The New And Improved Weeping Willow Pub

[Narya]

*Narya reopens her famous pub due to insistent public clamour and buys a spot near the townsquare*

"This should bring back old customers, and new ones as well" she thought. Then she put up a sign saying that there will be a big opening day on the 24th of Foreyule, which was a Wednesday at 5 o'clock on the afternoon. Lots of ale and roasted lamb to be served at half price.

Then she writes a letter to her dear friend Chrysy - the then dragon of honor - and asks her presence at the said occasion. She also invited her old friends, Goldie and Elby, and all the other patrons of the pub.

To draw in new crowds, she puts a sign up front saying

MORE SEATS AVAILABLE FOR EVERY RACE. SEATS AND MEALS INCLUDE THOSE FOR THE DARK SIDE. NO RUMBLES WHATSOEVER, ONLY WHEN NECESSARY AND A DRAGON TO KEEP WATCH AND TO DIP UNCOOPERATIVE RASCALS IN NEARBY RIVER.

[Aragorn21]

*enters Inn* "Where do I pay?" Aragorn asks.

[Narya]

*hobbles over to the new customer*

"Well, you need to order something first...so what will it be?"

[Aragorn21]

"ok, I'll have BBQ ribs and pepsi please."

[Narya]

"Coming right up!" the nimble hobbit runs towards the kitchen and fetches the ordered barbecue and pepsi and brings it out.

"That'll be 10 shillings!"

[Aragorn21]

*hands the kind hobbit the rightful amount and wonders if anyone else will come join him*

[Narya]

"I hope there will be more customers to go in today. I am going to have a beer drinking contest tomorrow. It's part of the opening ceremonies week celebration." replied the hobbit, making the customer jump as she seemed to read his mind.

"Would you like to join the beer drinking contest, good sir?
"

"o no thank you kinda hobbit, I don't drink, (*well everyone in ME i guess drinks*), at least not that much" :D

[Narya]

"Oh don't worry, if you get drunk, my dragon will dip you into the river, and shake you silly, that'll sober you up pretty quick. It worked for a couple of dwarves before. It should work again. Besides it'll be tomorrow. You can still prepare for it."

then winks on the customer, but the hobbit still hasn't learned how to wink with just one eye, so she winks at him with both eyes.

[Elbereth]

Elbereth enters...shrouded in a dark hood, protecting her from the light rain that was falling outside. As she enters she observes a man...possibly a ranger of sorts and very familiar looking hobbit in friendly conversation at the bar. The room is warm and friendly and a relief after traveling so far.

Removing her cloak, she hangs it on a nearby peg and then heads toward the two at the bar. As she does, she realizes who the hobbit is...and she exclaims happily, "Narya! Long time no see! It is so nice to see you! I got your invitation....I thought it was too good to be true, but here it is....the Weeping Willow anew!"

[Narya]

"By the valar!! It's Elbereth!" Exclaimed the hobbit, yelling so hard on the ranger's ear that he almost spilled his beer all over his mailshirt. The hobbit ran towards her good friend, which she sorely missed.

"How are you nowadays??? Well, I do hope you like the place. it's a lot larger than the old pub, so we can accomodate more customers. I hear there are a lot of passers by this time of year.
I am holding my yearly beer drinking contest today. Wanna judge it???"

[omnipotent_elf]

Omni enter the room. "Nice pub you got here. I heard that there were beer drinking contests. I'm interested"

[Narya]

"Hallo! Why yes!! We do have a beer-drinking contest here today. And I will sign you up as one of the contestant" *Signs Omni as a contestant for the Beer-Drinking contest.* "Please invite your friends to come over and ask them to join as well."

[Aragorn21]

*Aragorn stands up a walks over to the hobbit* "I could help judge if you like." he suggests.

[Elbereth]

"Well, you can sign me up as Judge well dear friend. But before that why don't you pour me a fine Shire wine and let me take a seat so I can tell you all about my adventures." Elbereth says giving her friend a kindly pat on the back.

