Is anybody going to this very interesting event? Here (http://www.tolkiensociety.org/2005/about.html) is its homepage.

It sounds great, but I won't be going because its a bit of a pricey and long trip for someone entering freshman year of college. :D

Dang. If only the thing was way later in the year, when I might have money. I would definitely stir those people up. *sigh* Maybe get in a few intelligent debates, maybe open a few people's eyes. I'll take donations.

I would love to but I can't. I'm on the other side of the pond.

My friend attends that university. But apart from the fact that I'm allergic to conventions, I shall be in America at the time

How great to be able to do that! Unfortunately, no one has stepped forward to take care of my wife's and my expenses. :p

I'll take it as those were all 'no's. Humm. I too, will have to say no. No money, no transortation, no passport, no trip. Crud.

Because of the recent terror threat in Birmingham, and because the event would be a bit expensive (at least for me), I do not think that I will go.

Anybody else?

A report (http://books.guardian.co.uk/news/articles/0,6109,1548256,00.html) from the ongoing event.

Reports and lecture material etc. from attending TTF members would be very much appreciated.

Awww Inder, why don't you just "poke your head" into one of the sessions, just to see what it's like? You'll probably have better command of Tolkien's writings than most of the people there so you sure won't have trouble keeping up with any of the discussions.

Go for it! Especially since you're so close to it.
