ooc:- i'm being picked on mommy!!! what's going on here?
*Lorien suddenly decides enough is enough and drops being nice. He suddenly stands up taller than before and shadowy, dark fumes surround him and raises a very respectable fearsome looking undead creature and sets it loose on whoever this person was. Then he proceeds to create a fireball and zaps the "unknown" personality with it making her unconsious. Then he ties her up and asks the rest of the crew to let him throw her overboard anyway. Lorien goes and wakes Naz up who was missing all the fun.*
Lorien suddenly asks, "Where's this damn ship going now?"
Morwen

*Morwen continues to look harshly upon this egoistic fool. "We are no mere "weak mortals", and if you wish to live, you might want to reconsider your words. And if you carry the burdens of several worlds, then why are you so concerned with such a small voyage? We seek something that not even my crew has knowledge of" she speaks, steping over to calm Lorien and Eomer. "And you will NOT attack my crew for any purpose, or you will deal with me personally, and, trust me, you would not wish that!"*

*"A challenge you will find with me, as with the members of my crew. And you will remember that I am the captian of this boat and crew" Morwen said, eyeing riverwarder. "As for poison, there may be, but it is not my will to let you know. Now, if you will not kill anyone, I must tend to some business regarding that island yonder" she finished, walking slowly to the prow.
A fog suddenly enshrouded the ship and her crew, as Morwen yelled back. "We will be transported to the island and the ship will dock in a secure place free from enemies. Once upon the island, we will set up camp and send out scouting parties to get a feel of the land, and possibly its inhabitants."
The fog departed and the crew found themsleves in a green paradise.*

OOC: I didn't think there were any new people that were supposed to join the Role Playing Games after they were firmly established.
IC: Aerin looked around at the island where the ship was now harboured. The lush greenery was eerily silent, with no birds singing in the trees. The only sound she could hear was that of the wind whistling through the trees.
Bringing Tsornin up from his stall, she ventured off the ship and onto the beach.

As the company set up camp, they felt an great presence. They looked up and beheld a figure, shrouded in living shadows, slowly coming down the bank of a long hill. It halted about 30 yards away, and a tangible darkness was exuded from the shroud. The shadows curled about the green grass, and came wisping about the feet of the company.
The figure stood in dead silence, and an ominous foreboding fell upon the crew...

The figure shifted slightly, shadows rippling from its mantle. To those with the keenest of eyes, two figures could be seen within the veil of darkness.
One of the forms within muttered inaudibly. It soon became clear that it was actually a low, soft song, and the dark mists shifted rhythmically.

"I found he neer your camp with this!" Dain pulled out the sword of a nazgul......

The shadows froze into place, and with a low note, the blackness was shattered. The shards of night fell to the ground and melted away in the light.
A figure wearing an elaborate breastplate stepped forward and bowed; along side him was a queenly woman. "Greetings, all! I have returned to continue the journey and keep an eye on my ship. The Emperess Kementari has come with me to lend her skills to the sum of the crew."

*Morwen looks happily at her crew. "I think I'll go have a little walk around the camp," she says, moving to a grove of dogwoods.
She walks further into the wall of flowers and stops when she is unable to see the camp. To her right is a black mire of swirling dog wood petals, and to her right is wall a silver trunks.
She slowly unsheaths her crystal sword and carefully rests its point on the damp earth. The debris of petals wails mournfully and takes flight. She thrust her sword into the earth and silently waits in the dimming light. How long will this take? she wonders. She leans against a trunk and shuts her eyes.*

*Morwen slumped lazily to the ground and peered out of her half closed eyes towards her buried sword. It still had not imparted a picture to her, and she was getting weaker by the minute.
The sword glowed suddenly, sending shadows leaping through the forest. Morwen slowly rose and weakly pulled her sword from the earth's grasp. She looked into its depths and a shadow fell on her heart.*

Ciryaher watched Morwen as she left, then turned back to his ship, Ëarcaraxë. He boarded to make inspect the Imperial suites, war-room, decks, storeroom, and the mysterious silver beams running parallel to the keel on the bottom of the hull.
Morwen
02-27-2002, 11:14 PM
*Morwen trudged, exhausted and slumping heavily, back towards the ready made camp. Never had she been so weak; never had she been so vulnerable.
She collapsed upon reaching the camp and crawled slowly towards the fire, stopping when she reached its warmth. She smiled weakly at the faces she saw around her, and fell into a deep, haunted, sleep.*
Ciryaher
02-28-2002, 04:21 AM
Ciryaher strokes the long silver beams and closes his eyes. After a few minutes, he returns to the deck and steps down the gangplank. He orders some troops to set up pavilions and set sentinels in shifts about the camp.
He walked over to the fire and saw Elendae sprawled out on the ground. "Ach!" he shouted, "Why has no-one helped her to better sleeping quarters?"
Ciryaher grabbed a piece of canvas and rolled Elendae onto it, then took two corners. "Let's move her into one of the pavilions towards the middle of camp," he said, and a guard took the other end. As they walked towards the cluster of tents, Ciryaher could be heard ordering some elite troops to guard Elendae's pavilion.

