Mae govannen all!

I shall start my time here by telling you all a little about myself.

I am a nineteen year old guy growing up in the Suburbia of Denver, CO. Through many ill events I have had to return to the home my parents and work as much as I can. To do this I have found a job at Gunther Toody's, a fifties style diner, and have been there for many a month. I have been labled a geek by many, but have learned to take pride in this, for I have a need for more knowledge at all times and actually take the time to find the answers. On top of that I have been Role-Playing at a site online for close to eight years now, and have learned much from the times I have there.

I first became interested in LotR, and Tolkien's other works, in sixth grade after having read The Hobbit. I will admit that I have only read The Hobbit once but have gone through the LotR many times. Beyond that whole series I have read Unfinished Tales and am in the middle of The Silmarillion. As well I am the un-official editor for a book that my friend is writing as a part of Arda's history, and am in the preperation process of writing my own book in the style that Tolkien used so effectivly, though with more action.

I have been a Ringer for sometime now, but seemingly feel as a Vala within those halls, for I answer all their questions and such. However I hope to learn much from the minds here.

Mae govannen, Isthir! Welcome to TTF! I hope you enjoy your time with us here, it's great fun. :D

You seem to be quite eager for knowledge about Tolkien. Might I suggest, then, looking around in the Guild of Tolkienology or the Guild of Scholars? You may find it to be truly enthralling. Feel free, of course, to explore elsewhere on the site. There are many wonderful things happening. Also, if you enjoy role-playing, you can visit our sister site, www.middleearthrpg.com.

Let me know if you have any questions or need anything.

I thank you greatly for the Welcome, and I have already sought membership with GoS and am learning the workings of TTF very easily. However I cannot figure out how to make an avatar appear by name, for the button does not click off and enable avatars. Perhaps some help there?

Ah yes, the Avatar. Unless I am very much mistaken, you need a minimum no. of 100 posts to get one...or at least I think it was 100...*scratches head and grimaces in hard concentration*....err...anyone shed some light on this?...

Anyway, many many welcomes! May you find your time here at TTF both pleasing and enlightening! I'd take Beth's advice though and promptly visit our RPG site if you're big on the 'pleasure' part;)

Yes, you must have a minimum post count of 100 posts before the avatar capapbility is enabled for you. An incentive, I suppose, to post well and frequently.

You've been in at least three discussions with me today and, though I didn't agree with all your posts, they were well thought out and well written.

Look forward to your continuing contribution here.

Thank you indeed Grond. I must express that your posts indeed have pushed me further, and I have only replied to one as of yet. Therefore I thank you greatly for helping me advance myself in the knowledge.

Isthir, you could do no better for enhancing your knowledge by engaging the old hammer of the underworld. Then again, you could engage me, but that would mean moving you to another level:)

Hello Grond, old friend;)