[Narya]

"Alrighty then...Aragorn21 is a judge." *signs him up as one of the judges* "I will tell you the criteria for judging later. " *turns to the Queen of Stars and upon hearing an order of the finest Shire Wine, the HObbit's face fell*"Well...I don't have the finest shire wine just yet. MAde the order a week ago but seems something has happened to it. Hasn't come. I wanted it so badly I ordered about 20 barrels of the dratted thing. I still have a bottle of Dorwinion wine if you like, though I believe, you did not like the taste of it before. Can I offer you tea instead?"

Owe takes a position in the back of the pub, meditating so as to get himself into the best drinking state of mind. Before entering his position, he stated "I have no competiotion, atm, please tell me when competition come, unless you just wanna see me drink :D"

[chrysophalax]

A lovely green Dragon with a slightly bedraggled appearance flew low over the Weeping Willow Pub and she sighed, remember ing all the roast lamb she had been fed, by a nice Hobbit once upon a time. To her surprise, smoke was curling once again from the chimney and delicious scents tickled her nostrils. Eagerly, she landed and squeezed her head in through the door, causing the patrons to look over in momentary alarm. "Naryaaaaa! Are you there!? It's me! Chrys!"

*Celebdraug walkin in all soaked and cold! Recognises a few people here and smiles! Goes and sits by the fire!*

Finduilas enters the warm pub absolutely frozen. She sees the 'cheerful' fire and sits in front.

"Gosh, what a winter,"she says.

After warming up herself, Finduilas goes to the bar and (...carefully checking whether GG is watching...;)) orders:

"A good whiskey, please, and some nuts."

Calm and delighted, Findi sits in front of the fire and peacfully watches the cheerful people around...

[Narya]

*the little hobbit reeled aroung at the sound of a familiar loved voice.* " Could it be???" she asked. Then she scuttled out of the kitchen to see most of her customers crouched and trembling at the edge of the pub, and right there at the door peering was her old friend, the beautiful dragon of honor that once graced her pub has returned, and the hobbit ran towards her good old friend, and as if in slow motion, the dragon kept wagging her enormous head, and the smaller customers went flying to the roof, swearing all the way, and the larger customers holding on to anything nailed to the floor.

"Chrysy!!!! I was wondering when you'd come back! Wow!!! You look wonderful!!!"

and the little hobbit hugged her friend as best as she can then noticed that there was somebody who wanted to join the drinking contest.

Chrys licked the small Hobbit's face, knocking her over, then proceeded to lie down in the doorway, a old tactic she frequently employed to get some roast lamb. Customers had to struggle past her, but it only amused her more to see that some of them actually couldn't fit. She ignored the many unkind words that flew in her direction as she knew could any one of them if she pleased, but being of mild temperament, she only sprawled her full length and wait for her supper.

[Narya]

"ooohhh, I know what you want dear friend...I know exactly what you want!!!" cried the little hobbit, excited at the arrival of the great dragon. She scuttled off to the kitchen once more, took out all the nice roasted lamb that was warming at the hearth, then placed them back inside the oven, based them with honey garlic and lemon concuction. After about 5 minutes they come out, smelling heavenly, and she placed them on Chrysy's beautiful platter, and served them up with much gusto.

"Here you go, just the way you want it!"

Elbereth looks around the Weeping Willow and a thoughtful look spreads across her face.

"Hey Narya! Shouldn't we decorate this old place. We need to get this place nice and festive for the holidays don't you think?"

[Finduilas]

"Fantastic idea, Elbereth!"

Finduilas decks the fireplace with a nice red-and-green-coloured garland. She looks at it for a moment and then goes out...

In a few minutes she enters the room with a box of colourful garlands and christmas balls as well as a stupidious grin on her smile.

"So, what do you say, guys? Shaw we start?" :)

[Kellivara]

*a dark shadow-cloaked figure walked up to the pub, stopping for a moment by the dragon and bowing her head and shoulders noticeably in a gesture of respect. Without another word, she jumped upward toward the door, grabbing onto the doorframe and swinging the rest of the way in, so as not to disturb the lazing dragon. Seeing as swinging in had caused her shadow-cloak to flow behind her for a moment, her identity had most likely been revealed by now anyway, so there was really no use in keeping her cloak on. So Kell dropped the hood on the cloak, grinning.* "Hello all, my name is Kellivara. May I have an ale please?"