02-28-2002, 05:56 AM
"Ciryaher, I do not think Morwen is injured in any physical way, but instead, extremely wearied. Whatever force it is that keeps draining her has not seemed to weaken at all. I fear it may grow even stronger the closer we come to the destination. What do you think we can do for her?"
Ciryaher
02-28-2002, 06:45 AM
Ciryaher returned and sighed. "I know she is not injured, friend Aerin," he said, "I took her somewhere so that she might rest in peace and safety."
He yawned and looked up at the sky. "Perhaps we should get some sleep ourselves and wait until morning, no?"
At that, Ciryaher went to find Kementari.

Kementari looked out westward into the night sky, in silent prayer to her OverLords. When she heard Ciryaher approach she smiled and ran to him and they walked back to the camp.
"The Valar have great council, my beloved" she said looking into his keen eyes.
"They say that this quest indeed has great importance to our future and to the presevation of the past. We must seeth this task completed nor let any harm come to the crew."
Ciryaher
03-01-2002, 03:06 AM
Taking the hand of his Lady, he returned her smile. "I pray that the Valar will aid us in this mighty task, and may our hearts remain strong...my mortal heart forebodes something still..."

*The blackness moved from the pond and oozed towards a nearbye tree, and touched it ever so lightly with its black mire of hatred and evil. The tree faded and died, and rasping escaped from the blackness.
It had felt her power. She would die, and it would kill her. But it must remember to be wary of her companions, they were indeed powerful as was she.
The darkness turned north and two, cat-like eyes, and mouth of blood appeared and smiled happily. Tomorrow it would reach the camp, and tomorrow the weakened maiden would die.*
*Morwen rolled uncontrollably in her restless sleep. Her strength was severely depleted, and a keen darkness layed upon her heart.*

Aredhel, who jumped ship a while back, sang happily as she walked through the trees, but stopped when she saw Morwen.
She ran to her side, and turned her over onto her back.
"Morwen,"she says,"Morwen, can you hear me?" To Morwen, the voice sounds distant. Aredhel begins shaking her lightly.

*The winged figure glided roughly through the stormy skies, searching for the island. The green paradise, as it had been called by the dark creature, was where he was to find that blasted crew and the troublesome Elendae. He had been searching for weeks so me might have his revenge upon those who had nearly cost him much. And with his new ally he would be powerful indeed.
He smiled maliciously and banked to the right.*
*Morwen groaned heavily as she felt that familiar presence. She would not fight; could not fight. Her crew would be left to themselves, and all she could do was little.
She called to Ciryaher in a shrill voice, and a few minutes later he bounded through the door. "Yes, Elendae, what is it you wish?" he asked, softly.
"The enemy, or should I say enemies, that now approach are very powerful, and I fear that they may win the day. So, unto you I will bestow my necklace for the time being. It will heighten your powers slightly and give you insight on my condition. If you die, then the necklace will most likely be shattered, and therefore, they shall not have me and what they seek. Take care, good friend" she whispered, handing Cir her necklace.
She rolled to the side and peered out a window. She would help as much as she could*

Aerin watches as Ciryaher is given Morwen's necklace. Gently touching Ciryaher on the shoulder, Aerin tells him to stay with Morwen for a while.
Turning to go, Aerin calls the other leaders in the group to a council.
"A force, much like the one we fought before, is swiftly descending upon us. We must fight, even if that means fighting to the death. Morwen is under some sort of enchantment by this foe; so she will not be able to fight very much. We will have to defend her. Under no conditions can we let this enemy reach her. She is in a weakened state, and would not survive a battle such as that.
We must prepare for the battle!"

As the dark crystal touched Ciryaher's chest, it flickered, and a golden light shone softly from it. He looked gravely at Elendae and bowed, but when his eyes turned to Kementari, there was a deep sadness in them.
Haltingly, he spoke, "Though my mortal heart tells me the whisperings of the Fates, we shall protect you at all costs..."
He stopped for a moment and seemed to be listening. "She is disturbed. There is a darkness creeping on the land, and the sea has a shadow upon it..." Ciryaher clenched his fist, then made a circular motion as he opened his hand; those around him felt less weary and sensed a protective aura glowing softly in the air.
Ciryaher stiffened, and gave a shudder. He spoke urgently, "There is little time! The dark forms draw nigh, and we must take Elendae to the safety of Ëarcaraxë. There she will be safer than anywhere else I can think of," he crouched down and motioned to the others to help him carry the bed to the great dromund.

Ciryaher
03-02-2002, 09:43 AM
Ciryaher orders the soldiers to guard the shore after packing the camp quickly and slapdashedly onto the ship. The decks armored rails were lined with archers, and the machinations used for the hurling of missiles were readied. He went back below deck to check that Elendae was well guarded and that his shield was holding, and all was well.
As Ciryaher stepped back onto the main deck, there was a rush of air, and many bows sang. He looked up (after having instinctively dove to the deck) and saw the twisted form of some being. Evil was its presence, evil its voice. This was found when the winged humanoid uttered a contemptable wail from it's sneering lips as he (for he is was) alighted on the beach. As his feet touched the clean sand, it blackened, as if suddenly turned to obsidian.
A shadow leaped out from the foliage along the shore and seemed to consume the humanoid with wings in a tempest of darkness. The crew stood in awe as the tempest died, and the figure of a fallen elf was revealed.
"Dayown..." muttered Elendae in her daze; deep within Ëarcaraxë. She tossed in a sleepless exhaustion once more, then slipped into dark slumber.
Even as she had uttered the name, Dayown smiled wickedly, his sight of evil piercing the hull of the ship. He saw the shield around her, and knew that the crew was his current problem, so he faced it with a devious scheme. He grinned, and then called to the uneasy ship, "Morsulëion! Morsulëion, I know it is you that is there!"
Ciryaher stood as one stricken; his face pale and his stomach knotted. He saw that familiar form on the beach calling....calling for him! That name had not been used for him since his soul had first beheld that Flame Imperishable which kindled life. He had shown his heart and mind to the Master, and his name was given: Morsulëion. And now this demon within a once fair body taunted him with the name...
"Morsulëion, I see you standing there in your pathetic steel garb!" the voice of Dayown harshly brought Ciryaher's thoughts to the present, "You know you cannot save them. You cannot save Her, much less yourself. You know you were long ago damned, and we shall meet again after you are gone--and when I choose to follow you."

