. I'll start a thread there soon. Everyone interested should tremble in anticipation:D ;) :D

11-21-2004, 12:55 AM

hey there. whoa, these green boards seem familiar to my eyes ;) i know lately i've been here less than usual, but since i'm still learning to swim in the endless oceans of antiquity, still holding my head above the surface, but with this pace... it might take me a looooong time to swim across to the other side :) thus... agh, whatever. since one of my assignments for the next few weeks will be drowning in myths of ancient greece and rome, i have a question: does anybody still pay attention to those "comparative mythologies" threads? inder's work on achilles was great and to me, even without deeper look-ups in the books, at least some parts of T.'s characters' adventures ring a bell...
i'm not stating that i'll be able to write ath meaningful out of those "bells" (concerning my time runs like crazy), but new "inventions" are always welcome around, right? (i mean, still welcome  )
best of luck for all known (and dear) to me as well as new-commers :)

again something for all bulgarians (though it's a bit late for it already)
maybe i'm not a bulgarian... maybe i don't get all that is written above... but... sth red-and-white around my wrist still reminds me i'm a (small) part of it all :D
sth also reminded me that i was (still am?) part of these green boards once... so i decided to drop a line for old friends, new... everyone.
i know that saying that i'll try to find time to be a "live" part around here is worthless against writing sth connected with master t. so... i prefer just to say hello (and hope for more - still got unfinished things here, waiting, haunting me;))
------------
i see our "wraith" doesn't have too much time as well, or is it a lack of (sometimes) annoying people around her to stimulate some action? (i have a strange feeling i should have said it in small fonts, am i right?)