Omni leaves the room, passing the figure named Kell. Ruturning a short time later, with a few friendly dwarves carrying a large, but bare christmas tree behind him, Omni walked towards Kell. "feel like helping decorate a tree?." he grinned around the room. lets get into the christmas spirit. Oh, and barkeep, if you dont mind, these dwarves are owed some ale" At that, Omni walked to the bar, and slammed down a small purse full of coins. "my shout tonight"

[Narya]

*noticing the hubub of the large folks who just go about their business passing her by (after all they were like 6 feet tall and she was a small hobbit about 3 feet or so) and she got all excited when they brought in a tree, but when they made a move to raise it up they hooked the little hobbit's apron by mistake sending her dangling up the large tree that they now began to bedeck with decorations.*

"Ah...Hello!! Will someone please help me down?"

[Wonko The Sane]

*The door slams open and Wonks strides confidently in, a grin on her face and a need for booze in her heart*

I can't believe it's reopened! I'm SOOOOO going to get Goldie back over here!! You can't have the Weeping Willow Pub without Wonks and Goldie getting HORRIBLY drunk somewhere on the premises!!!


*Rushes back out to look for her little friend*

[Narya]

* the little hobbit was still left unnoticed in the great commotion in the pub. Whilst the decorations were being laid, a familiar voice was heard in the room*

"Oh well, I was wondering when you'd be showing up..." She began to say but was cut-off when the person went running out the door without noticing her, and she just sighed.

[Wonko The Sane]

*Just as Narya's sigh goes unnoticed for the second time Wonks comes running back in.*

I sent Goldie a letter, hopefully she'll show up! *Hearing a small cough she turns up to see Narya trapped near the top of the large Christmas tree in the corner. Muttering something about stilts and hobbit legs she cheerfully pulls a step ladder out of her magic pockets, sets it on the floor near the tree, and climbs up. She grabs Narya in one arm, and then untangles her apron string from the wiring with her free hand. Once the little hobbit is freed Wonks climbs back down the step-stool and puts Narya on the ground.*

HEY!! Good to see you! *she grins* Still getting yourself into your Hobbity scrapes again, I see. *Winking Wonks tosses back the deep crimson hood of her cloak and, green eyes flashing with merriment, glances at the bar with a devilish grin.*

So, what would it take for a thirsty elf to get a drink here? *Pulling a few coins from her magic pocket she walks over to the bar, and orders a pint of ale*

[Narya]

*as she was carried carefully back to the ground,the small hobbit cried curses at the others who were busy decorating the tree and who did not even notice her dangling like an ornament*

"Thank you Wonks! Don't think anybody would notice, thought I'd be staying my entire night on top of that tree. Good thing you came along. What's that? You thirsty? Well, there are two ways to satisfy that - you can join the BEER-DRINKING CONTEST, already have two contestants for that, then the TAP-TAP game later on."

[Kellivara]

no thank you Omni, I don't think I'll be helping with the tree.

*sits quietly at a table near the center of the room, looking bored and somewhat annoyed*

Momments later Elbereth returns to the bar.

"Hey everyone, I have created a special gift for all of you to put atop that great tree you have decorated."

She could see that her friend Narya looked annoyed at the mention of the tree, but Elbereth continued on with a shy smile on her face.

"Behold! A star from the heavens to top our beautiful tree." and in Elbereth's hand was the most brilliant and beautiful star, filling the room with luminescent light.

"Merry Christmas everyone!"

*suddenly the fire produces a large quantity of dark grey smoke, which then coalesces into the shape of a man dressed in grey and light blue, with grey eyes and hair* after giving the fist-palm show of respect to the dragon at the door, kellivara, wonko and elbereth, he walks over to the hobbit, and says* did you order a large quantity of alcohol? if so, then this is the right place. i have your order waiting outside, but there was a slight obsticle blocking the door way. my name is korhall wolfblade, but you can call me kor. i offer my services as bartender, chef or bouncer if this establishment has need of me. also i have heard news of a drinking contest... i happen to make a few drinks so i think i can hold my own. sign me up if you will.