Aerin
03-02-2002, 09:16 PM
After watching the transformation of her enemy, Aerin's voice rings out over the sand so that all may hear.
"If you are indeed as powerful as you claim, Dayown, then why do you make heavy the hearts of your opponents? That tactic is the tactic of a coward; he cannot fight his own battles. To weaken your opposition with magic before you even begin fighting is true cowardice.
You taunt Ciryaher because you know you could not fight him on equal ground. You bring up the past to fight with the future because you are afraid of Ciryaher's present might. You are weak, Dayown, weak!
Magic you may have, but I fear you not. My sword longs to carve your flesh and leave you a quivering mass of jelly. I know that everyone assembled here has the same wish as I. Know this, Dayown, we will not stop hunting you until you are dead. We will not rest until you have drawn your last breath. Your magic tricks will not save you. You will be defeated.
You have been measured, you have been weighed, and you have been found lacking.
You have been persistent, and I know you will not leave. You have threatened and nearly killed my companions; along with myself. As payment for your cowardly deeds, I shall cut the price out of your hide.
Prepare to die, you cowardly dog."
Gonturan shines brightly in the light, and the blue pommel stone flares a brilliant blue. Tsornin rears and strikes at the air with his hooves; eager for battle. As Aerin swings Gonturan around above her head, the sword begins to sing an eerie song. The song of death.
As Gonturan continues circling, a pale, blue light begins to eminate from her pommel and grows until other people are included in the light.
Even through the blue light, Aerin's hair looks like it is made of fire. For the first time, her companions see a dull circlet on her head.
Tsornin rears again and charges ahead.
"Everyone follow me! We will find out the colour of Dayown's insides!"

*The winds hastened to the battle feild, urging a retreat inwards, and tussled Dayown's night hair. He smiled at Aerin maliciously and motioned towards the ship.
"Ask Morwen who is the coward. It is she who gave up a life of power and evil for nothing! It was she who was Melkor's favorite; it was she who had the power in her hands, but refused to give into its strength. She is the coward because she ran to you! She entered your pathetic lives, and joined hers with yours. And she will know death because of it" he rasped.
"But first I'll deal with you, and in good time she will be mine again" he spoke, pulling a wicked scimitar, black and carved with golden runes, from his belt. A shaft of darkness hurtled towards the ship and surrounded it with gloom, but a counter of lightened mist suddenly burst from Morwen's window.
Dayown smiled happily at the counter. "At least she still has a will to fight" he whispered, dangerously making his way towards Ciryaher.
"Show me your power, Mighty One" he spat.*

"Gonturan sings a song for you, Dayown, a song of death. She will not rest until she severs your flesh from your bones. Her song refuses to stop until you lie dead."
As Aerin's blade and Dayown's power collide, there is an explosion of light. The shrill cry of Gonturan seems to magnify in volume and power.
"Dayown, this is the last song you'll ever hear. This is your death song."

Ciryaher turned to Kementari and kissed her hand, then leaped over the rail--landing with a splash in the shallow water below. He waded to the shore and drew forth his bearded axe.
Dayown grinned and remained where he was; a faint, flame-like shadow engulfing him with mist. His scimitar exuded an evil aura, and it rested in his hand near his hip. As Ciryaher came within about 10 yards of Dayown, there was a clash of auras, and the darkness mingled with the light.
"Morsulëion," Dayown hissed, "We meet again. I did not recognize you at first when I beat your pathetic body down at my tower, but NOW I remember you..." He stepped forward, brought his scimitar up slowly and looked at it. "Do you remember all of us, Morsulëion? Or have you been too busy living your short and pathetic human existence? By the Dark Lord, I thought your soul would be given a worthy body of an Elda; but no. You were born unto mortals and you have diminished thusly. Now it is time for you to go to wherever it is you weaklings go; you won't escape death this time." At that, Dayown leaped forward and swung his sword against Ciryaher's shield-arm.
Ciryaher swung his shield and slapped the blade away and clove down with his axe, but only parted sand. He received a blow from behind and fell forward, but rolled out and came quickly to his feet and spun around to face Dayown.
He sneered and said vehemently, "Perhaps you are not as pathetic as I thought, Morsulëion..."

Dayown smiled and turned away from his handy work, not worried about any attacks. He strode calmly towards Naz.

Beorn
03-04-2002, 02:50 AM
For the time in which camp was being set up, Beorn had snuck off to scout out the island.
It was far from what the original view of it was. Near the center of the island was a vast grey plain of nothing, or almost nothing. There was a single, massive, tree, mishapen(sp?) into a hulk of wood. It too was grey, it had no leaves. It stood all of 20 feet tall, yet 10 feet wide. This tree, Beorn had never seen before. It had an opening, facing the South, that went down into the earth. Although light came out, he could not see in.

