Although I'm still new, I've been encouraged to post some art...
Well. I'll start with a pic I did a long time ago... Nienna (done with pencil, that's my favourite tool for drawing :p) and with the proper passage from the Silmarillion corresponding to her ).
Hope you like it :)

Cool picture, Amarie!
I like the darker strands of hair (if that's what they are) hanging from her face, and the tears.
P.S.: It's strength, not strenght, but don't worry, that's a frequently misspelled word. :)

It took me a few times to read the word to notice the difference... thank you Ithrynluin! :p
And here is another pic... the emblem of Luthien Tinuviel: it was of course originally drawn by Tolkien, but I've denhanced the colours a little bit (just coloured pencils :o)

That is just gorgeous, and I don't just mean the emblem itself but also the calligraphy which is very fitting indeed.
Were you aware of THIS (http://www.forodrim.org/gobennas/heraldry/heraldry.htm) site? It has loads of emblems, and actually has two different ones listed for Luthien. I'm not sure if they are completely accurate, but still, a very beautiful site to look at.
Way back when I used to have the emblem of Gil-galad as my avatar, though mine was modified so the stars sparkled. :)

That site is great, I've never even figured the hidden meaning behind the emblems until I've read it! :D

That really is very good. I love the colours.:) I never managed to make anything look good with coloured pencils. I found charcoal and pastels easier somehow.

I recently installed Paint.net, and found it quite useful to do some effects on my drawings... And the pic that really needed some good effects was this one. Sorry if it appears too bright, but that was the intention!
This is Arien, the Maia of the Sun, holding the fruit of Laurelin....;)

That fruit looks a bit like an ostrich's egg :D perhaps you could make it more ornamental; but aside from that it looks stunning. :)

*rofl* omg I laughed so much on that 'ostrich egg'...:p
The point was that I sort of wanted it to look like the Silmarils (and I've always imagined the Silmarils being oval, rather than perfectly round, that shape isn't so natural), and by that it can be possible that Feanor actually got the inspiration for the shape of the Silmarils i.e. from the fruit of Laurelin, or Telperion as you like.
I don't know how ornaments would look on the fruit, due to the fact that it's still a fruit ...

Overall its a lovely drawing! I have to admit I thought it was an egg in her hand as well, & I think her eyes could look a bit more natural and less hollow, but overall its a good rendition!
I bet you could draw a really great Galadriel! :)