[Narya]

*the little hobbit looked around and was disheartened to see few customers coming and joining the Beer-drinking contest. She used to get so many when she started the pie-eating contest that she thought to herself, could it be they don't like my beer? So she tasted the beer that was being delivered to her from Bree and it was ok, not as good as 1420, but ok.*

*took a sip of the beer* Hmmm.... your right, Narya,not as good as 1420, but we can live withg it! :)

then i take it m'lady would like to receive my beer untill a steady supply of 1420 can be located...?

*Nudges Naryaand smiles!* Go on...

"Well ok...I s'pose we can use this for the contest and all. Not all that potent. I am serving the best wine later for after-serves." Then Narya scuttles over to Aragorn21 and asks, "Well, you will be the judge of this contest along with Elbereth. Are you ready?"

*Wants to join the Beer drinking contest*

But you know, Narya...that Tap-Tap game is hard enough in person...I STILL don't get it....doing it online is just WAAY confusing.

Just don't try to get Snaga to help you cheat. He's the only one I know who understands the game...but last time I asked him to tell me what to do, he messed me up on purpose. :D

"As for the beer drinking contest, the rules are as follows, each of the contestants should be in the room (forum) at the same time, and should drink (Post) one mug of beer at a time (ex. 1st post - Wonko downs one mug of beer, 2nd post - Wonko downs another mug of beer, and so on and so forth) The person who has downed (posted) the most number of beer of course wins the game. To determine if you are doing it correctly, the judges should watch you closely (monitor who has been posting, the poster whose post falls on the next thread page, like if the contest starts on page 3, the winner will be the first post on page 4, get it?) then will announce who is the winner!"

*looks around for questions* "Right! Alright then, who were the contestants other than Wonko???"

But Narya, a note on the contest. Some people have their page view settings set up differently.
I think the forum default is 15 views per page, I have mine set at 30 so that I don't have to reload as often.

What if we set a time period? Rather than have everyone online at once, we can just say that the one with the most drinks in 24 hours wins?

*shrugs* Just a suggestion.


As for Snaga, he's that troublesome orc that used to spend a lot of time around here reading trashy poetry and causing a ruckus...and you totally remember him. ;) He hasn't been around in a while though. *shakes head* That orc spends more and more time in his torture chamber interogating prisoners lately. I swear he has no time for me!

*The elf throws her hands in the air in a gesture of mock frustration and then falls to her knees banging her fists on the floor.*


WHY OH WHY, GODS?! WHYYYYYYYY?! *she pretends to tear at her hair and then falls into a heap, suddenly silent. Some elf-boy comes up and nudges her with her toe, but she remains in a mute heap. He reaches down to take her pulse and nearly jumps out of his girly boots when she springs up, smiling wildly.*

*Slightly confused at Narya's comment, she resolves to get to the bottom of things, and then turns to whisper to Kor*

"Blerbyblah sshwisshy schwan blahblah blah", the words sound only as indecipherable whispers to those surrouding her, but she hands Kor the pouch, and he apparently understands.

Elbereth takes a seat at the judges table and pours herself a glass of water as she awaits the beginning of the contest. She then scans the contestants with scrutiny. This should prove to be an interesting contest to say the least.

*korhall nods and takes the pouch from wonko, he then walks over to the fire and takes out a handful of what looks like fine blue sand... he then howls something and tosses the handful of sand into the fire, which roars up and fills the air with a beautiful, non-coughing kind of silver mist. he then smiles to himself and returns the bag to wonko* is that all you needed my lady?

Cheating? Nah...I'm guessing this is one thing that Wonks doesn't need to cheat at. My guess is that she's messing with certain people's heads. :D

"Nim!!! What a lovely surprise!!! And you are right! So right you are, Wonko does NOT need to cheat, she can drink herself to the lands of Aman if she wants to! (no pun intended :D Well, the rules are basically the same, it will end on the 13th my time, today is just the 12th here so the contest shall end officially tomorrow!) So, all contestants ready??? Wonks grins, and pockets the pouch, then goes over to Narya and smiles, "You're a hobbit. Hobbits are SHORT." Then she goes over to Elbereth and smiles, "Manwe is bossy!", then she goes to Goldie, "We drink too much!"
Finally turning to Kor she grins, "I'm a trouble-maker."