*Talierin too had wandered away from the camp, though not long before Beorn did. And, like him, she too had found the strange tree standing alone in the field. It puzzled her, for being the green wizard she of all people should have recognized what kind it was. But she didn't. It was unlike any other tree she had ever seen. No tree should be that particular shade of grey, even a dead tree. She examined the bark, and it too was....different. She couldn't really describe why, just that it didn't feel right. Suddenly something caught her eye. About halfway down the trunk was a flat space, about the size of a small handspan. It was odd because the rest of the bark was semi-rough, rather like a maple tree. She crouched down on one knee to examine it more closely. Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, causing her to leap up and around, drawing a dirk in one motion.
She breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh, it's only you! Sheesh, scare me half to death!" It was Beorn. "Look, come and see what I have found," She showed him the odd flat place. "Hmm..." Placing a hand on it, she mutters some words. Her hand glows softly for an instant, and she removes it. Fine lines appear on the tree trunk, and with a faint creak a triangular piece of the trunk drops down into the ground, leaving a space just large enough to enter.
"Shall we go in?"*

Ciryaher rocketed skyward and came to his senses just as he reached the apogee of his flight. He saw the figures down on the sand, and realized how high up he was. He began to fall back to the ground and closed his eyes in concentration.
With a blinding burst of light, Ciryaher's physical form vanished and an almost-tangible ball of burning sunlight fell towards the ground in his place. It leaped downward at a tremendous speed, but little accuracy. With a soft noise likened to a flame in a gust of wind, the ball hit the ground beyond the ship.
The Emperor rose and shook the sand off of himself, then trotted back towards the confrontation.

An exchange of blows with the sword follow again, the dark versus the dark. Another ball of shadow hits the ground between the two fighters throwing both Naz and Dayown to the ground. Dayown quickly recovers and is upon Naz as he tries to regain composure "Is that all you have, Lord of Shadows." Dayown lifts his sword into the air and brings it down toward Naz's head. They came speedily to Dayown's summons, and racked the poor, unprotected, ship. Lightning burst through the clouds and struck at the ship, missing, but angering the surrounding water till it boiled in hatred.
A bolt hurtled towards Dayown and split a foot above his head, showering his sides in blinding light. He smiled suddenly, and again stood strait and tall.
"I think it is time Elendae come to join us" he snickered. "I shall give her strength back to her, then take it away with her life!."
A blinding light showered the land, and a figure approached from the beach. Her mighty wings were outstreched and her face was a torrent of anger.

*Dayown rose elegantly into the sky, summoning two spires of stone on which he and Elendae would fight. He landed softly upon the spire and watched Elendae as she did the same.
" Your beauty has diminished since those days of old, and your skin as become pale and frail. You used to be the shadow of your name, Elendae. Why did you change?" he looked somberly at her.
Elendae did not reply, for she had no answer.
A smile of compassion lit his face as he remembered his days with Elendae, but it soon vanished and became hatred. He threw his scimitar to the earth and waited for her to do the same.
She looked from Dayown to her gleaming sword. I could kill him now and be done with it , she thought, but her honor, and perhaps love, forced her to discard her weapon.
"Aerin!" she shouted. "I now entrust this to you for the while! Keep it safe" she threw the sword to the earth.
Both angelic forms quivered softly in the wind, and each waited for the other to take the first strike. Elendae suddenly moved her arms in front of her palms up, and formed a ball of glowing power. Wild torrents of wind battered her and she released her power in a sudden storm of thunder and light. Dayown easily escaped the attack and countered with one of his own, sending crimson lightning towards the calm Elendae. Her hand shot up and the lightning was deflected.
Both continued the same for hours, each attacking and countering, till Dayown won the upper hand.
The necklace's cord snapped from around Ciryaher's neck and slowly levitated towards Dayown's open hand. He grasped it firmly and looked at Elendae triumphantly.....

