What edition to purchase?

Hello all,

My first post! I've been reading some of the posts here and have been quite impressed with the quality of these boards.

I read The Hobbit and LOTR years ago and the recent movie has peaked my interest to read them again and other Tolkien material.

I would like to know if it is worth the extra money to purchase the following editions. For instance, do they have nice illustrations or fold out maps, etc?

- The Hobbit Collectors Edition, (Green Box)

- LOTR Collectors Edition (Red Box) OR...
- LOTR Hardcover Box Set (either original cover or movie cover)

- The Silmarillon Hardcover Red Jacket, I think this one has some illustrations.

- Any other cool editions worth considering?

Well, I don't have any of those editions but I do have the paperback boxed set, which I think is pretty nice considering that its only like $20.00--suits me at least :D Hmmm.....that edition of the Silmarillion has pictures? Does anyone know anything about that one??
