(Anyone is welcome here, but before you add to this post please make a profile "Evil Stirs Again In Middle Earth Profiles" in the Council of the Wise. Thanks, Elvess Leawyn Greenleaf!)
"I should have quickened my pace a while ago!" said Leawyn to herself as she entered the beautiful city of Rivendell. She walked into a large, circular room that was open to nature that was more beautiful than she had ever seen in all her Elven years. She found a seat and sat down. She noticed that that many Men, Elves, Hobbits, Dwarves, and Wizards are were seated before Elrond at his council.
"It had been while since I have called a council of such significance," said Elrond. "Not since Sauron's threat to overtake Middle Earth has such an evil come unto these lands. We were fortunate enough to know of Sauron's plan to find the One Ring and we successfully destroyed it. But with this evil, we do not know what its plans are, what it looks like, or even if it has a human form. We call upon the elves, dwarves, wizards, men, and now hobbits," Elrond says as he looks over to Frodo," as well as any other free people of Middle Earth to defend all that is good. Those who are with us from the Fellowship of The Ring have already vowed to lead this quest, but they cannot do it alone. We need almost all of you to help, but there are probably few of you who are brave enough to do so, " He pauses for a moment, with a look of concern on his face, "I will give you all a few moments to think out your decision." Leawyn had already made her
decision by the time Elrond finished speaking. She must fight for all that is good in Middle Earth. Even though it is a very tough question to answer, she knew.
Elrond had just walked out of the room to let the members of the council make their coice. Even though she had made up her mind she thought if that was really a wise decision. She thought about the past, how close Sauron had come to gaining compleat control over Middle Earth. But she also thought if she didn't help, this undefined evil could threaten all that is good and right in Middle Earth. She relize she must help. Then Elrond rentered the room.
"All of you who have already cowered down and decided not to help the fate of Middle Earth, please leave now, for I don't have the heart to speak nor see you." Elrond ordered. When the last word departed from his lips, not a soul moved. You were surprised, yet pleased to see that everyone was willing to help.
"I had no doubt that many of you would help, but this many is beyond belief. Certainly this is a miracle." Elrond continued, "We have little or worthless knowledge of what excatly this undefined evil is hoping to achieve. It will take more than brute strength, fighting skills, and clever maneuvering with a sword, bow, and an axe to win against this evil creature, although these will help. The only thing we can use now is our minds. We must figure out more before we make our first attack. All of you will travel in groups, you will go to distant lands to uncover more information. And from there, we will get back in touch when we think we've all had enough information revealed to us. Then our strategy for attack will commence. Form groups of nine now. Only one group already has been decided, the Fellowship of The Ring will travel together, as they once did many years ago. Boromir is no longer with us, so one of you will travel in his place. May his legacy help you travel faster and stronger. Also, I advise you all to bring weapons with you, for we do not know where this evil creature and his followers lurk."
Leawyn thought about what she wanted to do, she liked Legolas, so if she took Boromir's place in the fellowship would her affection get in the way? She thought hard. What should she do? She decides to to take Boromir's place, because she wants to get better aquainted with Legolas. She knew she could never fully take Boromir's place, but she was quite willing to try!
As the groups of different races hustle about to gather their belongings, Leawyn noticed that the fellowship is almost finished packing their belongings. She was already finished though. So she tried to see if anyone needed help. Sam did! It seemed that he had over packed! When Leawyn finished she went over to help the other Hobbits. When she was finished with Frodo's pack, she looked up and to her suprise there Legolas was standing. The sun was on his golden hair and his skin was gleaming. For a moment she was breathless.
A few moments later Gandalf entered the room, "Where does everyone wish to go? My advice is to leave for Edoras."

