Foreword
According to the Lecture-presenting schedule here I am submitting to you my lecture.
It took me a whole month of a careful research work and I hope you’ll like it.
As I feared right from the beginning (knowing myself), it resulted in a long piece. But don’t worry! It’s easy to read and I hope you’ll find it interesting.
I have mainly used the Silmarillion as a basis, although I have researched some other sources.
I have provided not only a historical view but quotes as well, as I thought that my words would be much weaker than the way J.R.R.Tolkien himself had said it!
When it was all completed and finished, I realized that I would need a most appropriate form of arranging and presenting the whole piece, so I used the excellent opportunities of the Tolkien Wiki knowledge-base for a better presentation.
Therefore, what you will read is there – carefully arranged and systematized.
It will also give you the excellent opportunity to link to many other pages, containing relevant information.
Here it is:
"FIRST AGE - DEFINITION, CHARACTERISTICS, MARKING EVENTS, IMPORTANCE" (http://www.tolkienwiki.org/wiki.cgi?FirstAge)
Brief Description
I. Definition, Characteristics, Marking Events, Importance
1. Timeline & Key Events of the FirstAge
2. Middle-earth at the Time of the Return of the Noldor
3. Of the Return of the Noldor and the Rising of the Moon and the Sun
4. Noldorian Kingdoms
II. The Coming of Men
1. The awakening of Men
2. The coming of Men into Beleriand and their participation in the wars of the other races against the common Enemy.
III. The Wars of the FirstAge
These are large chapters. To read them, go to their specific and particularly made pages. Just follow the links from the Main Page of the Lecture in Wiki
1. Wars of Beleriand
2. War of Wrath
IV. End of the FirstAge. Conclusions
Finally, I would like to say that my work is open to criticism and comments on your part. I might have forgotten something. But you can understand that I, in fact,
had to retell the major part of the Silmarillion!
OK!
ENJOY!
