Middle earth for dummies. Has anyone read it? is it reliable to Tolkiens work? Or is it Made up in some points like other books not writen by the Tolkien family?

I just read it a month ago, and can I tell, it's a good read for any devoted Tolkien fan. It contains detailed descriptions about events of Arda, from the years of the stars to the 4th age and beyond. Also, a lot of the book is devoted to discussing the origin and evolution of the races of the Tolkien universe, from "Those homespun hobbits" to "those willy wizards".
Besides races and events, the book gives information on different issues that were displayed in Tolkien's works, or you could say themes that were displayed in Tolkiens works, from his viewpoints on warfare to this part of the book that talks all about The mistakes of having knowledge without wisdom and such.
Many other things are described in this book that I think you'll find interesting. Overall, I would reccomend this to any hardcore Tolkien fan.

Hmm, I thought the "For Dummmies" series was for n00bs... Anyway, i have read "Tolkien and his world" (Толкин и его мир - http://media.rodina.by/books/source/1673/cover-big.jpg, its BG translation) and it is not a bad encyclopedia. I recomend it.
P.s. - Found it! http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0764541862.01.THUMBZZZ.jpg:) (http://images.amazon.com/images/P/0764541862.01.THUMBZZZ.jpg)