Elbereth rushes into the Weeping Willow waving a tally sheet wildly in the air.

Elbereth then hands Nim a blue ribbon and a golden drinking mug for her accomplishment.

Holding up her mug Elbereth announces to the crowd

All players are on the left side of each other:

SO in effect, Korhal is on the left side of Goldie, and Nim left side of Kor, and Elenath left side of Nim, and Ireth left side of Elenath. So to the right of Goldie is Elenath and so on and so forth.

Players may tap players on their left or right side.

Example:

As the patrons began their talk of the Tap Tap game Narya came out from the kitchen with a enormous platter of steaming baby back ribs. Elbereth laughed out loud when she saw the comical scene of a small hobbit wobbling about with a platter that looked to be twice her size. Then suddenly the tray lunged forward as the poor hobbit lost her balance. Elbereth leaped from her chair and dove for the platter catching it in mid air before it hit the floor.

"Phew! That was a close one!" Elbereth said with a laugh.

Then placing the platter on a large table in the center of the room, Elbereth was the first to help herself to the succulent, juicy ribs.

"Yum!" :D

Ireth rushed forward to the platter hunger churning in her stomack.
"These look delicious! I really like barbecue meat, but I must ask from what animal are these ribs?"

Well actually it's not that you drink 2 drinks, but every drink you get deducts 10 points instead of the normal 5 from your sobriety point.

You just missed the beer-drinking contest as well as the Tap-Tap game, but it is still ongoing. Hope you enjoy you ale, and here are some roasted peanuts to go with that.

As for being devious, Elenath is right. I'm terribly evil, which is why you and *ahem* Elenath need to watch your backs. Once Kor and Goldie drink themselves under the table, you both will have very little protection. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :D

GOldie finishes the song and belches loudly. "I like that ending." she said, smiling daftly. Kor, keen on his plot to take her down, shoves a cup in her hand. Neither of them realize that this is the self same tankard that goldie had thrown at kor, come back to haunt them both. it is empty, and goldie attepts to drink it. Confused, she shakes the tankard. then she grins. "I missed. i spilt it. hehe. all over me!" when she realizes she is dry. she throws the cup at kor's head again and stands up slowly and shakily. and grabs for the table. she misses and tumbles to the floor. Dramatic music plays as she drags herself back up to the table and grabs the handle of her tankard. She finishes it without taking a breath, gulp after slow gulp. suspense builds as she yells (unable to control the level of her voice)
"POINTS ZERO DRINKS ONE TAPS.....HIM!" goldie at this point falls to the floor dizzy and slaps kor accross the face. "YOUR TURn...." she murmurs as she slowly crawls under the counter to the pail that has been set there. she blushes and turns her back to the crowd, vomiting overly loudly and vocally. Smiling dumbly she leans against the counter and wipes her face, forcing her eyes to stay open as she watches kor take his last round....

Then walks over to the table, taking hold of Kor's shoulders and making him sit up straight in his chair, then tipping his chair back, dragging it over to the other couch (which is far easier than carrying people) then picks him up too, setting him on the adjascent (sp?) couch, then set the chair back at the table and looks to Narya again.* "If we run out of couches, I've got two wall-length ones at my pub we could use."

Elbereth finishes off her glass of wine and drifts off to sleep regardless of the excitement of the Tap Tap Game. The fire is crackling as it eminates a soft glow that warms her as she wraps her gloak about herself and cozily snuggles into the plush warm arm chair.

Hearing the unbearably loud giggling...Elbereth awoke from her midafternoon nap and looked in the direction of the noise. Squinting at the blurry group of drunken people Elbereth mumbled something incoherant and then flopped back into the chair and drifted back to sleep.

