View Full Version : Well, I'm back

I wonder if anyone remembers me? I'm still alive, if anyone was wondering--I haven't been here in a really long time, between being really busy in college and then spending this fall semester in London. It made my fall re-read of LotR different--I noticed very different things, and I started it after my pilgrimage to Oxford, which unfortunately only lasted for half a day (we were on our ten day tour--I meant to go back on my own, but never had an opportunity). Pictures of The Eagle and Child and Tolkien's gravesite are in my Facebook album http://hsutx.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2001433&l=9b138&id=152601670

I also met Neil Gaiman http://www.storecomput.co.uk/readerville/charis_ng.shtml who is an incredibly cool guy, and I stood a few feet away from Ian McKellan, who is not as tall as he looks.

Now I'm back in Texas, kicking my heels until the Spring semester starts and I can give myself a heart attack stressing over my classes, GPA, and costume designs for Little Women

Aw, thanks! It's nice to be remembered, especially so positively ;) With the new organization I wasn't sure where to put this--I guess it really should have gone in the Ivy Bush or The Forsaken Inn....

I hope that Frank is hidden in some remote, deserted place in the U.K. ?
Please.....;)

I remember you! Weren't you the one who described herself as a "military brat" or something along those lines, alluding to never being in one place long?

Thanks for sharing those photo albums with us, and welcome home! :)

Well yes of course, I remember you...didn't you have a boyfriend named Frank?

Yes, I think I remember ..... this Frank seemed to have scared the bejeezus out of Arvedui back then :D

Welcome back, Rhi ;)

Aw, Arvy-darling, I was amusing myself my searching the forum last night and found the entire conversation surrounding Frank's birth *sniffle* I almost teared up!

But Frank is alive and well, and he missed you! :D *whap*

That would be me  My dad actually retired from the Air Force right before I left for London, so it looks like our nomadic lifestyle is at an end...

Ah, it's good to be back!

Rhi!!! I've missed you!!! Then again, I haven't been around here as much as I used to be either.. I've also been crazily busy at college. It looks like you had a great time in London. (awesome pictures!) I'm also really excited about relaxing over break, now that final exams are over at last. Hope to see you around! :)

Niri! *hug* how are you? College does suck away the free time, doesn't it? I'll probably vanish again as soon as the spring semester starts--I'm costume designer for one of the spring shows, and APO pledging will be going on (though this time I get to make the little pledges do things for me, bwahahaha!), and I have a handful of challenging classes to deal with. But for now, at least, I'm poking my nose into things here :D

Ah, baragund, I miss MERPG--I'm glad to see that it's archived now, so I can save the threads I participated in. There was some quality storytelling there! I would try and resucitate some of them, if I didn't know that I'd have to give it up again as soon as classes start...*sigh*

I'm a little scared of this 'Project Evil' .....

I remember than I've read your posts some time ago.

Welcome back to TheTolkienForum.com :)

Speaking of PE...
And remember, you're welcome in Project Evil (http://www.projectevil.com/index.php), too. ;)I tried joining the Project Evil but Webmaster has last visited PE 4 days ago and my account is still inactive. If you don't know I'm known as Björn (because Mike is not Beorn and I like this character). I decided to join when I saw the new fora :p

You shouldn't need WM's permission. You will have been sent and email containing a link that you need to click on to activate your account. If that doesn't work then PM WM - Inder had some problems with his account being activated a few days ago.

I think that it is problem with the usergroups. Now I'm a member of a usergroup '(COPPA) Users Awaiting Moderation – if you have enabled moderation of new registrations, any users who have yet to be approved will go here. Additionally, if you are using the COPPA system, all COPPA members will go here before being approved.' I found that in... the net :D He must appove any user, me in that case. When he visit the site and log in to the Admin Control Panel he'll activate my account. I will send him e-mail.

Hey! I remember you! :p

London was amazing. I loved it--I'm plotting to go back for grad school, somehow. I may need to sell some internal organs on the black market but hey, that's life. :D

Still working on the novel. I wrote the second draft and sent it to my publisher friend; she liked it and gave me lots of good advice on what to do with the third draft. My notes are in boxes or I would be working on that now--I'll probably write the third draft this summer, and then send it to her again. If she likes it enough she'll give it to her senior editor, but if she doesn't think it'll work for their company she might tell me who else to send it to.

Thats cool, if it ever gets on sale i will buy a copy!

and then i can say i read ths before it was published.
:)

>_> iam actually looking at going on exchange to london myself but there is a lot of stuff taht keeps getting in the way.. like my overprotectoive parents, forcing me to turn down every possible oppurtunity,
but i will be done high school a semester early, so i have that entire semester to do whatever i want.

yay!

Sorry, I'm a little confused--who are you asking about what, please? I was assuming you were asking Saucy, but I didn't want to ignore you on the off-chance that you were talking to me, or someone else, for that matter.:)
