Hey everyone

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum (obviously) and I'm addicted to Lord of the Rings. I haven't read the books in about two years, and I love the movies. I tried reading the Silmarillion. I'm afraid that I didn't get very far into it. I probably don't know as much as many of you do. So if I say something that sounds incredibly stupid just point it out :) . I hope to learn more about some of Tolkien's work. I'm really looking forward to getting involved with this forum.

The Sil is a hard boo to read, but give it a while a retry it and it should be fine, also you have to read ALL of it, like the synopsis and stuff for it to make sense...
Hehe, if you go back a year from now and read over old posts, your'll be hitting yourself at the sort of stuff you were saying! :D I do it all the time!! :D

I tried reading the Silmarillion. I'm afraid that I didn't get very far into it. Yes, I know the feeling. The first time I read it the beginning two chapters 'Ainulindalë' and 'Valaquenta') put me off. Try starting with the Quenta Silmarillion and stick with it for it gets good. Then later go back and read the 'Ainulindalë' and 'Valaquenta'. It really helped me get by the biblish way it starts.

Hehehe, yeah, I thought that might be the case. I consider Úlairi to be a lucky username too. I saw Morgoth today as well. We should make a thread on it. Actually, I will! Btw, welcome Galadriel.
