One night when I was looking at the Poems and Songs section in the Lotr appendices I came up with the idea of the Lord of the Rings Creed. It is a short piece of writing which tells the entire story (going through the entire triology) of the Lord of the Rings. Anyone here is welcome to create their own. It can be in the style of a poem, it can rhyme, there are absolutely no boundaries. There is only one rule though, you can only use words, lines, or phrases from poems, songs, or important sayings from the three books. (Your allowed to add non-important words such as a, the, though, etc. if necessary) For an example here is my own:
One Ring to rule them all,
Though all that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost.
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them,
In the land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.
The cold hard lands,
The rocks and stones,
Are like old bones.
Near is the hour when the Lost should come forth
Where now are the Dunedain, Elessar, Elessar?
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning?
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
Mourn not over much! Mighty was the fallen, meet was his ending.
War now calls us!
Sing now, ye people of Tower of Anor, for the Realm of Sauron is ended for ever.
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.
Long live the Halflings!
