Greetings, some. Having all kinds of fun? Oh, I hope so. Anyways, here is an old idea of mine. I just now came up with the title. Entirely fake and useless points to anyone who knows where I stole the title from. This is supposed to be entirely main charactered by animals. All of those random mounts or useful little animal sidekicks get to show off their personalities way more by speaking, in this story. For the sake of simplicity, for some reason, looks like they get to understand people, just not necessarily their logic. You could play an animal captured by corsairs and about to be sold. Could be any kind of animal. You could be a random animal denizen of Umbar. You could be a stereotypical pirate type of animal companion and could mayhaps play a corsair of Umbar after the silmaril, as a minor character, of course. Plenty of possibilities. The Crebain will steal the silmaril, the balrog will be after it, maybe some corsairs, maybe other people met along the way, they'll be headed for the Vale of Anduin, oftimes thought by animals as a nice little haven. Have fun, then.

Name: Mothbol

Race/Sex: Balrog/Male

Appearance: taller than the average human but pathetic next to another balrog, no power of fire, so he's just very black and smoky, his features would merely be sunken into his head, still pretty discernable, even though it's all made of smoke, dagger-like steel claws, but that's a lot smaller than a normal balrog

Weapons: just his claws and a minor fear ability that just might make some weak-willed types a little nervous, but that's about it, he could spread smoke to blind people or run away in, or he could find some water to turn himself into slime and make people sticky (gasp!)

Personality: very weaselly and treacherous and cowardly, loves bullying and torturing those that he can, leeches off powerful types, and is very fun for me to play

History: he was an especially young and inexperienced and stupid balrog when he went with some army to fight those Gondolin type elves, he was a little too nervous and things to get too close and ended up getting left behind, he had all kinds of fun with acting like a dragon and gathering all kinds of treasure to sleep on, no one really missed him, and he ended up sleeping until that part of Middle Earth sunk, he woke up after a very long while and swam his way back to a Middle Earth that confused him very much

Name: Shadowflaps

Race/Sex: Crebain/Male

Appearance: large for a raven, normal, mayhaps a bit large for a Crebain, um, black feathers, haughty look?

Personality: proud, intelligent, self-centered, vain, thinks of non-Crebain as simple idiots that should be honored by any interest he might have in them, takes his job as a spy very seriously, mostly to obtain praise, although, he does have fits of mischievousness, isn't a coward, merely knows what he can and can't handle, and usually flies away

History: born as well as raised in Mirkwood, learned plenty from elders, a bit from Radagast, but has made a name for himself among a few Crebainish hangouts because he's travelled with a crazily wandering Beorning

And I have a couple of horses, a pony, a miniature mumak, a bull, and a Warg that I might include. I shall find out what types of personalities would be required to help round out a suitably varied party.

You know I'll be around later. Now where did I put that character introduction type thingy???

Ah, there it is!!

Name: Artos Wolfhame

Race: Man, a descendant of slaves of the Witch Kingdom of Angmar,
wolf-trainer.

Description: Tall, slender, lanky black hair, dark eyes.Deceptively
strong. Wears black clothing, long black cloak.

Weapons: A pair of daggers, a sword, a wolf and his wits.

Age:30

Personality: Is highly suspicious, extremely
dangerous when angered, cares only for his wolf, despises
Elves and hates Wizards for personal reasons. Has developed a grudging respect for Serewing, whom he considers his only "friend".

**********************

Name: Serra

Race: Wolf/Warg cross

Description: Smoke-grey with yellow eyes. Very intelligent, able to "communicate" with Artos. She understands Westron perfectly.

Weapons: Fangs, claws, her master.

Personality: She has a very sarcastic sense of humour, is very realistic and acts as Artos' constant companion. He is the only human she has ever formed a bond with and has survived many adventures with him. She tolerates Serewing, but hates all water.borne vessels, as she gets violently sea-sick. This has been cause for contention between Serewing and Artos in the past.

Looks like I get to create another new animal character! This time I'm definitely going with a female creature. I miss being girly in the Rotten Riddermark thread.

I'll figure out my character later, but count me in! :D

Name: The Captain.

