Several things are required: a name, age, what job/s you can do (ie. building, supplies, military, medical person etc.) and other relevant details. You must have a profile for each character.
Name: Greolman
Age: 26
Job: Building/Architecture, Scribe/Book-keeper.
Other: Has no wife or children, hopes to have a position of power in the new town. Overall sees this a chance for a new start at life.

Come on people we need some more of you or we will have to have more then one character.

Well, what's wrong with using more than one character? I love to do that. The only problem that I run into while doing that is finding out that people assume that they have the same personality or the same motivations just because I am playing all of them. oh well. I already told the Noldor_returned person that I would join this story. I am just looking for a good opening for me to toss one of my characters in. sorry that you can't find more people. Maybe if you make things look a bit more open, rather than just writing that elections are taking place in one part of Rohan? There are plenty of people with plenty of characters, but most have no motivation to get elected or have no means to know that elections are taking place. *hides*

Name: Frynyir (Female)
Age: 33
Skills/Job: A farmer/gatherer.
Other: Lives in the Westfold, near Lingar. The two are talking about becoming betrothed soon. However, Lingar's father does not think a farmer's daughter a suitable wife for his son. Can't write, and could only run a farm.

Hoping to start a new life with his father, moving down to the River Angren seems a good idea. Most notably, Ocato has skills as a woodworker, locksmith and smithy/jeweller.

Okay, this is going to be a semi-discussion thread. We need 4 people- a building advisor, military advisor, supplies advisor and town advisor. So far, going for these jobs we have:
Building advisor: Greolman
Military advisor: Lingar
Supply advisor: Frynyir
Town advisor: None
So far, the only people running are mine. Can someone else please go for town advisor, or another position? If you think you've nominated yourself, you haven't unless you talk to the king. Otherwise, how are we to know whether they wish to go or not?
Majimaune
04-21-2006, 05:56 AM
New thing NR
Town Advisor: Mappalif
And if you read all of the ooc thig that I put when I posted yesterday Majimaune is the Chief Guard or whatever you want to call it. He is not however Millitary Advisor but has some power in the military.
Noldor_returned
04-21-2006, 06:04 AM
OOC: Well then that's all the positions taken, unless someone else feels like making a character run for it. If they don't, we won't have the vote, and the king will just say due to the lack of nominees, you are not required to vote etc. Once we arrive back to Edoras after seeing the Gondorians then we will discuss what events will happen in the story in this thread.

I don't know why very many of my characters would want a stable position of responsibility among a bunch of Rohan type humans, which was my main reason for not even trying. One or more of my characters will probably meet up with your group on their way to Gondor, in Gondor, or on the way back. You already wrote that you had no preference as to which of my characters I should use. I'll toss a bunch of names in a hat and figure out a way to work them into the story.
Noldor_returned

That's cool. Also, while I remember it, they will have to transport building materials to this new town, so why dont some break off from the cart and float away down the Isen? Logs or something. Maybe food? That would give a problem early on. It isn't much yet, but I'll remember it for later.
YayGollum
04-21-2006, 09:24 AM
Sure, that could happen, even though I would wonder why a wagon with unsecure supplies would have been rolling so close to a river that stuff could fall into it. But then, even though it could set back the building process, how cool of a plot twist is that? I would, of course, suggest something along the lines of ---> Someone hears of the building project, pretends to wish to be helpful, but is only hanging around to get his hands on Saruman's notes, once Orthanc is unlocked. I would think that as soon as the Gondorians took the place over, they would secure such potentially dangerous reading materials, but who knows? That Saruman dude had some evil mind-altering powerses. He could have had a few brainwashed minions who passed a few secrets about the place on to their children.
Noldor_returned
04-22-2006, 03:26 AM
Yeah, but what's the likelihood of that? Saruman was proud, and wished to rule by himself. Who would he have told? It's a good idea, but surely King Elessar would have searched the place and taken anything dangerous. Yet maybe someone wants the tower for themselves, and tries to take it from whoever is in control of it by force.
YayGollum
04-22-2006, 05:35 AM
Sure, I have no problem with admitting that the likelihood of my proposed plot twist isn't very high. Why not? It could be fun, though. Sure, I would agree that the Saruman character had plenty of justifiable pride for being so cool and probably would have preferred to rule alone, if at all, but I see no reason for why he would mind telling a few random brainwashed types where he hid a few superly secret things of his, just in case. He could brainwash people very well, so I doubt that he would have worried about getting overthrown by one of them. Also, sure, I would agree that any Gondorian types who took the place over probably would have ransacked the place very thoroughly, but I see no reason for why we couldn't jump on the chance that the Saruman dude could have been intelligent enough to make a few things very hard to get a hold of. Anyways, your newest idea sounds like it could be good, too, except for the same reason why Saruman and Grima couldn't stay there for all time. They had to eat.

