Triandra Ravenstar walked through the woods in South Beleriand, stopping briefly to take a rest. She leaned on her staff, brushing a golden strand of hair off of her face. She then sat down.

How she came to be in the very south of Beleriand was very blurry, even though it has been five years since she came down the dry river out of Gondolin. How she survived in the wilderness for so long was by the grace of the Green-elves of Ossiriand, who aided her.

Now long she had thought of returning to Gondolin, to face her past and to move on. She remained deep in thought, thinking about the way. Having faced the wilds of Beleriand, she thought herself ready for whatever came her way. She picked up her pack, and headed north. Home to Gondolin.

It was a beautiful day in Gondolin. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, birds were singing and the white city shone in its full glory – so bright that it hurt your eyes to look directly at it. Elves were walking around, smiles on their faces and peace in their hearts. For who could be sad on such a beautiful day? The glory of the world – better enjoy while it lasts.

Helegring sat at the window looking out. But he saw neither the fountains sparkling in the sunshine nor the children laughing and playing, he heard not the song of the birds nor the music of water. His thoughts were dark – and they have been so for some time already.

Justice must rule. Always.

She had slipped away from him. She had escaped and fled from the city before he could stop her. She was cunning and smart, and dangerous. She could cause a lot of harm, they should go and find her before it’s too late. And then she will pay for what she has done.

She travelled days on end, with only a little rest in between. She then found herself drawing nigh to the borders of Doriath. She would stop in there, but she was in a hurry to get home. She passed by its borders, around the west end.

But she wasn't so easy to find. They had searched her, but somehow she had always managed to get away. Was it just blind luck or ...

Helegring didn't want to believe that someone from Gondolin had warned her, that someone from inside was helping her. The distances outside city walls were vast and she could have been anywhere. Maybe she was dead already, though he didn’t believe it. He would have known it, felt it somehow. He didn’t want her dead, he wanted her brought back to the city and punished the right way. And he shall not rest until it is done so.