Standing alone but not wholly unnoticed at the back stood a strange elf clad in stained, yet fair, garments of green and brown hue. This was Rinion, an elf of many years, from Teleri origin. Since the destruction of Beleriand, he had never truly settled anywhere, yet his Silvan friends, his clan, remained yet in the Wood of Greenleaves. It was upon their behalf, and for his love of middle-earth (not to mention his respect for the Elves of Imladris) that he had made his way to the council. Rinion had been friends with Tharanduil for many, many years and there was also some love shared between himself and Legolas, Tharanduil's son, although they were very different and had an unsure (yet strong) friendship. Weary at last worth middle-earth from many years of hardship, Rinion had hoped to take the ship at last into the west, with Legolas and some of his kinsman, there to meet at last with his sundered parents. However, he had felt danger in the world again and a darkness spreading, unseen and was compelled to help save middle-earth and its peoples once again from evil.
At the council, Rinion heard many news and information that had been unknown to him, yet what troubled him most was how little idea anyone had really had. No description of the enemy, no location, no real plan. He was one torn both ways by his mind: to delay in order to find out more of this new enemy so a proper plan could be formed, or to get to work immediately, in order to end his long labours the sooner.
At the will of Elrond, they were to divide into groups of nine, moving in different directions to help flush out the source of the evil. Rinion leant against a wall, head bowed and covered in a hood, a keen glance keep awatch of all that happened. So it was that when most of the groups had been formed, still Rinion was on the outside. Elrond turned to him:
"Nae saian luume'. Mae govannen!" he spoke in his melodic, flowing voice, a soft smile gently appearing. "To those of you who know not the identity of this hooded one, he is Rinion Isilme, an elf of many ages" said Elrond to the large crowd, "master of combat and of mind. This will be his last task ere he sets sail into the West, never to return. Any group, if indeed there is one worthy, would be all the better with his deep wisdom and subtle thought".
Rinion showed no signs that he had heard a word Elrond had said, though those who looked hard and perceived well, noted a glow of warmth spread throughout the mysterious figure's half-hidden face. There was a short silence, before a gap appeared through the crowd of many different faces and forward stepped a tall figure with golden hair and a face which showed both youth and ancient wisdom. The elf-lord Glorfindel was he, and he offered his hand to the isolated Nandor.
"Mae govannen, elf of the moonlight" spoke Glorfindel. "It would be an honour indeed if you would accept joining my band of adventurers. Eight are we, yet with thee, we should be complete". At this, Rinion felt inside great admiration and thankfulness, and he took Glorfindel's hand and they shook.
"Well-met indeed, o elf of woe!" jested Lindir, who was to be going along with Rionion's group. "Never again did I think we would meet in this middle-earth. It warms my heart to see you again, mellonamin".
Such endearment unexpected greatly touched the elf, and for a moment he felt the weight of the world lifted from his shoulders and a fresh-scented breeze pass through his hair. He turned his gaze upon the Mountains, tall and beautiful, and an image passed through his mind, of a grey ship sailing down into the Bay of Belfalas and onto the great sea, having helped in saved middle-earth for the final time, leaving the world for the West, the land of his peoples, with no regrets to trouble his mind.
Two more elves, two men and two dwarves walked up alongside Glorfindel and Lindir and bowed to Rinion, and announcing themselves to him.
Rinion then knelt and lay his scimitar at their feet. "Amin khiluva lle a' gurtha ar' thar. I will follow you to death and beyond, allies and friends."

"Moria?" Gandlaf asked, "Do you all really wish to venture there once more?"
"It wasn't safe all those years ago, and it probly still isn't," replied Merry.
"Yeah! So we shouldn't go there again!" Pippin chimes in/
"Oh, yes Pippin, don't think I'll forget you, Fool of a Took, you blew our cover last time," said Gandalf looking over at Pippin. "Do not think I forgot you young Perigrin Took!"
"If we don' tgo to Moria another group will be forst to venter there. And almost all of us know what like danger is like there," added Aragorn.
"Aragorn is right. We are the only group who will be ready for the peril that could still be lurking in Moria. It wouldn't be right to force that upon another group," Legolas adds."I don't want to go there again. Remember we had to let Bill go that last visit there!" Sam said with a sad look upon his face.