Talierin

OOC: *blinks* Trolls, dain? Since when?
"Wait just a minute, master dwarf. We must have a light."
She took a handful of dirt, rummaged around in her pack and took out a bowl to stick it in, and breathing softly on it, caused it to light up with a soft brownish light. Beorn and Dain then drew their weapons, and Talierin notched an arrow to her bow, and took their first steps down into the dark of the tree.
First there was some stairs, about thirty of them, carved directly out of the wood of the tree. They were narrow, both in width and length. Talierin he steps suddenly ended and the tunnel, for there was little else to call it, passed through an arch of two massive roots, and widened. At first it went straight ahead for what seemed like an eternity, then all of a sudden they were facing a long and wide window looking out on the ocean. It was about ten feet above sea level. They gazed out for a minute to locate where they were. The ship was at the left end of the window, so calculating quickly, they determined that the window was facing towards the northeast.
“This window must be disguised or something for us not to have seen it from the ship. Whoever did this must be or have been a skilled craftsman. Come on though, let’s not dally,” Talierin said as she turned from the window. The tunnel took a sharp right turn to wind itself along the edge of the island in a clockwise direction. Just about every thirty paces there was either a window like the first one, but not quite as big, or a small slit to let in the light. The tunnel itself was dry, and the floor was paved with small flat stones. They passed along silently for about ten such windows, listening for anything or anyone, when they came upon a huge window, larger than any they had yet seen, at least thirty feet high and fifty feet wide, perhaps more. The sun was visible, near its noon zenith, meaning that they must be on the south side of the island. They stopped in amazement, staring at the awe-filling sight of the blue-green sea, twinkling with the light of the sun upon the waves.
“Who are you, and what are you doing here?” a voice came from behind them. They had not heard the faint sound of cloth swishing on stone coming up behind them, in their amazement. Whirling around, they found a tall man with dark hair dressed in a simple dark blue robe, and pointing a sword in their direction. Beorn and Dain moved into attack positions, wielding sword and axe, and Talierin swiftly drew her bow, an arrow already being upon it.
“I would not attempt to attack, if I were you, for you are surrounded,” the man spoke again, and they turned to see that more men, dressed in the same style of robe, only in different colors, had come down the tunnel behind them, a few swords in their hands, but more spears. “Drop your weapons, and tell me who you are!” the man commanded. They obeyed, and Talierin stepped forward.
“I am Talierin Asealúviel, the Green Lady of Ithilien, Green Wizard, and archer. I am first mate of the ship that brought us halfway here. These are but two of my companions, my lord his highness King Beorn of Gondor, and Dain Ironfoot, dwarf lord of the Iron Hills. We have sailed many long leagues from Middle-earth, our captain, the Lady Morwen, drawn on by some strange power to this island. I fear even now there may be a battle going on for her life.”
The man beckoned them to come. “We will speak more inside. I can see that you are not our enemies, for in my father’s father’s father’s time the King of Gondor was our friend, though I fear that that has been long forgotten by you and your people, lord, as you have most likely forgotten about us in the long thread of time and tales. We are the Tolnórë, the island-people.”
He turned, and led them through an archway directly opposite the window...

"This is a family airloom and about a week ago it started glowing and wouldn't let any one touch it... I had a dream that night that the one that could touch the stone and wield it was to be a champion of some sort..... But I know of not how..." He then gestured(sp) for all tree to try and touch the stone. Lord Beorn tried to the most of his might but to no avail. Next Lady Talierin tried but also could not get a firm hold on the rock.. The third person to try was Lord Dain, He also tried and struggled for what seemed an eternity, but he grasped the stone with his now bleeding hands....

03-06-2002, 04:01 AM
As the necklace leapt from Ciryaher's neck, he touched it and attached it to his mind, and then covered the mental tendrils well so that Dayown would never realize what the Emperor was doing. The battle overhead began, and Ciryaher diverted his attention to the pouch at his belt and Kementari beside him.
He rummaged through the felt bag and spoke quickly to the Emperess, "I have connected with that stone--" he pointed to the sky "--and I must do something ere it is too late."
Ciryaher pulled a strange, black stone from the pouch and held it in his hand, weighing or considering it. "'Tis a blank stone," he said softly to Kementari, "In it, powers and other things may be stored. I shall try to capture the hidden power of that necklace of Elendae's, and see if it might be put to use."
No less than a second after he spoke, he winced and touched his hand to his cheek; crimson stained his fingertips. The Emperor felt momentarily sickened, but shook his head and rolled the sphere in his hand. From the dark, moving shadows within, there were flickers of light as all the power and memory of Morwen's necklace was processed through Ciryaher's mind and 'etched' into the stone.

The stone burned, burned right through the ground. Beorn and her watched it, not daring to touch it. It was about 5 feet into the ground when suddenly it disappeared. Her hands shot in front of her, palms up, head bent slightly. The blade swung down.....all became dark.....a white light flared from Morwen's palms as she caught the mighty blade.
Both stood suspended in the light of the magic, surprise spreading over Dayown's dark face; strain covering Morwen's angelic features. She fell then, and the sword stabbed the earth to her side; Dayown bending menacingly over her.

Morwen

*Morwen stared ahead steadily, not blinking, and focused on the black shape rising before her. Her eyes flashed wildly as she witnessed Aerin enter through the black flames; a mistake that Dayown would certainly remedy.
Dayown turned round and faced her, smiling as he saw the pigment in her face darken.
"Embrace it, Elendae! Embrace your true form and be free. You were never meant to be like those who you call your friends; white-skinned with dark hair. Your father made you that way, and you should embrace his talent and perfection!", Dayown shouted to her as much as the crew.
Morwen's eyes suddenly snapped from Dayown to her faithful crew, and widened for a moment. She looked, awe full, at her changing hands and her whitening hair.
"No!", she screamed, shoving herself at Dayown. He slapped her away harshly, sending her over the flame wall and into a tree. He turned and faced Aerin, quite unhappy at the sight of this woman with Morwen's powerful sword in her grasp. He moved his finger slighty and the sword was wrenched from her hands.
"I shall destroy Elendae with her own sword!", he laughed, grabing the levitating sword out of the air. "How ironic that she should die from the thing that would bring life."*

