Here is one happy Elgee posting a picture of herself and her lovely new fiancee!!!

New fiancé? What happened to the last one? That desert in the back seems suggestive! :D

Seriously though, it's good news that he made it back safely, and I wish you the best of luck.

Great pic HLG. One question though...is the marine really tall, or are you really short? :p

Well, actually, he is quite tall and she's only about as tall as I am... which is why she learned rather well how to walk in high-heals. :)

Very good picture girl. And what a wonderful setting! ;) =^.^=

hmm... The hansom worrier prince and his enchanting little fay. *giggle and runs off with the idea*

I'm five foot four. Matt is six foot five. The math is quite imposing, but we manage.

Tsk, Ithy, that's a beach not a desert!

My usual limit is a glass of wine. I get giggly really fast . .. which saves me from getting too drunk because I am laughing too hard to drink, so I never get symptoms past what Matt calls the "buzzed" stage.

Actually, my previous very buzzed night as at the party where I was meeting Matt's extended family and had two glasses of wine (I say two, he says it was more like one and a quarter because both glasses were too small to count as much more than half a glass) . . . That was interesting.

Err, I don't see the link to the attached images when I am logged; when I am not logged in, I can see the link, but I can't access it. There is the workaround of saving the location of the images and accessing them after logging in, but I am sure the mods can make this less challenging :).

Okay. Even though I'm really nervous about everyone here seeing me, I've decided to post a picture anyways... (I almost always leave the redeye in my pictures, it makes me look evil, which I think is amusing. :p)

I had to get online just to double check the pictures, but Rhi, you have a double running around San Diego. A girl came into the store the other day to get a coffee and I could swear she was you. Knowing So Cal doesn't agree with my knowledge of your past locations I didn't do anything to investigate, and wasn't cashiering so I didn't really talk to her, but she could've been your twin sister.

Weird. Weird. Weird.

Ohhh thank you! :p (Embarassment). I'm not Irish, I'm actually Canadian. My red hair - which I'm assuming is why you asked ;) - comes from my European Jewish ancestry. My mother has it too, but neither of my brothers do as they inherited my father's brown hair and slightly darker complexion.

I just saw your pictures and you look stunning! Especially in that first picture. That dress is beautiful, and looks so good on you. I love the way it flows. But I mean you look like a princess or something there the way you're glowing :p

Also, great picture Meg. Takes me back to being a kid.

PS: I put up yet another picture. This is me and my older brother. He's a great guy, but he kind of stays distant now that he's married. It's a great picture of him though, because he normally doesn't smile for photos. Managed to catch him off his guard I guess. :p

The picture was taken in a club in NYC called "Tuts". As you can see the club had an Egyptian theme, complete with Belly dancers and hookahs. We puffed on a Vanilla and rum flavored hookah...it was very cool!

Ohhh hooka is the bomb. I experienced that for the first time last summer...ironically in NYC.

@Maj -

Is that your girlfriend, per chance? ;) :pShe is more of my girl. Not girlfriend yet. Neither of us can handle a relationship right now though we do want to be with each other. When we were together last night I said I was "on lay-buy" for her. I get a few people flirting with me at work so when I tell her everything that comes up and that is how I put myself. Does that make sense?

Hookah is not a NYC thing. The hookah has been around for generations, primarily in the middle east, but not exclusively. (I admit at the moment I cannot give you a better history, as I have no time to go searching the web for such a thing). I remember the hookah best from "Alice and Wonderland"...if you can recall, the catepillar was puffing from a hookah on top of the giant mushroom.

Before I knew I was having a boy I had been hoping for a daughter for the sole reason that I didn't want a son to take after the male side of my family. They are that bad! Hopefully he will have inherited his father's temperament. Otherwise I will may be completely gray by the time I'm 35!

From the time he was born everyone said he looks like his father and not me, so maybe that is a good sign.:D I did have one girl say he looks like me, but when she seen his dad she changed her mind real fast.

But now that he is here I wouldn't have him any other way, he's such a neat little guy. Now I understand why everyone makes such a big deal about babies... I never got that before.

Now I find myself noticing every baby I see in public, and kind of guessing how close they are to my son in age. And when i see a mother with a tiny newborn I think "Man I hope she has someone helping her out at home so she can sleep and take of herself too!"

The file name (made my by brother's girlfriend) has his name spelled wrong by the way. It is one L.