"While I understand how everyone else feels, do not forget we have a new member here," Frodo said turning to Leawyn. "You do have a say in all of this, you know!" She tremmbled a little under the pressure that Frodo had just place upon her. What should I say, she thought to herself. She started to mutter a few words, "Well I agree that anoter group shouldn't have to go there, but...I...um..." she trailed off, unsure what to say, but Gandalf saves you. "We will go to the mines of Moria. You do all know I do not wish to venture there again, but I do fear that the other groups would be in more danger than all of us. So lets head off."
The fellowship paired up to ride on horses. Merry and Pippin chose to ride together, Argorn and Gimli also chose to ride together. And of course Sam and Frodo would go together and Gandalf alone on Shadowfax. Leawyn thought to herself, Then who am I riding with? Oh, no! She walked over to the horse Legolas was sitting on. He reached down to asist her. Once she was seated, you hear Gandalf shout some words to Shadowfax to lead the way. The wind was blowing back twords Leawyn, and as she was riding, she hear Gandalf shout back to Pippin, "Oh and one thing Perigrin Took, do not touch a thing!!!" Leawyn smiled at what he had just said. She noticed that Legoals was also chuckling at the comments made by Gandalf. He slightly turned his head and in the wind she heard him wisper, "Don't be afraid to hold a little tighter I don't bite." He smiled back at her and she tightened her grip around his waist.

(Previously back at the Council of Elrond)
Once everyone had gotten up, NR went and spoke with Elrond. Elrond was the only one who truly knew what NR was.
"Master Noldor, it is good to see you again," said Elrond.
"Likewise, Lord Elrond. I am assuming you wish me to take my old role? I am ready."
Elrond paused, "no. I have sent my sons and a few others to do that. What I need from you is to find out exactly how strong our enemy is. I would trust no-one else with this job."
"Very well, but that could be quite difficult. I can't infiltrate, disguise or parley."
"I know," Elrond said. "But I do have an idea of what you can do. Find his weakness, report back to me, and you can use it to defeat him."
NR thought for a moment. "We don't know where this evil is coming from though. And it is possible they are constantly on the move, in order to have more protection. Luckily for us, the list is short where the stronghold is. Harad, ruins of Mordor, underground, Moria and it is one of our allies wanting domination."
"Master Noldor, we still need a course of action to take. I suggest you try Moria, as many orcs still live there. However, this may possibly be the most dangerous task you have ever had to do, and you may not live. However I think you will have a major part in this before the end, and if at any point you feel your life may be in danger, get out and return here."
"Yes my lord. I shall do as you bid." With that, NR left and vanished from Rivendell.

NR made his way towards Moria, although another group was going there. He did not stop for rest, except to have a small bite of lembas and a sip of water. He knew the land well, as he had lived in the region of Hollin for many years. He decided not to use one of the main doors, and to be as quick as possible. Steadily climbing the mountain, NR entered through one of the few windows. Immediately he could sense danger, but pressed on despite Elrond's wishes. He rounded the corner, and could see shapes in the distance. There were orcs, Uruk-hai, a dragon, men, and two other unidentifiable shapes. NR crept a bit closer, and listened hard. A conversation was taking place between the two strange beings. What he heard was:
"But Pallando. Olorin is still out there, Radagast as well."
"Radagast may be persuaded to join us, if we present ourselves to him. With the 3 of us, not even Gandalf and Elrond could stop us. What do you think of that, my brother?"
"We shall have to strike quickly, and soon, before they discover who we are. They will waste no time."
"Alatar, my brother, we should attack Lindor first. Then no help can come from there, and Cirdan will be helpless."
"Yes, you are right. We can march in 3 days."
As quietly as he had entered, NR escaped from Moria and ran as fast as he could possibly go. After a day's journey, he had found the group heading for Moria.
"Turn back everyone. We must get to Rivendell tomorrow. There is need of an urgent council. I know what the evil is, and we can stop them if we prepare now. Turn back and deaths can be prevented," NR warned.
"If what you say is true, we will ride now, and not stop," Gandalf said. "We won't speak now, and you shall ride with me."
Together the group rode back to Rivendell.

For the second time, a Council was taking place in Rivendell. Not as many were there, however there was still a large number. Present was Elrond, NR, The Fellowship and Elvess, most of the Rivendell elves and those who were yet to set out on their journeys. NR was describing what he had heard in Moria.