Race: Cat.

Occupation: Ship's cat.

Description: A rather handsome fellow, with sleek black fur, a white underbelly and white paws. Sadly he is missing an eye, which lends him something of a rascally air. He is rather large for a cat - long and lean and rather strong.

His story: A rogue and a charmer, The Captain has enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a Corsair Cat. He has worked on many a corsair galley as ship's cat, being a fine hunter of rats, mice and all the other perils that can bedevil a ship at sea. The Captain is very vain, though he lacks the arrogance of many of his feline kindred. Since he lost his eye in a barfight with another ship's cat, over the attentions of rather slinky betty-cat, he has lost some of his zest for hunting. Technically it was a fight in an alley behind a bar with a mangy stray over a few scraps - but such trivia bothers not The Captain, who spends a little too much time building up his own legend. His latest voyage has proved to be something of a disaster, falling out of favour with the crew after finding his way into the ship's stores and gorging himself on salted pork. He is now in real danger of being thrown overboard.

Weapons: Claws, teeth, and a rather charming smile. Silent assassin...:)

Is this profile okay Yay?

As a matter of course, Turgon person. No human character? Am surprised. I figured that you'd jump write in with your corsair standing on his ship, offering whatever sentiments he might have about the captain that just died, then ordering nameless lackeys to fetch him a sparkly. Or something like that.

Anyways, to the chrysophalax and Miss Insanity people, cool. Have fun.

Oh? Well I was unsure whether you wanted Serewing to be one of the Corsairs or not? Hmm... anyway I guess I could always make the Captain the ship's cat on The Wayward Lady. Serewing really needs a pet, and if he can't get a cool black parrot, then a moggy will suffice. I really would like to order some lackeys to get me a sparkly.

No, I have no large problems with random non-animal type characters. I would merely wish for everyone to remember that the animals are supposed to be the main characters. Any non-animals would have to be as minor as the animals normally are in most R. P. G. type things. They can talk and do their own things and sometimes be helpful or obstacles to the main characters. Mayhaps a few could even seem to have any kind of personality.

Now I've returned, is it alright if I jump in with a character for your RP? :D

Name: Blackwing

Race/Sex: Gyrfalcon/Male

Appearance: The largest of all falcon species. As a gyrfalcon, Blackwing boasts himself to be a descendant of the Great Eagles somewhere way-back-when and can say he's larger than the average crebain. He looks like a regular gyrfalcon, but he has black feathers, somewhat of a genetic thing. Highly unusual.

Personality: Blackwing is a shifty fellow. He's proud and loyal, if sometimes cynical and cold, but he's just a regular guy looking for his way in the world.

History: Blackwing was raised by an Ice-man of Forochel, one of the Forodwaith. For many years, he flew all over Arnor, and eventually landed on a Gondorian ship in the Grey Havens, which was altogether unusual. He was picked up by a corsair, for a hefty sum, after some trade dealings in Pelargir.

Cool. Why not? Have fun. Exactly the sort of character that I figured might show up. Anybody can start jumping into the story thread, of course. Should I have stuck an actual link to the place in here?

There ya go. And you know what? Whoops. I have complained in times past about humans not being around enough to post. Have wondered at why some can't locate time enough to post. And now I have done the same. *hides* oh well. Whoever posts next can add that some corsair is clinging to wreckage and cradling a silmaril.

Yay, am a little confused and in need of clarification. I hear that you're not wanting humans to be in the forefront of the action so much. Should I then start a dialogue between Serra and the Captain?

YayGollum

Sure, if you wish. Yes, the animals are supposed to be the main characters. Regular characters can exist, but I would want them to have about as much of a role as your usual animal does in other R. P. G. type things. Probably a bit more, though.

Hmm sounds like an interesting concept Yay. I'll think up a character. First thought is an eagle because of my love for birds. Might change though.

Cool. Although, we already gots two birds. And a cat and a horrible canine. And a giant turtle, but he'll be gone soon. A horse to come. Variety would be nice, but whatever would be the most fun for you, of course.

Well I think the birds will all differ heaps if I go ahead and do this bird character. Finding it a bit hard, tried earlier today.
