Durin's Axe

The Guide to Middle Earth mentions that this was left behind when the Dwarves abandoned Moria and that it was lost again after Balin's company was destroyed. Does anyone have any additional information on this weapon?

hmm... nice question. Did his axe have a name? it would be easier to research if it had a name...

It's probably got one of those secret Dwarf names. In LOTR it is really only mentioned as Gandalph reads the journal of Balin's company and it is a fragment so you don't really know whether they found it or not.