She looks at Nazzy in desperation, hoping he would come and fight.
"We must pool are powers together, but not attack Dayown. He is unbeatable if powers of light are used; darkness must rule the day", she shouts in Nazzy's direction.
"Come, Lord Nazgul, you must destroy this power of darkness with the strength of your friends."*
She stares at him, strength apparent in her silver orbs, and takes flight. Dayown catches her flight in his flaming eyes and lifts off, streaming towards her at an incredible speed. He catches her in mid-air and both plummet towards the earth.
"Now!" she shouts. "Pool your powers and help the Dark Lord to defeat this foe!."*
Ciryaher
03-09-2002, 09:52 PM
Ciryaher, standing in a trance, suddenly ceased his meditations and looked at the stone, which now burned with a white light. The white radiance suddenly turned a fiery red, to Ciryaher's amazement. Without a moment in which to react, the stone reached a blazing temperature.
Ciryaher gave a mingled scream of pain and shock as the stone burned into his hand and imbedded itself in his palm. As abruptly as it has heated, it cooled; numbing the pain. He rubbed the stone, pushing it and finding it quite fixed in its position.
Turning his mind away from the memory of pain, he felt new sensations of emotion and perception in his mind. Looking inward, he suddenly realized that his mind and life force was now linked with Elendae's. Fearing to distract her, he touched her mind with a small light, then pulled away.
Coming to the reality about him, he saw the battle going on. In Dayown's grasp was the stone of Elendae, and Ciryaher perceived the danger of what would occur if the stone were broken. Gathering his thoughts once more, Ciryaher concentrated on Dayown's mind using the new powers he had acquired.
Dayown, who had been totally engrossed in the fight at hand, felt a touch of uneasiness on his mind, but could not locate it's source...

Aerin opened her eyes suddenly; instead of their usual green, they were the silver colour of electricity.

Naz is sent sprawling to the ground. His hood falls back, face is fully seen, his eyes blazing like emeralds. "We will end this now..." Dayown laughs at his threat
Naz rises to his feet and raises his hand up and a large ball of black matter smashes against Dayown sending him to the ground. Awe struck, each wanders from the group, staring at roaring white columns and marble floors.
Morwen leads them to a enclave where items of various sorts are stacked in an orderly fashion. A white light surrounds the items, and all eyes are drawn to the only item gleaming a wicked black. Its blade was of a dark crystal, and it shone with incredible power and intelligence. Its pommel was carved of dark horses...but suddenly changed to a prism with an eye in the center of it. Naz's eyes widened suddenly, and Morwen gave him a warm smile. The sword glowed fiercly and suddenly levitated towards Naz, and a voice of sweat summer spoke.
"By thus defeating the first of the foes of the Key, you are awarded The Sword of Darkness. If you treat it well it will reward you well."
Several decorated daggars of various powers levitated to each member of the crew involved in the fight. Dain recieved a very powerful dagger emblazed with various runes. Encased upon its hilt was a minature of the stone Dain found.
And so it went; each recieved an item of great importance in defeating the next foe.
At the last was a white staff carved with golden runes, and this prize levitated towards Morwen. Her hand shot out in refusal and the item returned to its resting place. She could not take something she did not rightfully earn....*

*The crew gathered on the ship, and praise was sent across the seas to Valinor for our well-being and fortune. Each took bragging rights for the weapons recieved, and each admired their weapon.
The weather suddenly shifted and became lugubrious; a large and ominous cloud gathered at the stern.
Morwen gathered her wits and unsheathed her sword that had been wrenched from the dismal grasp of Dayown. Into its depths she fell, asking the question that had brought her to this island; What way does our path go? The sword swirled, and its depths became a mere of broiling, black clouds. An image was imparted, and the way was set; east is the direction of the second key. So the order went out, and the ship flew into a brewing storm.*

Ciryaher nodded at Morwen's instructions, taking note of the storm. The sails were removed and the masts were taken down below deck. The oars remained out for the time being, and rowed them slowly eastward.
The Emperor beckoned, and all followed him to a small, yet comfortably ornate chamber. "Here I must ask that five wizards remain at all times, until we reach our destination," he said, and pulled cloth covers from five wooden pedestals that were gracefully curved and elaborately carven. There were two metal hemispheres at the end of the forked pedestals, and Ciryaher gestured to them. "In shifts, of course, five of us must remain here, with our hands on these energy sinks. Drawing on our combined power, the engines running the length of this ship will bring us into the air and move us forward," expecting a question soon, he added, "I am not quite sure whence these devices came, but they do indeed work as I have described. I shall remain at the helm during the storm that draws nigh: Who will remain?"

She ran to the deck and peered overboard...an island of the desert storm was surrounded by caged storm clouds, and a light fell only on the land. She made to call for Ciryaher, but her words caught in her throat and she lurched dangerously over the side. The headache pounded uncontrollably and her eyes bulged in pain.

*Despair and fear boiled in the pit of Morwen's stomach, and she lurched towards her cabin uncertain of why she was acting so oddly.
Once inside the confines of her personal world, she uncovered her treasured sword. As she had done so many time before, she sunk into its depths and cast her mind out towards the distant island. A numb maelstrom of desert sands and piercing light bombarded her vision, and large, white trees rose before her astonished eyes.
Her sword suddenly released a black vapour. It swirled around the blade menicingly, and slowy crept up Morwen's arm. A mist enshrouded the room and Morwen was lost in its depths.
When the mist finally cleared, a human woman stood where Morwen had once been. Her body was finely tuned in the arts of fighting, and evilness smothered her beautiful features. She held a long black sword in front of her, and she smiled dismally at the success of the transformation. She touched her necklace gently and spoke to Ciryaher about what she had done. Ciryaher runs back to the helm and peers off to the east. Spotting a bump on the horizon, he makes a slight adjustment to the course of the ship; the ship reacts and slowly leans in the direction of the bump, floating just over the water.
After several hours of completely ignoring everything that went on around him, Ciryaher gave a shout and pulled a lever.
Down in the sink room, there were shouts of surprise as the pedestals suddenly sank through the floor. With a heavy thud, the ship dropped into the water. Oars bristled out the flanks of the ship and rowed it the last several hundred yards to the sandy shore.
After dropping anchor, the Emperor assembled a small party to scout the island which consisted of basically all the guests and several men of house Penngristion. They looked out at the sand dunes that stretched far to the north, south, and into the east...

