Hello! I'm new. Obviously.

I found this about two years ago, but I was too wimpy to actually join.

I tend to obsess over Lord of the Rings, and I will very likely realize after seeing Return of the King that I have nothing left to live for. Then I will spontaneously combust.

My friend has joined too, as Eowymp. She's not especially cool, but the world needs to learn to deal with her at some point, I guess.

Anyway, have a nice day, and whatnot.

Welcome, Samfool.

Here's something to live for after December 17th....

The books! Totally excellent, and only the tip of the Middle-Earth iceberg. There's a whole Elvish history out there waiting to be discovered (and Mannish and Dwarvish) and don't forget 'The Hobbit! -read it now before the PJ prequel.

Welcome!Eledhwen was very correct in directing you to the books. But here's my advice:see the movie and afterwads read the books. You might not like the movie so much afterwards. I started reading Tolkien after the first film but now I'm a Tolkien maniac and the films are not so special as they used to be.

Oh, I've read the books, and I love them much more than I love the movie, especially with the way the movie had to play up Arwen's character so much and completely forgot to include any of the good qualities of Faramir's character.

But still, with the spontaneous combustion thing. It could happen.

Yeah, I completely agree with you. Faramir was the worstly portaid chracter in my opinion, And he's one of me favourite characters in the book.
