I was just wondering if anyone else's read any C.S. Lewis. I know that he and Tolkien were friends and contemporaries, but how did they influence each other? Any insight to that would be great. :)

Hey, I once read that C.S. Lewis gave a copy of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe to J.R.R. Tolkien before it was published, and Tolkien didn't like it. C.S. Lewis then was so crestfallen he almost didn't have it published.

Well, that is about it, hope it helps.

I think in Stuff and Bother there is one thread about C.S. Lewis but I don't remember where exactly. Put on the Search Engine C.S. Lewis for saving time. ;)

Actually, at the bottom of this page there are links to related subjects on the matter. Quite informative, have fun.

CS Lewis was Tolkien's insperation for Treebeard! :D