They stop several times to hydrate and rest aching legs, and a conversation arises. The dark woman ignores any questions cast in her direction, and kicks her camel into motion.
To the right, rising green trees emerge out of the dunes and a small oasis is seen. The crew rushes madly towards the shade and cool water, but the image suddenly shimmers and dissapears. A mirage. Several minutes later, a town with rising edifaces and tall towers is seen on the horizon. Again, the crew rushes madly towards it, but the image again shimmers and dissapears. To the right, a tall mountain breaks the crust of the earth and reaches its peak towards heaven. To the left, a sandy beach of marine blue water appears. Foward, a canyon of steep cliffs emerges, and to the rear, a forest of giant redwoods sprout.
The crew circles confused, surrounded on all sides by a refuge that is impossible to enter. The dark woman suddenly screams and pulls the crystal sword from its sheath.
"Begone! spirits of the mirage! you cannot fool us while we have the Sword of Vision and Truth!", she shouts. Four rays of brillant sunlight shoot from the uplifted sword and cut the images into shards that eventually shimmer away.
She smiles wickedly and continues the center of the island.
"Let us continue..."
Several hours later, the crew comes upon a large, moss covered fur forest. Thinking it a mirage, the crew suddenly shifts to the right, yet the dark woman remains and heads for the forest. She enters its confines and the crew stares after her in disbelief. Looking around at each other confused, they ride towards the forest.*

"How can we be sure we can trust this woman?" Aerin asked of Ciryaher. "It does not seem like Morwen..." her voice trailed off.
Looking around through the dense trees, images and shapes flickered on the edge of Aerin's sight. By the time she turned her head, they were always gone. A dry breeze rustled through the trees, but it was not enough to lift the sense of dread that hung over the company.
Except for the slight wind, the forest was silent. No birds sang, no small animals were in sight. The hooves of the camels fell with a dull thud on the forest floor.
When will we reach our destination? Or, more importantly, what will we find when we get there? wondered Aerin as the group followed the myserious dark woman.

Ciryaher looked at the woman for a moment, then leaned over to Aerin, whispering, "It is she, friend Aerin, and yet it isn't. I have found that this is some manifestation of a part of Morwen. I do not believe she has hostile intentions, but she is very powerful. Keep your mind guarded and your eyes open."
He urged his mount faster and caught up with the woman. He focused on her mind and gave her the mental equivalent of a tap on the shoulder. I would be pleased if you would inform me of our desination directly, because it will be much easier to simply let me know than to have to go in and wrench it from your skull, he thought to her, grimacing visibly.

*The woman remained stolid and gave Ciryaher no notice. Her eyes were focused on the forest before her, and her mind was cast away in another thought. She brought her mind back long enough to answer his question.
"No wrenching will you have to do, O Mighty Lord. Our destination is the center of this island, which by my calculations, is at the center of this forest. But for now, we will take rest in the clearing yonder and gather some water, and perhaps send some scouts to become familar with this region", she spoke coldy, steering her now forest soil camel towards the clearing.*

Ciryaher nodded inwardly and followed. The party entered the clearing and they dismounted from their camels, letting them take refreshment from a small pond on the edge of the clearing.
"Make no fire, as of yet," requested the Emperor, adjusting his clothing. He looked around and took in a deep breath. The air was crisp and refreshing; somewhere there must be cedar, for the pleasant scent drifted faintly through his nostrils. The land was silent, but a pleasant breeze brought the blissful, soft roar of an evergreen forest to his ears.
Ciryaher removed his light shoes and walked about barefoot; the green lawn cool upon his toes. He found a place to sit and rested, turning his thoughts inward to meditate.

*The woman watched the crew settle down, then slowly trotted to a nearbye evergreen tree. Looking back quickly, she disappeared through the boughs of the trees.
Several minutes later, and several meters from the camp, the woman stopped and stared at her suroundings to make sure of their authenticity. When all was satisfactory, she settled down on the cool grass and watched a crick weave through a minature canyon. A smile spread across her face and she closed her aching eyes.*
*A dark shape detached from the forest and pranced towards the unsuspecting female, aware that this one was very powerful and very important. It had finally found its master...*
Aerin

Aerin lightly dismounted from her mount, and again wished that she could have ridden Tsornin.
Espying a tree with low hanging branches, Aerin jumped and caught the bough, then pulled herself onto it. When she was comfortably seated, she took a drink from her water skin and leaned her head against the trunk of the tree.
As she closed her eyes, Aerin listened to the sounds of the company resting and quietly talking. After a moment of consideration, Aerin leapt down from her perch, and went to seek out Talierin.
"Tal, could I speak with you privately for a moment?"
The two moved off toward the tree Aerin had been sitting in moments before.
"I do not want to tell anyone else about this just yet, but I have a bad feeling about this forest... and indeed, about this island. You're the green wizard; will you see if this tree is really alive and growing like a normal tree should?
Usually, when I'm sitting in a tree, I can almost feel the life of the tree... but I cannot feel that with this one. It seems as if it is frozen in time; not alive, not dead, but simply existing in a frozen status.
If the tree is not 'normal', then what do you think it could be? And furthermore, what would that make this entire forest?"
Talierin

" I do not know the cause, but my heart bodes ill. It's like the life has been drained out of the trees, but yet they still live. And look, the wind blows just now, but the leaves do not flutter. This is an evil place, we will do well to leave here as quickly as possible."
Talierin and Aerin converse in low tones, until suddenly Talierin draws her bow and exclaims "Silence, everyone! Someone approaches, the earth tells me so. Draw your weapons!"