"My fellow elves, men, hobbits, dwarves and esteemed wizard. I have uncovered our foe, and some of his plans. There is no point beating around the proverbial huorn, I am going to openly say it: it is the 2 blue wizards. Alongside Pallando and Alatar there is a dragon, a small band of Uruk-hai, a large army of orcs, and men. Altogether some ten thousands, I should think.
"I manged to discover what they are planning to do, and we must prepare now. They wish to persuade Radagast to join with them. We must reach him first. Gandalf do you know where he is?"
Gandalf thought for a moment. "I know he was planning to go to Lindor, but that was after he finished his studies in Mirkwood. Chances are he's still there."
"Good. Now, the wizards are also planning to attack Lindor. They figure that if it falls, they can advance through the Shire, and stop all help coming from that direction. However, if we send all of our soldiers, Rivendell and all lands east will be unprotected. Then again, we cannot afford to lose the Grey Havens. Yet the other lands are as equally important. However, what could have driven the Wizards to this. When I knew them they were good people. Any insight Gandalf?"
Once again, Gandalf sat thinking, before saying, "Perhaps they have simply gone mad. Yet that is unlikely. Their minds being controlled by a more powerful being? Possible. But who, and how? How strong are they? I think if we foil this attack, we will discover who it is behind this plot. Perhaps it is the Wizards. But I do not think they will chance being defeated in this attack. They will send the majority of their strength. The question is, how much can we do to stop it? Pull the elves out of the Grey Havens? It won't stop their plans. Both sides will be just as strong, yet they will have the positional strongpoint.
Elrond stood up at this point. "We must also think of the dwarves in the Blue Mountains. If we lose, they will soon fall. Then the evil will spread like a plague. Land by land they will fall. So now, what must we do?"
Aragorn spoke up this time, "We cannot let them have Radagast. That is obvious. At the same time, we need to win at Lindor. To maximise our chance, I think we should send as large an army as we can spare. We have a day to muster our forces, and we should send them to Lindor. All companies planning to set out must now go to fend off this attack. The fastest riders we have must go to out allies and ask for any aid that can be lent. So Gandalf, you are the fastest. You must go to Radagast, and ask him to join us. On the way, ask the Beornings for help. Then, while in Mirkwood, ask Thranduil for any help he can give.
"Next, the Dunedain must be sent for. The majority of them are here, others are spread between here, Bree and the Shire. However many we can get, we need. 2 riders will be sent to look for them. Next, elves from Rivendell must be sen immediately. Elrond, that includes you. We cannot afford a loss.
"Once we reach Lindor, further plans can be put to work. Now, our main task is to get to Lindor with as many people as possible. Fully armed of course. Now Gandalf, you should leave now. Glorfindel and Alqodier, ride out and look for the Dunedain. Those who can leave now, such as Master Noldor and my company, shall do so, with provisions not only for the journey, but for preparation in case of a siege. I think that is all we need do for now."
With that, everyone left to do their various tasks.

It was a few days later, and most groups had arrived at Lindor. Dwarves from the Blue Mountains were due to arrive any hour from now on, Radagast had been found and was now present. Almost all of the Dunedain were there, as well as a company of 500 elves from Mirkwood and another 1000 from Rivendell. Altogether there was 4000 elves, 1200 men, 4 hobbits, 1700 dwarves, 2 wizards and one Tom Bombadil. It had been decided that he should be asked, and he had agreed. Altogether this was not a bad accomplishment, except for the fact that they were outnumbered. Scouts had been bringing reports back for a day now, and the enemy numbers were as follows: 20, 000 orcs, 200 Uruk-hai, 1 dragon and 2 wizards. In charge of the defense were Aragorn, Cirdan, Elrond, Gandalf, NR and Gimli. They had decided to send some of their numbers into the hills in the hope they could surround the enemy. Yet, they would be going very wide, in order to escape the dragon's sight. So the main host was weaker than it could have been. Small ships had been sent along the coast to Gondor, in order to warn them of events. Yet the boats would not arrive for a few days. There was little that could be done, except wait...
