I have been going back through the threads started here and I just realised how interest dies within ideas. I was just wondering if there is an explaination for this? I just got done reading the annoited LotR idea and find it very intriging, but the last post was made around 10/2003. Is there a reason for the inactivity of that post, others, and the guild as a whole?

People are dragged away from the forum by real life commitments, or they simply lose interest. I was part of this guild too but quit because I didn't see much point to the concept of guilds, other than providing teams for inter-guild debates, and perhaps working on some unique project not found elsewhere in the forum. Posting 'ordinary' threads, akin to those in the book sections proved to be rather futile, as they didn't get much response (even when they were extremely interesting and well reasearched ideas), except for maybe a guild member or two. So basically it was kind of like going in circles - not very productive.