Ok I've got another couple of profiles to make but one wont be in the story long but the other will.

Elvess_Leawyn
05-13-2006, 11:17 PM
Name: Juniela
Race/Gender: Human Female of Gondor

Majimaune
05-14-2006, 10:35 AM
Hey Elvess.
Um just a question. Are you Gondorian or from Rohan?
Hey NR you can go ahead with most of the conversation but dont speak of the Easterling just yet. Save that for later. Maybe we could do that after we've discused it a bit ourselves.
Elvess_Leawyn
05-14-2006, 07:12 PM
Don't know yet, I finish reading the story on the forum so that I can see what's going on! What do you think I should be Gondorian or Rohirrim?
Majimaune
05-15-2006, 08:03 AM
Well I think that it would be good to have at least one Gondorian in the mix but if you dont want to be Gondorian then I'll make another character who is Gondorian.
Yaygollom are you going to come into the story soon?
Elvess_Leawyn
05-15-2006, 09:04 PM

Yeah, my character can be Gondorian. And I'm going to post on it as soon as I read up to where it is now.
YayGollum
05-16-2006, 08:43 AM
Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. I asked for preferences for which of my characters I should play, but I didn't get any, so here is what I chose --->
Name: Blossomshade
Race/Sex: Ent/Female
Appearance: magnolia type of tree looking Ent lady, creepy and superly deep green eyes. What else can you say? I wouldn't know how tall the lady is. You know what an Ent looks like, I hope. Nine toes and fingers, as far as I know.
Weapons: just her arms and legs, I guess. I'd be afraid. Hm. Maybe she can hold a couple of huge claymores achingly easily? Nah. Too scary.
Personality: very unique and proud of it, anti-social unless it's with someone she thinks is interesting, has a morbid sense of humor, as in, she enjoys munching on birds that perch on her and planting weeds next to flowers that Entwives plant, things like that, enjoys torturing Tilit, who thinks that she is some sort of spirit of nature
History: born in Fangorn as one of the later Entings, she thought of having to leave with the Entwives as a punishment since Fangorn was nice and dark and comfy, when they finally nodded off, she headed back and ran into Tilit, who saw as an especially closed-minded sort who needed to be taught a few truths
__________________________________________________ ____________
Name: Tilit
Race/Sex: Beorning/Male
Appearance: Pretty much the same thing as most images of Beorn that pop into my head, really big and scary looking, brown hair and eyes, muscly and hairy, turns into a huge brown bear, holds one of those small and round and wooden shields with the big spike in the middle, wears a troll's skin for armour, can't look too smart, either
Weapons: claymore, giant crossbow, teeth and claws
Personality: Achingly loyal and boring and proud and stubborn and one track minded, I hate him, he recently found out that he was an Outcast, doesn't really like it, but now feels that it is his duty to point out how everyone is an Outcast, too
History: Stuck to the Vale of Anduin for most of his life, sometimes left to battle Orcs, ruled the Vale but left it to the humans when he met Blossomshade, who forced him to take a journey that showed him that he was an Outcast, met Dimgi along the way
__________________________________________________ _____________
Name: Dimgi
Race/Sex: Hobgoblin/Male
Appearance: About as tall as the average human, brown skin, can get really creepy looking when he's mad, but is usually so empty headed looking that he seems harmless, he wears lots of light and leather armour
Personality: Not too smart, even for a hobgoblin, sticks with Tilit since he thinks he's a really smart troll, full of hope for the future of hobgoblins even though his group of them was all killed off, he is especially proud to carry their banner which has a crow's foot as its symbol
Weapons: just his banner which is a pretty big iron pole, he also has some bolas tied to it that he'd use to catch people for others to kill
History: Born in some northern part of some Dwarfless part of some mountains that I probably don't know the name of, lived with a very close-knit group of hobgoblins that barely managed to survive, he wasn't too old or experienced at anything yet when they all decided to head down the Misty Mountains to try finding some Orcs or trolls to help them out, the group was killed by Woodmen, and he was captured to be interrogated, Tilit saved him only because Blossomshade made him do it, Tilit was wearing his troll skin at the time, which fooled this guy into thinking that he was some kind of weird troll
__________________________________________________ _____________
This group will pop up, at some point, unless there is some large reason for why I shouldn't use it.

Um lets try to get on with the story then shall we.

