Oh, I was going to ask you. When you put in Dark Lord of the Forum under your name, did forum get blanked out? It did on mine when I tried that, but not when I put board instead of forum in.

I'm hopefully going to The Mythopoetic Society's annual conference next year. They're actually holding it in my state, and they do a whole bunch of stuff on Tolkien. My friend Turumarth went to it this year in Berkley California, and said it was really great.

MP Society isn't just Tolkien stuff, they do a lot of things on works like Shakepeare and movies and such. I haven't heard of an all Tolkien one either. Maybe after the movies come out they will start some, who knows?

I hope they won't come from the movies. Knowing conventions, it would all be about merchandise and more commercialization, rather than anything to do with Tolkien's work.

Thanks ever so much, ya'll. I went to see "Harry Potter" yesterday for my birthday. Boy, what a movie. Excellent acting, soundtrack, casting, superb effects, followed the book very closely, which I liked. The soundtrack, of course, was by the greatest movie composer of all time, the man himself, John Williams. I need to ask for that soundtrack for Christmas. :D Just thought you'd all like to know. And that was only the first half of my party. The second half comes next Monday, when my friend comes out from the People's Republic of Kalifornia and we can hang on the web all night. :cool: Maybe go see a movie or something, too. One thing I was pissed off about was that they didn't show an Episode II trailer in front of Potter the way they said they would. I guess I'll just have to see the ones in front of Monsters and LotR. Oh, well. Thanks again for all the well-wishes.