Military guys don't smile for cameras, at least Marines don't seem to. As Cir is in the Army, maybe he'll correct me on that branch . . . Even in my husband's off duty shots its all about the "tough" look. Bad #$# as he puts it. I should ask Matt if that is official protocol or if it's just attitude.

My brother got that way in prison. If you look at his photos from when he first got locked up he smiles and then gradually during his first few months his face gets more stern and his stance more tough-guy looking. But when we visited him he grinned and goofed off like normal, just not for pictures.

Ciryaher

Technically, you're not supposed to smile in "official" photos (which that is). I tend to have a perpetual frown as my neutral expression, even though I am a person who laughs at just about everything even remotely funny :D

Me too. And people are always asking me "whats wrong?", thinking I am angry or upset. People constantly tell me to smile more often. I just tell them that I smile as often as anyone, but my normal look isn't happy. Gets annoying.

Underneath the box where you type the text of your message are "additional options." Among these is a manage attachments button. Click on that. Ah but Maj, I do believe that in the administrative features on vB, the thumbnail feature is optional, and only became available with a recent update. Your other forum may have a) not had the updated software, or b) simply chosen to not activate that particular feature. ;)

We'd have to ask Dave.

We'd have to ask Dave.Naah, it has been on since I joined this forum and perhaps this is the best way. Noone wants large pictures, even though nowadays our connection speed is not what it used to be  The admin can chose to enable or disable it, so I guess the other forum just had this feature turned off.

More Hobbit than Elf or Man, thin Hobbit, though, but you look a little too mischievous to be an elf and a little too impish to be a man.

Anyways, *scratches nose* not many Americans seem to agree. Hm. But mayhaps I exaggerate? Ah, but my lips are huge! So nasssty and blubbery. Simply my worst feature.

Also, I expressed concern at the Firawyn person's thinness, actually. I am plenty asexual, though, so maybe I just don't know what's what.

In middle school I was told I had no idea what a handsome guy was by everyone who found out that I had a crush on the tall, skinny guy who I would marry a little under a decade later, so I rarely tell a guy he is good looking, but I can tell you, Yay, that your nose is definitely not big. Your lips it is hard to tell because of that somewhat pouty expression . . .

Is it just my computer or is that first picture of Fir and Yay a little bit blurry?

Dang. Now I am forgetting to insert wordses. I would have written, "the Firawyn person," but I can't, because the Narya lady already quoted me. oh well. Yes. Vampiric attack. Vampires are the second most scary of all scary type thingses. Zombies are first, of course. Vampires would be the most evil, though. And so sickeningly as well as senselessly popular! Makes no sense. There's a regular human, he gets infected, then gets a personality transplant. Either the old personality is discarded or blended with a demonic one, or the virus somehow messes with his brain, making him forget how awesome being a human was, making him think that being undead is somehow better. Sure, there are some perks, but it's still a fate worse than death. Um. Yes, I have pale skin. This should have been in the Real Life Rantings thread, but oh well. My face is red from it being a hot day and me moving boxes and things. I hate vampires and am sleepy.

I have heard of coffins that are spacious. Mayhaps. They are too expensive, anyways. Beds are, too. I'll stick to the floor and blankets. Anyways, I forget if, back when stories were still written when vampires slept in coffins, they for some crazy and magical reason had to sleep there, or if they were just doing it because they thought it was funny that they sort of conquered death.

Towards werethings, werebears are the best. Yay Beornings! I am not a large fan of werewolves, since I am not a large fan of any canine, but at least they are honest, unlike vampires. Werecat legends are less populous. I find it presumptuous. Cats are cats and awesome. Why combine them with boring old humans?

Also, to tie in with discussing photographs, ah, Yay for that porcupine kitten shown by the Illuin person! I'd take cats. I think that I'm allowed to, at this place. Or was that shown in another thread? oh well.

As you said, the whole trip was serene. The forests were so much different than the ones I walk here, but just as fascinating. The sun came up and landed much earlier and later, creating a 18 hour overcast. One of the few times the sun was visible I took a photo of (off the water) and its just barely peeking out of the fog & smoke wall (there were 5 forest fires along the banks of the lake but we were on an island)

Astrologers (bleh ) say we are strange, curious, inquisitive folk. Astronomers (my kin :)) say that the gravity from a planet 480 million miles away has less influence on people than a grain of sand on the beach. What say you? ;)

HLGStrider
08-18-2008, 07:32 AM
This is what I say. ..