Ah no I dont like to be adventurous with characters but stick to the good old man. I know all the abilities of one you see cause I am one (I think).
YayGollum
05-18-2006, 12:26 AM
I understand that sort of viewpoint, but am also a bit frustrated by it. Sure, I guess that using a human is good, for your first try at role sort of playing in some crazily fantastic world, but why stick with only that when there are so many more interesting possibilities? Sure, you may not understand everything about some fantastic sort of race, but that shouldn't stop you from experimenting. What is the point of even playing in a fantastic sort of setting if you're only going to do things that happen in the real world? Anyways, I hope that you people weren't wishing for my three characters to be the three that your characters are looking for. I figured that they would meet you at some point while you are out on the road. Besides, weren't you looking for three Gondorians to represent their country? You've got this Elvess_Leawyn person's character and, I guess, two more unnamed people.
Noldor_returned
05-18-2006, 07:47 AM
Yeah, I was thinking whether or not to create someone or leave it for now. However, I myself have made a female, which could prove to be a challenge, but could also be just the same. There is a problem about who the other two will be. One or two new people would be very welcome, but then again we could be waiting for ages for that to happen, so if we give it three days, and then the next two Gondorians can be created???
Noldor_returned
05-18-2006, 08:10 AM
I have a new character. I just couldn't help myself.
Name: Elding, nephew of King Eltaraion
Race/Sex: Male Gondorian
Weapons: Himself, sword and staff.
Personality: Wants more power than he already has, and thinks of the Rohirrim as peasants and scum. Basically, trusted by the king of Gondor, but will get in the way of the four quite a bit. Sort of evil, just like all kings' nephews. Also has a vested interest in Isengard/Orthanc because he wants to look for hidden magical items.
________________________________
Well that gives us a problem later on. This Elding guy is going to stir things up when they reach Orthanc, and possibly find something. Not sure what he will find, but it means trouble.
Majimaune
05-18-2006, 08:18 AM
Hey why dont we PM a couple of people to see if we can get some more then after the three days if no one comes I'll make another person and NR if you want to as well.
Majimaune
05-21-2006, 08:59 AM
OK I'm going to make a Gondorian.
Name:Olktian
Race: Gondorian Male from Pelargir
Weapons: Bow and Arrows, a long knife.
Personality: Kind, always puts others infrount of himself. Oposite to Elding.
Noldor_returned
05-23-2006, 08:08 AM
I was just reading Appendix A, and found that Aragorn's son was Eltarion. The king of Gondor in Town on the Isen is not the same one, but Eltaraion, son of Eltrin, son Eltarion, son of Elessar. That sort of gives a time frame.
On another matter, Majimaune and I were discussing this a few days ago, and came up with the idea that Elding, who is going to Rohan, wants to go searching through Orthanc for anything that Saruman might have left behind. Then, he gains the trust of the Easterlings and attacks Dernhelm (new town) with their army. The Easterlings are defeated and Elding is imprisoned. That is just one possible problem.

Yes to all that you said in the RPG thread and you have already told me that but I guess it would be good there so Leawyn can see it and then so can Yay.
The sooner we leave the sooner we will meet Yay's strange group of people. It will be goos to have otheres in this thing other then us.
And then there's that Sanahyando (or something like that) guy that has posted once. If we could get him back then that would be good.
The more people the better.
Oh and one last thing... Anyone can do the two Easterlings. I dont care. And I realise if they are going to be a reasonable large part then they better have profiles. Could you just reply with how big their parts are going to be. Then I'll make them each a profile.
Majimaune
07-03-2006, 08:17 AM
Um NR I'm just waiting on you to say "Make some profiles for those two Easterlings..." Once you give me that then they will come into the stroy more. Can we leave in the next day or two cause I really want a forth person in the story and the sooner we leave the soon Yaygollum can bring in his characters.
Nice to hear from you again Elvess.

You don't need me to say that. If you think you do, go ahead. If not, then it's fine. I trust your judgement. That goes for everyone else, as well.

It's nice to be posting again. I forgot how much fun RPGing was! =)

Yes but I don't trust my own judgement. I will post the character profiles soon. I'll put some good thought into them so that they can be whatever they are needed for.

07-07-2006, 03:36 AM
Evil Elding.
Heres one of the two Easterlings profiles. Anyone can post with them and take control of them. I dont care.
Name: Hred.
Race: Easterling male.
Apperance: He carries a curved sword and long thin knife. He has dark skin and looks like he never sleeps but his eyelids hang over his eyes so it looks like he is half asleep. Long ragged hair and tattoes all over his body.
Personality: Cruel and always tries to boss the others around. Thinks he is greater then every one.