As Ciryaher meditated, his mind travelled to the Sun, and gazed down at the clearing. He saw the woman walk into the wood, and for a little while watched her curiously. A figure nearing the opening caught his attention, and he returned to his body.
Hearing Talierin give a warning, Ciryaher stood quickly and drew his macana. He tightened his shield and ran to join the group.

*The woman's eyes fluttered as a cool breeze ruffled her hair. The figure took several steps from its hiding spot and rose majestically before the resting woman. Her eyes suddenly shot open and she stumbled over her legs as she tried to run from the beast.
Do not fear me, for I am no foe , the words rang through her mind, and she paused for a moment to look upon the dark horse. Its body was of black ebony and red fire scorched the tips of its mane and tail. He was beautiful indeed; a horse meant for a king.
I am Creshibon, Guider of the Lost and Master of the Dark. I was summoned here by that mighty weapon you wield, and it has told me many things of your quest. I wish to be your guardian and friend., it spoke, dark eyes of blue gleaming in the dark forest light.
The woman was momentarily stunned by this strange stallion's proclamation. Why would it want to be her friend? Did it have a motive? She thought through this strange occurance, not finding a reason for his kindness. She stopped suddenly, and stared into the stallion's eyes. What she found scared, yet comforted her; a kinship deeper than any she had had before, and she trusted the horse entirely.
Good, now it is time for you to stop fighting yourself. You've taken this journey to find the keys, but also, I think, to find yourself. After your departure from the dark lands, you were lost and in need of a way to find yourself again. And that's why you're here; to find the true Elendae.
Pull your sword from its sheath , the stallion demanded.
She did so, and glowing tendrils of black and white smoke escaped from the sword and surrounded her. Moments passed and the full Morwen emerged from the cloud of musty smoke. She rubbed the stallion lovingly and whispered a small thank you.
Through the forest suddenly came sounds of battle. Morwen looked at the stallion for answers, unnerved at the sudden appearence of enemies.
They were made by the sword; ifestations of your subconscious. You were unaware of them creeping into your mind, and the sword created them. We must go now and help your friends, for a Balrog hath crept out from your sword and will surely reap heavy damage.
Morwen mounted the stallion and raced towards the rising sounds of battle.
Ciryaher
03-23-2002, 07:00 AM
Ciryaher jogged towards the group with his eyes to the ground. He lifted his eyes just as an unearthly roar rolled through the air. Horrified, he gave a gurgling scream and tripped.
The demon of flames, having sprug forth from Elendae's mind, charged the company along with smaller imp-like beings before it. Someone jerked Ciryaher to his feet and he ran forward, swinging his macana back and forth.
It had been a very long time since the Emperor had come across completely unarmoured foes such as these. His obsidian-bladed macana did it's work well, ripping flesh and severing limbs. Ciryaher had gone berserk some seconds after tripping, and the blackness of battle-craze was upon him. He bit his shield and hacked away, sending entrails and appendages flying. Before he knew it, he was drenched in black blood and standing before the Valarauko itself. With a shout, he cast his macana backwards and drew his axe.
The balrog brightened and pounded Ciryaher with a swing of its burning fist. His head snapped forward viciously and he flew through the air, landing some forty feet away in soggy grass with a sloppy thud.
Aerin
03-23-2002, 08:22 AM
At the first sound, Aerin and Talierin turned around and scanned the forest.
"There is some new devilry here, devised for our welcome, no doubt."
Drawing her sword, Aerin raced alongside the rest of the company as they went to face their new opponent.
As the balrog came into view, Aerin whispered "Durin's Bane! What an evil fortune!"
The air about the balrog was hot and dry; it hurt to breathe. Aerin drew a deep breath and rushed in to fight the demon.
Her sword, Gonturan, blazed with an unearthly blue light as she swung to meet the balrog's blade. As the two weapons met, the sound was defeaning. The sound of steel rasping against steel was heard, and sparks flew from the impact.
As the blades came apart, the balrog roared. The air around the pair crackled with static, and the imps that came with the balrog backed off and formed an erratic circle about the balrog and Aerin.
The Balrog's sword seemed to be multiple blades as it swung again and again at Aerin. Gonturan matched the number of blades as the Balrog had, and parried each and every blow.
The Balrog was powerful, and Aerin was beginning to tire.
How much longer must I fight this monster? He does not seem vulnerable; what can I do?
Drops of sweat formed on Aerin's brow, and one dripped into her eye. Closing her eyes against the sting, Aerin faltered. The Balrog drove in closer, pressing harder. Aerin brought Gonturan up to block a particularly fierc
