Thorin Oakenshield-Brendan Gleeson?

I noticed a discussion on IMDB suggesting Brendan play Thorin. I thought I'd start the same topic here because he is one of my top 5 favorite actors, and the idea of him playing a Dwarf in the film is as exciting as any casting ideas I have heard recently. Anyone agree? Or if not Thorin, which dwarf? Perhaps Balin!

Haha, that is almost uncanny.

That picture is from Troy, and on the subject of that, Eric Bana who played Hector in it could play Bard. Or maybe better still, Gerard Butler from Beowulf and Grendel. (Some may know him from the more recent 300). I think he could pull off grim but good very well.

I slowly am building my dream cast! :D But Bilbo is the fellow, both him and Gandalf must be soooo carefully chosen. Wrong Bilbo, and I doubt the movie could be redeemed by any means.
