I bet most of you have heard the rumors that there will be a sequel to The Hobbit, a linking movie, taking place between the events of that story and those of LOTR. What do you all think the story lines might be if such a film is made? What characters might appear in it? How much of it will be from the LOTR appendices and how much pure invention?

I'm thinking Aragorn will be the main character, and that we might even see him meet up with Bilbo before Frodo moves to Bag End. We'll surely see places like Gondor and Rivendell, but I bet we'll also get a look at the lands of Harad, and the East. Places not seen in LOTR and probably not in The Hobbit either. That could be entertaining. Though speculation will improve after seeing The Hobbit, it is hard not to wonder.

there's loads of stuff that could be added, story of Aragorn and Arwen, Gandalf and the White Council, Aragorn's stay in Rohan and Gondor etc...