Aquarius
There's travel in your future when your tongue freezes to the back of a
speeding bus
Fill that void in your pathetic life by playing Whack-A-Mole seventeen hours a
day

Pisces
Try to avoid any Virgos or Leos with the Ebola virus
You are the true Lord of the Dance, no matter what those idiots at work say. I'm a capricorn by the way. Haven't left the house in years .. ;)

Aries
The look on your face will be priceless when you find that forty pound
watermelon in your colon
Trade toothbrushes with an albino dwarf, then give a hickey to Meryl Streep

Taurus
You will never find true happiness - what you gonna do, cry about it?
The stars predict tomorrow you'll wake up, do a bunch of stuff, and then go
back to sleep

That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
That's your horoscope for today
That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
That's your horoscope for today

Gemini
Your birthday party will be ruined once again by your explosive flatulence
Your love life will run into trouble when your fiancé hurls a javelin through
your chest

Cancer
The position of Jupiter says you should spend the rest of the week face down in
the mud
Try not to shove a roll of duct tape up your nose while taking your driver's
test

Leo
Now is not a good time to photocopy your butt and staple it to your boss's
face, oh no
Eat a bucket of tuna-flavored pudding, then wash it down with a gallon of
strawberry Quik

Virgo
All Virgos are extremely friendly and intelligent - except for you
Expect a big surprise today when you wind up with your head impaled upon a stake

That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
That's your horoscope for today
That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
That's your horoscope for today

Now you may find it inconceivable or at the very least a bit unlikely that the
relative position of the planets and the stars could have a special deep
significance or meaning that exclusively applies to only you, but let me give
you my assurance that these forecasts and predictions are all based on solid,
scientific, documented evidence, so you would have to be some kind of moron not
to realize that every single one of them is absolutely true.

Where was I?

Libra
A big promotion is just around the corner for someone much more talented than
you
Laughter is the very best medicine, remember that when your appendix bursts

next week

Scorpio
Get ready for an unexpected trip when you fall screaming from an open window
Work a little bit harder on improving your low self-esteem, you stupid freak

Sagittarius
All your friends are laughing behind your back (kill them)
Take down all those naked pictures of Ernest Borgnine you've got hanging in
your den

Capricorn
The stars say that you're an exciting and wonderful person, but you know
they're lying
If I were you, I’d lock my doors and windows and never never never never never
leave my house again

That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
That's your horoscope for today
That's your horoscope for today-yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Firawyn, I think this says more about me than you, but we have the same haircut. My hairs brown, and curls a bit sometimes (), but otherwise...

Fashionable, low-maintaining minds think alike!

You gotta *love* the curls, not hate em :D

PS, love the earrings, Firawyn - I got some just like 'em! :P

You know, I got my hair permed once, and I was told I looked like a Hobbit. Never again. Not into curls. Not for me.

I wouldn't mind them, if they didn't seem to curl in completely different places, in completely random spots...
My fringe will often be perfectly straight, only for my crown to curl up...
I look like a cheap Russell Brand.

I always thought Ithy’s old avatar (the dude with his hair standing up) was a picture of himself. By the way Narya; I never mentioned how pretty your little one is. But as for newborn babies; they all look the same to me until they are about a year old or so.

Thanks! But don't be fooled, she no girly girl. She's the one who plays DotA online using the handle BLOODSIN. She loves gore and all kinds of icky stuff that other girls find disgusting.

She also digs girls more than boys. She's been singing the song I KISSED A GIRL, by Katy Perry a lot.

Hey Narya, looks like your kid and I would get along real well. Ha! I love that song...

*sings* "I kissed a girl and I liked it, the taste of her cherry chapstick, I kissed a girl just to try it, hope my boyfriend don't mind it, it felt so wrong, it felt so right..."

*sigh*

Yup...my theme song of the week.

Yea that's the one on myspace...not all TTFers have myspace so I put it here as well.

And thank you kindly, I like this haircut very mcuh. I shall keep it. Not to femmy, not to butch. Perfect for me.

Very nice picture Fir. You are a very pretty girl. You remind me of my sister (17 years younger than me), and she has guys banging on the door constantly. She’s a bookworm as well, and you two would be very good friends if you were acquainted. She actually walks around the house reading books (as she walks and talks), while at the same time communicating with us. There are a few pictures of her in the forum photo album. She is actually now a local DA .

Kem and her TTF shirt

5 or 6 years ago, me, Cir, Tal and a few other members who don't frequent any more made some t-shirts with tengwar on them. I think they were navy blue. I cant seem to find mine anywhere. Does anyone still have theirs?

I found mine when I was out in Arizona visiting my mum, actually. I wear it every once in a while.
