View Full Version : Supposed Leak

So guess what everyone! I got an email the other day from a friend saying that a friend of hers had somehow found a leaked .pdf file of the final book. I read the first 2 pages and the last, it was some pretty god-awful writing. Ok well maybe it wasn't the worst stuff ever, but it certainly wasn't Rowling's writing style. At first, however, I thought that it must be somewhat legit because it was a 659 page file. But then I looked up how many pages the U.S. edition of the final book is supposed to be (750 or something like that), and realized that it had to be fake. This means, though, that someone somewhere sat down and wrote 659 pages of **** just to leak it on the internet and get people excited. I'm not sure where someone who isn't getting paid to write something that long finds that kind of time, but whatever helps them sleep at night. If anyone wants to read this terrible writing, send me a pm with your email and I can send it to you.

Hey, you think you could post a sample of the Book (maybe the first page, or the first paragraph if you're lazy), so that we can have an idea as to how ok this *version* is?

If .pdf files were not a royal pain in the backside and would actually allow me to highlight, copy, and paste text, I would. But to give you an idea, the first 2 pages (probably more, but I'm not sure since I didn't keep reading), focus almost entirely on Ginny. There are whole paragraphs that end up having Ginny come up in a small way at the end of them, then a double space and just the word "Ginny" as an entire sentence/paragraph. Based on this obsession with the romantic relationship that I doubt Rowling is going to make a very big deal out of (because she never has focused a ton on romantic relationships, especially not at the start of a book), I get the feeling that this was written by a teenage girl. (No offense to any teenage girls on the forum)

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer... Why would someone write 600+ pages of rubbish? For just the kind of attention you and your friend and her friend gave it.
Methinks I'll just wait until the real stuff becomes available. Rest assured you'll get no PMs from me.

Well, I read a bit of it.
Yuck.
It IS worse than Eragon.
And what the heck was up with epilogue at the end?
Who would spend their time writing 659 pages of drivel? Why? Why? WHY? When EVERYONE who would read it would know it's not the real thing.
And I don't even like Harry Potter.
Oh yea, and apparently Dumbledore comes back.

And I heard that Harry is really Dumbledore's son via an affair behind Dad's back...

Yea, I read another supposed "leak" of the 7th book, on some other forum. I can't truly gage my opinion on this version, but it fits you description quite well, Maeglin. In this 7th book, and this is really radical, but apparently Dudley (the fat spoiled brat) is, get this, a wizard.:p

LOL! This has got to be the funniest thread I've read in a long while! You guys are hilarious!

It's called FANFICTION. I actually wrote one for HP 2 years ago, killing everyone in the HP universe. When I read HBP and found out Dumbledore had died, I couldn't help thinking JK read my fanfic , although her version of his death was far gentler than mine.
When you have time in your hands and you're angry with the world, writing HP fanfic is actually a good outlet. ;)

Now you've got my curiosity. I have two things to say to you. One, how DARE you kill Dumbledore;), and second, how...did-ya-kill-him.

lol! I killed Dumbledore because he was the most logical choice. The story is using a very old plotline pattern. I will not go into details about how I killed him because I used a pseudoname in that fanfic *impish grin*, but to give you an idea let's just say, he ain't coming back from where I sent him.
I also killed Ron (in a nice, heroic fashion ), and a couple more of the Weasley's, blinded one of the twins, decapitated many of the teachers, tortured Draco out of his mind, and in the end tortured and killed Harry himself.
Fun times...

I'm staying away from anywhere on the Internet some warped Muggle might be trying to put up their pathetic spoilers until AFTER I read the ending. And that will be after having read through the whole book. That means I'll be staying away from HERE, evidently...

A warning to those who don't want to know, this link and post contain spoilers.

I agree that Dud-ley ;) might turn out to be a wizard. On this (http://www.mugglenet.com/books/futurebooks/book7/confirmed.shtml) site look at the last bullet under 'Character Information' and you'll see why. This info was apparently confirmed by the author.
Oooh! Yay! I just saw this was my #200 post! For being away for nearly two years that's pretty good. :)

Well I would never post a REAL spoiler, Barley....hence I told anyone who wanted that fake one last month to ask me via PM...

Well, I've gone partway through the book, and I have to say, it's awesome. Just to stir your curiosity, I'm gonna tell you an insignificant spoiler or two. Don't worry though, the print will be small and hard to read, for all of you who don't wanna know anything yet.;)
Potter dies.
Also, Snape was with Dumbledore from the VERY beginning.
Lupin and Tonks get hitched, than Lupin's revealed to be a death eater.
Did you miss me, or did you miss me?:D

Well now that the book's out, this thread is all moot, eh? (As for Dudley Diddikins, I thought he might come back at the end to die a hero, but alas, it wasn't to be.)