Ireth is so sunken in her own thoughts that she can't see the commotion around her. She sees another drink appear before her and grabs it. "Good feed here" she thoughts to herself...and again sees the ring looking at the bottom of the glass...seeing it she turns to Elenath and starts slapping her shoulder in anguish..."I lost it, I lost it, I can't never find it again!!! It was...was..so shiny!!" And then she takes the drink and buries her face in her hands....then suddenly she realizes all the people around her, lifts her head and shakes it a bit and tries to act normal again. "No, I'm not drunk" she thought to herself.
Looking around she notices Elbereth sleeping in a near by chair.

Ireth looks with sudden anger at the fellow some tables away. Hhey!!! You!! She yells. Some heads are turned. Then suddenly she springs up with some speed and goes a little way towards the table. She stops in front of the table where some hobbits and a man are peacefully chatting and having their pints. "Hhey!!" She says to the man with the pointy hat. "Your hath is phointing ath mee! It disthurbs meh, stoph phointing it athe mee!"
The man looks up surprised and as well as everyone else at the table.
"Oh, I can take this hat off if it disturbs you, my lady. And he smiles friendly with an understanding expression on his face. His companions do the same.
Suddenly Ireth realizes in spite of her drunken stupor that this perhaps wasn't the wisest thing she ever did and decides to go back to her table.
"Oh..I ghess...you..chan leave your hhat on..." she says hastily and hears when someone crushes down to the floor at some far corner of the bar..
She manages to get to back to her table without stumbling down herself and sit down. "Oh hde**k, lhet's ghet sume mhoore tho dhrink!" She says with some determination and yet a thought comes to her mind...was it the Ring she saw hanging in a golden chain in that one hobbit's neck???

Ireth tries to join Elenath's song with her low voice her head hanging over the table quite heavy. Her gaze wandering over the room which seems to have started spinning faster..thinking to herself while singing...naa, there was no ring! I didn't see anything...it is lost! As a foreigner she doesn't quite catch all the words and makes some of them up for though they don't probably mean anything...suddenly she stops and starts singing: "phiippholan vhaarilla oolii taalo, hiiala-hii-aalaa heyy!!!" (the old MacDonald had a farm, hiiala hiia la hey)
Then she suddenly stops and her head feels so heavy and she places it on the table between her hands.

Ireth finally wakes up, looks around and then swiftly runs to the loo.

Elbereth then jolted awake by the cold cubit of ice water, hit the lever of the fire hose to full throttle and sent a powerful surge of rushing water hurtling at Nimawae's Hope....sending her careening across the room.

Luckily a window was open too....or else she would have hit the wall and done some serious damage. Instead, the water shot her through the window...out of the Inn and into the nearby creek. When everyone rushed out to see if she was ok....Nimawae was knee deep in the muddy waters, soaking wet, bright red with embarassment and anger, with a bright green frog resting on her head.

*slightly shocked, but calmly examining her surroundings* That mud will take a while to get off. Oh, well. Now would probably be a good time to release that tank of ice water. *pushes a button, and a giant container of ice water that was perched over Elbereth suddenly breaks open. Elbereth gasps as the water pours over her and the couch she is on* Awake now? Oh yes. One more thing. *carefully places her frog on Elbereth's head* Now the scene is quite picturesque. Quick someone get a camera!

Elenath, always ready for such situations with her handy Elvish Polariod Camera, snaps a pic of Elbereth.

Watches in great fear as the pointy ears played with water and ice inside her precious new pub. "Darn this elvish racket!"

Tries to stop each one, the valar and the elf, but she was too small to do much of anything. She decideds to hide herself under the bar in one of the cupboards. "ooooh! If only chrysy were here to plunge these people in the lake..."

[Elbereth]

Removing the frog from her head...she taped it gently away and then addresses the hobbit good naturedly. "No need for that little friend. Let me call on some help from a friend of mine."

Elbereth then whispered a prayer to Ulmo and after a momment of silence, the excess water began to gather in droplets, and then into a thin flowing stream that drained out of the Inn, down the path, through a patch of trees and into the lake nearby.

When that was done...Elbereth went to the bar and ordered a round of drinks for everyone in the room.
