They do! And i just realised that my flapjack i was eating today had peach pieces in them, and i was well pleased because i haven't had anything peachy in ages. It makes me want to go buy some.

But why should they be protected? Because.. they are c nice variation on the colour orange. :D

Millions of peaches, peaches for me, millions of peaches, peaches for free.. peaches come from a can, they were put there by a man, in a factory dooooooown town....

Well, as founder of the Protectors of the Fruit, I will control all the minions under me (muahaha!). You will all wear brown boiler suits with a green helmet so that you blend in with the foliage. You will have badges with your identification number on them and orders will be issued to you via a cool little earpiece thingy.

I, on the other hand, will be replendent in full Elvish formal dress (I have to go the monthly Councils of Elrond to report on progress) and I will have a feather head-dress in red and purple.

You will be issued with your own feather duster and life size replica of Grond (not the person!). You will be responsible for these and will be required to replace them from your pocket money if you lose or break either one. The former will be for taking care of spider webs that may form in the peach (and other fruit) trees and discouraging Ungoliant's spawn to settle down to eat our fruit.

The latter weapon is to defend against any naughty elven children that think they can get away with stealing MY (sorry, OUR) fruit.

Who will join my merry band of Fruit Protectors? :cool:

Legolam, i shall join your merry band of Fruit Protectors! I think i can put up with the uniform, but i don't quite see your reasoning in your selection of yourself as purple and red headress leader! Surely i, at least, should be given a second in command position? *puppy dog eyes*

And i have a few other questions, the cool little earpiece thingy - is there a particular ear that has to go in? It's just that my left one twinges a bit. And can i choose the colour of my feather duster? Because i did see a nice fluffy red one in Tesco's alcohol section a few weeks ago, and it really is quite eye catching.

Who is in charge of our pocket money? And will we be given the chance to defend and explain ourselves if we ever have to give up some of that money in case we do indeed lose or break any of our equipment. I'm thinking of cases such as being framed for losing or breaking equipment by other members of the team, or indeed, mischevious towns people. Or need i not worry about such an event occuring?

And i'm also not too keen on spiders. Is there counciling available to help me deal with that aspect of the job?

I think those are all my queries.

Bunnywhippit - you may control The Protectors of the Fruit when I am not around, and for this you will be able to choose your own colour of feather duster. Except you're not allowed to have one of many colours, because that's mine (Gandalf chimes in "I preferred white"!).

BTW why were the feather dusters in the alcohol section of Tesco?!

I was planning on having the earpiece thingy in the right ear anyway, so I hope that is acceptable for you. I will be in charge of your pocket money because, frankly, I don't trust any of you!! Any Protector found trying to frame another for the breakage of an implement will be banned from eating fruit until they prove themselves trustworthy. I think that is an adequate punishment.

I also can't stand spiders, but since I won't be doing the work, you'll just have to get over your fears. I'm sure Elrond can help you.

I hope this has answered your queries (congratulations on your 300th post BTW! Quite an achievement!) and I look forward to seeing many of my minions at work in the orchards of Rivendell soon.
