What WILL BE your favorite scene?

For my first post as a member of the Tolkien Forum, I'd like to ask... When The Two Towers and The Return fo the King come out, which scenes do you think will be your favorite (assuming they are made how you think they should be)?

Forgive me if I put a scene under the wrong book (I read the two in a row and they just kind of melted together in my mind :))

The Two Towers- Shelob, and Sam's reaction to Frodo's "death" (I hope the actor playing Sam can pull it off) I cried when I read that passage of the book.
-The destruction of Orthanc- I hope they show it rather than tell the tale and that the the Ents look realistic
-Helm's Deep... (too bad for the elves part) the thing between Legolas and Gimli, counting how many orcs they've killed. I like that

Return of the King(which I haven't finished)- Definitely The battle of Pellenor Fields (spelling.. sorry) When the heads of the men killed in battle are thrown over the walls. That would be a good scene to do in slow motion (IMO) as the soldiers run away, etc.
-The Paths of the Dead... obviously has potential to be a great... spooky scene :)

Treebeard, if Special Effects pulls it off, or the Ents creating havoc, should be good, too.

The battle at Helms Deep is one of my favourite scenes with Legolas and Gimli's game, and also when Frodo and Sam meet Faramir. i don't know why, but i'd love to see how they will do the oliphant!

I'd have to say I wanna see THE SIEGE OF GONDOR and THE RIDE OF THE ROHIRIM (someone correct my spelling)

but it all honesty, I want to see the whole of the next two just the same as I want to see my favorite parts. Its really hard for me to pick my favorite parts... its like you said AMB614... It all kinda melts together in your mind :)

The Battle of Bywater! aka The Hobbit Revolt!! More so I want to see Merry and Pippen kick some Nazgul Butt. I can already picture in my mind. The movie BETTER be as good.

I love when the Morgul host sets forth with #1 riding in front. Don't they take something like an hour or more to leave Minas Morgul? And there's that tension when he senses either Frodo or the ring nearby and holds up the whole show. I hope that's done right.

I would like the Ent scenes of course with Treebeard hopefully saying 'Let's not be hasty now' a million times. There better be the part mentioned before with Gimli and Legolas counting their kills as well, that was great. I laugh aloud everytime I read that. And I hope they don't make Frodo's "death" too emotional, I hate crying at the theater... But I hope it isn't too fake like Frodo getting nipped by Shelob and Sam crying for a few seconds and Frodo suddenly getting up and dancing around... that would be dumb but I don't think PJ is that stupid to do that.
But I have to wonder, are they going to go through with the taller Merry and Pippin cuz of the Entdraughts? I mean are they going to make them actually taller in the film or are they going to cut it so that they are still hobbit-like. I sure hope they don't cut it for then it would not be the same...

I love The White Rider chapter too and can't wait to see it on film. Also Treebeard and the scenes in Ithilien (spelling? i don't have the book here right now, so can't check) with Faramir are something I'm really looking forward to.

I'm looking forward to everything, but I think my biggest favourites would be.... Gandalf as White Rider meeting up with Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli..... The Ents destroying Isengard.... The battle at Helm's Deep..... Gandalf and Pippin arriving in Minas Tirith...... Eowyn killing the Lord of the Nazgul.... Frodo and Sam fighting with Shelob..... The eages rescuing Frodo and Sam from Mt. Doom.... I hope most of those will be on the movies, and done well!! :)

I would have to say Gandalf confronting the head Nazgul at the broken gates of Miinis Tirith and the whole battle of the Pelennor Fields that follows. I still get a little misty-eyed at Theoden's fall, Eowyn confronting the Nazgul, Eomer discovering Eowyn on the field of battle, Aragorn's arrival, etc. If the movie does these scenes even half as well as they deserve to be done, they will be spectacular. I don't think the movie can ever match what I have in my head when I read them, but I will settle for half.

well, what do i want to see in the next movie? hmm... yeasterday i already finished the second book. i can tell you - i cried while reading the last pages!!! so i'd love to see how they show frodos (death) i also liked the parts with the ents and of course gollum! (when can we see the next trailer?)

Two scenes which i will be looking forward to (for a long time) will be from RoTK.
I am curious to see what the Mouth of Sauron will look like, according to PJ, and the accompanying shock of Pippin and Gandalf regarding his bundle.
I am also wondering how many dry eyes there will be in my local cinema during the Grey Havens scene.

What about the Marshes of the Dead? You're gonna see all these rotting faces glowing in the swamp. Then you're gonna look back and see Frodo falling face down and his arms sinking right in until he's face to face with an orc corpse or something. If PJ gets it right you're all gonna be puking in your pop corn!!!:D

To see the moment between Eowyn and Faramir.

And to see how Merry and Pippin kick asses at the end

Eowyn and Merry vs the Nazgul,
and I've always loved the image of Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas sitting on the grass, watching the Rohirrim ride past, the sun glinting on their helmets, and then when Aragorn stands up and says something, they start circling around and around until they are facing in, ready to attack. If PJ included that scene I think it could be amazing!

Anything with Gollum in it!:D They had better not mess him up! I noticed that they didn't point out in the first movie that he was a hobbit. :confused: They had better put in the scene where Gollum looks like an old, sad hobbit and Sam wakes up and messes up everything! They have to make us all feel sorry for him!

I also think it'll be interesting to hear Sam talk about Slinker and Stinker.. or whatever it was :) and seeing him with his suspicions about Gollum.

I know I'll be shedding the most tears at one part... the end. It's such a great story, it's a shame it has to end. Do you think they'll do something telling what happens to the characters?

I think my favorite scene in TTT will be when Gandalf, Théoden, Eomer, Aagorn, Gimli & Legolas go to talk Saruman at Orthanc. Although the The Choices of Master Samwise chapter will be a close second.

Gollum running off in Shelob's lair and then Shelob emerging going together with some sweet music, it'll be brilliant!

I want to see this scene, it was such a shock to me in the book, if they leave it out, by god I'll be mad! Then I get to see Eowyn/Merry vs. Flying Nazgúl!

I want to see the Ents and "getting hasty". I have always loved Treebeard and imagined what it would be like if the big oak behind the house I grew up in "got hasty". What hidden power! Yes, I know an oak would be not be an ent, but hey, I was just a kid.

Something I'm really looking forward to is the Witch-King's army doing a spot of DIY on Gondor- yeah do they bring the right tools for the job!

Also the main bad guys such as the Mouth of Sauron, I think that scene will be a great set-piece. Forgive my ignorance (!) but isn't there a moment when someone (Theoden?) gazes into the Lord of the Nazgul's 'face'....that could be interesting....:eek:

I love the bit when Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and the men of Rohan have spent all night fighting the Isengarders at Helms Deep, and they ride to Isengard, and find Merry and Pippin sitting at the gates finishing a relaxing meal with a pipeful of leaf. Fantastic!

I'm so excited! I can't wait till the DVD's come out~ The Fellowship is supposed to have 30 minutes of extra footage!

I think the best scene(s) will be when Gollum leads Frodo and Sam to Cirith Ungol and then the battle between Shelob, Sam and Frodo. Also a good bloody battle scene will be Helms Deep with Legolas and Gimli counting the Orcs that they have killed.
